《SINNER - Klaus Mikaelson》FOURTEEN

When Adeline and the rest of the group got to the ritual sight, they had already been beaten there by the original family. Adeline rushed up to the circle of fire where Esther was chanting, holding her hands over the flames.

"Mother!" Elijah yelled. "Mother stop right now. We don't want to have to kill you."

Esther didn't move, she wasn't going to stop. It didn't matter what kind of threats they said, she wanted them dead.

"I must correct my abomination!" She yelled, and continued chanting. Finn stood beside her, he was in on it, aiding her the whole time.

"Nik, do something!" Rebecca screamed.

You could see the demon emerge in Klaus's eyes. He didn't take kindly to anyone trying to kill him. It was his mother — and he should try to find another way but there wasn't one. After all, he killed her once, he can do it again.

Klaus broke through the ring of fire, hurling at his mom quicker than anyone could see. He punched his hand into her chest and ripped her heart out, and turned back towards the group of shocked faces holding the bloody heart in his hand. Blood was dripping down his arm— he furrowed his brows and asked "who's next?"

"Niklaus— thats enough." Elijah ordered, stepping forward. "Mother is dead, we are safe. That's enough."

"No— I don't think it is. You see, they tried to have us killed." Klaus shouted, eyeing down the Salvatore brothers.

"They should pay for it." Kol agreed, standing behind his brother— ready to fight.

Stefan and Damon looked between each other with wide eyes. They knew this might not end well for them, but that's the price you pay when you try to kill an original.

"Would it help if I told you we were here to help you in the end?" Damon shrugged.

"Not in the slightest." Klaus scowled.

"No Niklaus!" Finn shouted. "It is you who deserves to die, you are an abomination. You all are!"

Klaus turned to his brother with an evil smirk draped across his face. His fists were clenched tightly at his sides.

"I guess you have forgotten, you are just like us." Klaus scoffed.

"I will never be like you Klaus. You are a monster." Finn spat through gritted teeth. "And I may not be able to kill you now that mom is gone, but I can make sure you never find happiness."

Finn sped across the circle and stood behind Adeline, grabbing her by the throat.

"Finn No!" Elijah yelled

"Stop!" Klaus screamed, his face went white and his whole body tensed. Adeline gasped and it felt like she couldn't breathe.

Finn didn't listen to his brothers. He placed his hands on both sides of her head and twisted, snapping her neck. Adelines body dropped to the ground, and she didn't move.

"No!" Klaus screamed at the top of his lungs. It was the kind of scream that echoed and could be heard for miles.

Elena began sobbing and dropped to her knees. Stefan and Damon both rushed to Adeline, kneeling beside her lifeless body.

The anger ran through Klaus like a current on a river, it was pure rage. His body temperature had risen and his skin felt hot. He took off after Finn, and used all his forced to chop his head off with his hand. The blood splattered on to Klaus's face.

"I am going to kill every single one of you." Klaus threatened turning to Stefan, Elena and Damon. "Had you idiots not tried to cross us, this wouldn't have happened!"

Klaus was about to lunge for them but Stefan shouted, stopping him.

"Klaus stop!" Stefan yelled. "She's not dead."

"What do you mean she's not dead?" He sneered. "I just saw Finn kill her!"

"I healed her!" Stefan shouted. "Earlier today— Katherine cracked Adelines head open and I healed her."

"Oh my god." Elena wept. "She's— "

"Going to be a vampire." Klaus finished for her.

It took a minute for the reality to set in amongst the group. Everyone was staring down at Adeline, both horrified and relieved.

"We need to move her—before she wakes up." Elijah pointed out, moving towards Adeline's body.

"What do you think you're doing? Stefan spat. "She is coming with us."

"Like hell she is." Klaus snapped. "I think you lot have done enough damage for today."

"She's our friend Klaus—she is coming with us!" Elena shouted through her tears. Stefan leaned down to pick Adeline up, but Klaus grabbed him by the collar and threw him.

Damon stepped forward—getting in Klaus's face.

"Oh, come on Mate—you know better than to try and do this with me." Klaus scoffed, eyeing down the raven-haired Salvatore with amusement.

"Just let Adeline come with us and we will all be on our merry way, work for you?" Damon said with a condescending tone.

"Damon—let us take the girl and no one has to die." Elijah warned. "How does that work for you?"

A smirk spread across Klaus's face; he was pleased with his brother's assistance. Klaus knelt and scooped Adeline up off the ground, securing her in his arms.

