《SINNER - Klaus Mikaelson》TWENTY NINE

Adeline woke up the next morning feeling, different. It felt like for the first time in a long time she had a place to call home, she had a forever. Since her parents died she never had that sense of security, the feeling of family, but she did now.
She stretched her hands up towards the ceiling, trying to wake herself up. The sun glistening off her brand new shining diamond, making her smile. She took a moment to admire the ring before getting out of bed.
When she walked downstairs, it was the same as yesterday. There was a full spread of breakfast waiting for her, with a cup lined to the top with blood. It was a classier way of drinking it, rather then sucking down blood bags or biting tourists in the necks.
"No Klaus again this morning?" Adeline asked Rebekah who was sitting across from her at the table.
"He's just playing his part with Marcel." Rebekah answered with kind eyes. "Besides, we have work to do today."
"What kind of work?"
Before Rebekah answered a team of people, dressed in black suits and skirts walked in with brief cases and big boards they began to set up. Upon observing the boards, she saw they were wedding boards, wedding plans.
"What's this?" Adeline asked.
"Well since Klaus wants the wedding in 3 months, we have to get to planning now. He sent the very best in to help." Rebekah smiled.
"Three months? That doesn't work for me." Adeline shook her head.
"I'm sorry— what?" Rebekah scoffed.
The team of wedding planners began to swarm the Adeline. Tossing color choices, cakes and venues in front of her— asking what she liked best, telling her she can have whatever she wants.
"Ah I see you two ladies are already hard at work this morning." Klaus said, walking into the house with Elijah.
Adeline shot up from the chair and over to her new fiancé.
"Can we talk?" She asked.
He looked at her with worry in his eyes, he could tell something was wrong. Elijah could too— part of him thought maybe she was having cold feet, but that didn't really sound like Adeline.
Klaus didn't answer, he just grabbed her by the arm and pulled her into a separate room— not that it could keep any vampire in the house from hearing what they were saying if they wanted to, but it felt more private at the least.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Klaus we can't get married in three months."
"You agreed to marry me— I don't see the point in waiting." He huffed. "What? Do you not want to marry me? Do you need time to back out?"
"Would you stop!" She snapped. "I don't want to back out. I just— I don't want to be showing on my wedding day. It's just not how I envisioned my perfect day— fat and pregnant."
His face relaxed slightly. It made him feel better to know it wasn't anything with him, it was her. It was the way she had seen her wedding day since she was a little girl. He wanted to give her everything she dreamed of, but he wouldn't wait 9 months to do so.
"Okay— we get married next week then. You won't be showing then." He nodded.
"Wait what?" She gasped.
"Unless you have another reason to wait."
She didn't. She wanted to marry Klaus but she still hadn't even told her friends. And to plan a whole wedding in one week? It seemed impossible.

"How will we plan the whole thing in one week?" She questioned.
"I can make anything happen that you want— anything." He smirked.
She stared at him, a smile taking over her face.
"Okay."
"Okay?" He grinned.
"Yes, okay. We will get married next week."
He grabbed her and pulled her in tight, kissing her lips. Her cheeks blushed, even after all they had done and been through together, he still could make her blush

At Marcel's he was waiting for Thierry who had just returned with information they had been looking for.
"Any news on the pregnant lady?" Marcel asked.
"The witches' lips are sealed—I've got nothing." Thierry huffed. "But I kept some day walkers down there, having them listen around see if they hear anything."
"Good, okay that's good." Marcel nodded. "And Klaus's girl?"
"Yeah—I found nothing. She is as clean as she looks." Thierry shrugged. "She was human until a few months ago though, changed after Klaus came to town. We can assume he had something to do with that."
"Human when they met, huh." Marcel thought. "Klaus must really love her. I kind of thought it might be game or a power play but seems I'm wrong about that."
Marcel had doubted Klaus's intentions for Adeline since she rolled into town. He had never known him to love anyone and figured she had something he wanted. Over the last couple weeks, he has seen that is wrong and Klaus does love her, which means he needed to change his plans a little.
"Okay—well if he isn't after something with her and we can't kill him, were going to have to get creative." Marcel huffed. "We are going to have to take away the one thing he loves—Adeline."
"You want us to kill her then?" Thierry questioned.
"No, we can't. Klaus would have us all dead by the end of the day." Marcel scoffed. "We have to drive a wedge between them—make her leave him on her own accord, that is how we hit him where it hurts."
"His weak spot." Thierry grinned.
"Exactly." Marcel agreed. In all the years he had known Klaus he never could find a weak spot, or an Achilles heal but now he had one, it was Adeline. He thought if he could take her away from him, it would be the key to taking him down and becoming king of the quarter once again.

The Mikaelson family and Adeline were gathered around the dining table, eating dinner and discussing the witches.
"We need to find a way to unlink Adeline and Sophie." Klaus groaned. "The witches are keeping things from us; they don't want Marcel dead, so they clearly need him for something. I don't like it and I don't trust them."
"I agree." Elijah nodded. "But do you know of a witch that we could use to unlink them?"
"All the witches are loyal to Sophie." Adeline huffed. "They won't betray the coven."
"So, we slaughter the lot of them, minus this Sophie witch." Kol shrugged.
"Don't you think I already considered that?" Klaus scowled. "She would kill herself and take Adeline with her if we did that."
"We have to unlink them. That's the only way we can make the moves we want to make without fear." Elijah breathed.
"Not to mention, I don't think it's working with Marcel. I can tell he doesn't trust me, even after I cured his right hands werewolf bite." He huffed. "He still has all of them ingesting vervain."

Adeline stayed quiet for most of the dinner. Her mind was spinning with ideas and ways to get them out of this mess. She didn't particularly fancy having her life linked to Sophies—every second of the day she was worried something could happen to her and her baby.
She had an idea in the back of her head, but she was saving it as a last resort—a hail Mary but the more she thought about it, the more she realized it was probably her only way out. She excused herself from dinner and walked into the backyard, pulling her phone out of her pocket to make a call.
"Hello?" The voice answered on the other line.
"I need your help." Adeline breathed.