"Don't look so glum." Klaus smirked at the group of friends. "You are more than welcome to come visit." The original family took off with Adeline, leaving her friends behind. Elena sobbed into Stefan's chest and Damon was staring blankly ahead, he was out of words. He knew this was torture for Elena—her friend was going to turn into a vampire, and she couldn't be there for her. Not to mention, Stefan and Adeline's close relationship, he knew his brother would have wanted to help see her through this.

Adeline was laying on a soft bed in one of the many rooms of the Mikaelson Mansion. It had been longer than it usually takes someone to wake up after being turned—she was still out cold. Klaus was starting to become worried and impatient as each minute passed. He was sitting at her bed side, watching her.

"Still nothing?" Elijah asked, stepping into the room.

"Nothing." Klaus replied bluntly.

"She will wake up soon." Elijah tried to comfort his brother.

"And if she doesn't?" Klaus shouted. "I will tear the Salvatore brother's limb from limb, you have my word on that."

"Niklaus—she will wake." Elijah repeated.

"I want Katerina killed by the end of the day." Klaus spat.

"She is nowhere to be found—she is gone."

"Find her!" Klaus yelled.

"We will make sure Katerina pays for what she has done, we have time for that. But now you need to be here with Adeline." Elijah kept a calm tone with his visibly distraught brother.

Klaus stayed in the chair beside Adeline's bed as more hours passed. Kol came in and sat with him for a while, then Rebekah. Elijah stayed in the room, standing behind his brother. Both original's eyes were glued on Adeline. Klaus was tapping his foot on the wood floors in an anxious manner. He was starting to really worry now—and worry turned into anger with him.

Just when Klaus thought he couldn't handle it anymore, the girl let out a soft groan and her baby blue eyes fluttered open. Elijah and Klaus glanced at each other with thankful eyes, sighing with relief then all their attention was back on Adeline. It was taking her a moment to regain her full consciousness. She let out another groan in pain—then she snapped up with a large gasp.

"It's okay—you're okay." Klaus assured her. She looked over at the Hybrid with panic in her eyes.

"Klaus—what happened to me?" her voice was shaking. "The last thing I remember is Finn... oh my God—he killed me. Am I..." she was fumbling through her words as the memories flooded her mind.

"You are in transition." Klaus answered her, he was trying to keep a calm tone with her as she was already scared enough.

"Oh my god." She cried.

"Adeline, it's okay. We can help you through this. You just need to feed." Klaus sat on the edge of the bed, trying to console her.

She looked over at Elijah who gave her a small smile as he cautiously watched her. Tears slid down her cheeks—she knew this was a possibility for her if she continued to be apart of this world, she just never thought it would happen so soon. She wasn't ready for this. The problem with being a vampire is your emotions are heightened and with her still grieving over the loss of her father—it hit her like a truck.

"I can get you a blood bag. We can start there." Klaus offered, standing off the bed to head for the door.

"No." Adeline blurted.

"No?" Klaus questioned.

"I don't want to feed." She stared forward, not making eye contact with him.

"Adeline—you have to feed or you—" Elijah started.

"I'll die." Adeline cut him off. "I know."

Klaus clenched his fists at his sides and gritted his teeth. He was not going to let this girl die, he didn't care what she wanted. He refused to lose her. Elijah looked shocked at the girl's words.

"You will not die." Klaus warned. "I won't allow it."

"Its my choice Klaus."

"I will shove blood down your throat— you will feed one way or another." He shouted.

"Niklaus!" Elijah spat. "May I have a word?" he gestured towards the door, wanting to speak to his brother in private. Klaus didn't want to leave the room, but he reluctantly agreed.

"You threatening her isn't going to get us anywhere." Elijah scolded. "She is afraid, she is in shock."

"It's not a threat brother, I will do it. It's a promise." Klaus spat.

"Why don't you try a less aggressive approach? Invite her friends to see her." Elijah suggested.

"What—the girl doesn't want to feed?" Kol interrupted, joining the brother.

"No. She is being ridiculous." Klaus huffed.

"That's an easy fix—just force her. She will get over it eventually." Kol shrugged.

"Thank you Kol! What a great idea." Klaus eyed down Elijah.

"Niklaus – try it my way first." He pleaded.

Klaus didn't want to agree to his brother's idea, but he knew he had at least a little bit of time to get her to change her mind on her own.

"Fine—call them." Klaus huffed, stomping down the hallway.

When Stefan got the call from Elijah, he told Damon and Elena then the three of them rushed to the Mikaelson house. They were greeted by a visibly angry Klaus—but what else was new?

"Thank you for coming." Elijah tried to be polite.