The next day Klaus was out early again, trying to continue the budding rekindle of him and Marcels friendship, but Adeline was at the house— busy. She was taking care of the problem the best way she saw, using the only solution she could think of.
"Please make sure all the rooms are prepared." She smiled, speaking to the Compound housekeepers.
"Yes Mam." They nodded, walking into the different bedrooms with fresh sheets and pillows.
Klaus walked into the house—eyeing his fiancé ordering around the help and watching as they dusted and cleaned the guest rooms.
"What's going on?" he questioned.
"They are preparing the guest rooms on the west wing of the compound." Adeline nodded.
"I can see that, but Why?" he questioned. He knew his fiancé was up to something and he wanted answers, but they were interrupted by the doorbell being rang, echoing through the large house.
A smile took over Adeline's face as she walked to the door. Klaus followed closely behind her with a scowl taking over his face, he knew whoever was behind that door, Adeline had something to do with it.
When they swung the doors opened, they were greeted by her friends—Elena, Damon, Bonnie, Caroline, and Stefan were all standing at his door. Adeline let out a squeal with a smile on her face and wrapped her arms around each of her friends, who looked equally as excited to see her. She invited them inside and they dropped their bags in the foyer, letting the maids collect them and bring them to their appropriate rooms. It was now clear to Klaus; they were here to stay—at least for a little bit.
Elijah and Kol were watching from the upper-level terrace, just as shocked as Klaus was below them.
"Did you know about this?" Kol asked.
"Not a clue." Elijah responded. "I guess this was Adeline's doing."
Klaus stared at his bride to be with vengeful eyes, he didn't want the Salvatore's here, especially without warning. Klaus was irrationally jealous of Adeline's friendship with Stefan. He grabbed Adeline by the arm, pulling her off to the side.
"What is this?" He spat.
"This is me—handling things my way." She huffed. "Also, we are getting married next week. I wanted my friends here Klaus."
"Adeline—" he argued.
"Don't." she stopped him. "Please—let me enjoy seeing my friends."
He didn't want to agree but she was pregnant and the last thing he wanted was to get her over emotional and stressed. She had enough on her plate as it was.
"Well, what is your plan? What can your friends even do to help?"
"Bonnie's a witch, isn't she?" Adeline smiled and Klaus connected the dots. Bonnie could unlink Adeline and Sophie—of course she would, they were best friends. He had to hand it to Adeline, it was smart.
Adeline walked away from Klaus back into the dining room where her friends were waiting, sitting at the table. Elijah, Kol and Rebekah had come downstairs and tried to be as polite as possible when greeting the guests.
"Pretty sweet place here, a little massive for my taste but wouldn't expect any less from this family." Damon laughed under his breath.
"Well, thank you." Elijah nodded, taking it as a compliment.
"Not that we aren't totally happy to see you and see New Orleans, but Stefan said when you called, you said you needed help?" Elena asked. "What's wrong?"
Klaus clenched his fists at his side, gritting his teeth. Adeline had called Stefan—of course she had. He had hoped she called on of the girls and the two brothers tagged along, but no, she called her beloved Stefan.
"Well—this is going to be a long story, are you guys ready?" she huffed, sitting down at the table, resting her hands on the top.
Stefan's eyes caught the diamond that was glistening under the light from the chandelier. He tried to hold his words in, but he couldn't stop himself.
"Wait." He interrupted; eyes still locked on the gigantic diamond. "Are you—getting married?"
The friends snapped their heads in Adeline's direction, trailing down to the ring.
"Oh my god." Caroline gasped. The group stayed silent waiting for Adeline to answer.
"Yes." She nodded. "Klaus and I are getting married."
"Holy shit." Damon scoffed. "Gotta admit, didn't see that one coming."
"Were doing it next week—that's part of the reason you are here." She smiled.
It was taking a moment for the shock to leave her friends expressions. She expected it to take a minute to process. She knew they would come around; they always did.
"Okay, so you are getting married." Bonnie smiled, tears glistening in her eyes. "I can help with that."
"Me too." Elena agreed with a smile.
"Okay—fine." Caroline shrugged, smiling at Adeline then eyeing down her husband to be who was standing with his siblings watching carefully.
"I'm always down for a good wedding." Damon laughed.
Stefan didn't say a word, he stayed silent, staring at her ring finger.
"That's not all I'm afraid." She breathed. "Bonnie, I need you to unlink my life from another witches."
The smiles fell on the faces of her friends and everyone was now visibly more confused than ever.
"What?" Bonnie questioned. "Why is your life linked to a witch?"
"Because I'm pregnant." She blurted.
Elena covered her mouth with her hand in shock, staring at her friend. Caroline stayed silent, thinking in her head how this could be possible. Stefan was more upset that he was moments ago, he looked like he was about to snap the table in half and for once Damon was silent, he was speechless.
"Preg—Pregnant?" Bonnie stuttered. "Like actually with child?"
"Yes." Adeline nodded.
"His child?" Elena asked, gesturing towards Klaus.
"Yes."
"How is that possible?" Caroline questioned.
"Klaus." Bonnie answered. "One of natures loopholes, kind of like being a Hybrid."
Adeline didn't even have to explain, Bonnie was smart and a powerful witch. She put the pieces together as soon as Adeline admitted she was pregnant. Adeline explained to her friends about Marcel and the witches kidnapping her and linking there life together to ensure Klaus obeys their deal. She also explained how they were hiding something from them, and they could no longer honor the deal or trust Adeline's life to be in their hands.
"May I?" Bonnie asked, walking up to her friend, and gesturing for her belly. Adeline nodded, letting her friend place her hand on her. Bonnie closed her eyes and concentrated. "Oh my god—you are pregnant."
"Wow Brilliant." Klaus mocked. "We already established that."
"Klaus, please." Adeline huffed, wanting him to stop.
"Of course, I will help you Adeline. I can unlink you." Bonnie smiled, wrapping her arms around her friend.
"We will all help you." Caroline smiled. "With whatever you need."
"Anything." Elena nodded.
"Looks like the band is back together." Damon laughed. "So, are we the save Adeline squad now, instead of the save Elena?"
The group broke out into laughter, except for Stefan. He still sat in his place at the table, completely silent.

Why not just cut out the middleman with a large axe and be done with it?
8 160Home of Laplace
I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar mountain peak standing tall above me like seeing a skyscraper from the street. Soon the chilling burn of the snow that covered me began to invade my senses and I flung my torso upward, sitting up straight. I grabbed my head in confusion as my eyes surveyed the area around me: The corner of a mountain wall stood menacingly in front of me accompanied by thin, dangerous looking paths on either side. The likes of which only adrenaline-seeking psychopaths would use. I turned my head backwards and felt my heart drop as what looked like an infinitely long freefall met my gaze. I was sitting on the ledge of a snow-covered mountain. "CRKKKK" A heart-shaking croaking sounded from above me further up the mountain and I jolted backwards at the impossibly loud sound. 'Shit, wasn't there nothing behind me?' The sound of cracking stone accompanied the heart dropping sensation of descension. As I plunged down backwards, the last thing I saw was the deep-set brown eyes of that blue-skinned monstrosity further up the mountain. ----------------------------------------------------- Levi Laplace is a former genius biochemistry student that died a simple and laughable death on earth.