"Get up there and fix this!" Klaus shouted. He wasn't wasting any time with pointless pleasantries. He wanted her to feed and he wanted her to do it now.

The trio walked up the stairs and found their way to Adeline. She was still sitting on the bed, staring out the window.

"Addy?" Elena called.

She turned to her friend and gave her a small smile. Elena could see her tear-stained cheeks and her heart broke for her friend. She knew how hard this must be for her, she couldn't imagine. Elena rushed across the room and wrapped her arms around her friend. Adeline embraced the hug for a moment—but then she got a whiff of Elena's blood and shoved her away.

"Don't touch me." Adeline blurted.

"You're hungry." Stefan said. "I can help you—let me help you."

"No!" she shouted. "I don't want to."

The friends glanced at each other—Elijah was right, she was being stubborn.

"You have to Addy!" Elena pleaded. "I can't lose another person I love."

"You already lost me!" she shouted. "I'm dead Elena."

"Can I talk to her alone for a minute?" Stefan asked, Damon and Elena nodded. They left the room and Stefan took a seat next to Adeline on the bed.

He sat with her in silence for a little bit, he knew she just needed a little time to process—to understand what was happening. He had seen it before; it wasn't uncommon for people to refuse to feed right away. He just knew he didn't have a whole lot of time before Klaus came in and did things his way.

"Adeline—we don't want to lose you." Stefan broke the silence, but Adeline didn't say anything to him. She just tucked her legs up to her chest and rested her head on her knees. "Please Adeline, let me help you."

She still didn't respond to her friend; she couldn't even look at him. Adeline was an emotional person as a human—she always had a big and kind heart. The way she saw it, she would only hurt her friends by becoming a vampire. She could accidentally hurt them or worse—kill them.

Stefan tried again, he spoke to her several times with no response until he knew he needed to take a break—maybe discuss with Elena and Damon, then try again.

"I'll be back Addy." He smiled and left her.

When he got downstairs, all the originals were standing around waiting and Klaus was pacing the floor. Elena and Damon were sitting on the couch, but they instantly stood up when they saw Stefan. They were all hoping he got through to her, but he shook his head at the group with a frown.

"Alright—times up then." Klaus spat. "We do it my way."

"Niklaus." Elijah tried to remain calm and reason with his brother, but he was already halfway up the stairs with a blood bag in his hand.

He threw the door open, letting it crash against the wall with a loud bang. Adeline immediately turned her head towards him and saw the blood bag in his hand.

"Alright—play time is over." Klaus snapped. "Time to drink up."

"Klaus stop!" she yelled.

The rage burned through him like a wildfire—he didn't want to stop, and he wasn't going to.

"What is the problem Adeline!?" Klaus spat. "Feed and then be able to live! What is the problem with that?"

"The problem is that I'm alone!" she shouted, tears flooding her eyes. She finally let it all go—all the emotions she had been trying to control. "My mom is gone—my dad is gone! My house is empty, and I am alone."

He understood how she was feeling, Klaus knew all too well how it felt to be lonely. He took a deep breath and sat on the bed beside the distraught blonde.

"You will never be alone Adeline." He breathed.

"There is no point Klaus—there is nothing left for me."

He wasn't the best at consoling, he never had been. He had never cared enough about anyone to sit around and nurse their feelings, but he would do anything for her—he would say anything.

"You have your friends—" he started. "You have me."

Adeline looked up and locked eyes with the Hybrid. She could tell he meant what he said—she could also see the desperation behind his eyes. He truly didn't want her to die.

Unbeknownst to the pair on the bed, Elijah was just outside the door. He was listening carefully to their conversation with a smile on his face—this girl was the one he had been waiting for, the one Elijah hoped would come one day and save his brothers soul.

"Stay Adeline—feed." Klaus pleaded. "If not for your friends or yourself, then for me." A tear streamed down her cheek and he held the blood bag out to her. She didn't take it immediately, she stayed staring into his caramel eyes.

"Klaus—kiss me." She spoke softly.

"What?" he questioned; he hadn't expected that to be the words she spoke.

"Kiss me." And he listened. He grabbed Adeline's face and slowly pressed his lips to hers, swirling his tongue into her mouth. The kiss lingered, both of them wanting to stay connected. When they broke apart, they rested their foreheads together—both trying to catch their breath.

"Thank you." She whispered.

"That wasn't a goodbye kiss, was it?" he questioned.

"No." she smiled, reaching for the blood bag in his hand. She took a deep breath then bit into the bag, allowing the blood to flow down her throat.

She had completed the transition and now all that was left—was forever.
