Kaden was reluctant to allow me in a room with the prince after last nights jealousy episode but I got my way.

After he got his way of course.

He did have to be careful so there wouldn't be any marks on my body.

I looked up at Aldric and plastered a smile on my face as the man made his next move, he was winning our little chess match. I sweetened my voice, "You are so good at this your highness...I don't think I am providing enough of a challenge."

He chucked a bit, "nonsense your company is enough Calla."

I said nothing staring at the board for a moment before making my move.

Aldric took his time seeming distracted, "Tell me Calla, do you like my brother."

My lips parted in surprise and my eyes widened slightly, "yes of course I like Lord Dawson he is my master."

The prince waved a dismissive hand, "not what I meant, How do you like him as a person?"

"Oh. Lord Dawson is very kind and very good to me. I like him very much."

"And Kaden? does he enjoy your company?"

...if having him on top of me for hours last night was any sign, I think he more than enjoys it, "I believe so your highness."

Aldric nodded, "of course, why wouldn't he, you are a very lovely girl."

"thank you for saying so your highness."

He nodded, "I just expected someone less docile. My brother tends to dislike docile women, finds them boring. You are very docile."

I froze in my chair.

Red eyes flicked up from the chess board as he made his final move, "Checkmate Lily child."

Shit.

I tried to erase the shock from my face as Aldric rose from his own seat, "so what I could not fathom was how my brother who deeply dislikes anything he believes others in our race enjoy.. We like our women soft-spoken and our pets docile. My brother has never had a pet because he thought it pointless and when I heard he had purchased one I expected something wild. Not this, not you."

I scrambled for a story, "...I was difficult at first."

The prince gazed at me intently, "So he taught you how to act?"

I blinked, "he taught me the error of my ways."

Shit. the moment the words left my lips I realized my mistake.

Aldric frowned, "my brother hates our ways I may not be close to him but I would have to be a fool to think he would teach you to be a perfect little pet."

I glanced to the door, wondering if I could find an excuse to leave.

"do not even think of running girl. You are going to tell me exactly whats going on here."

I snapped at his tone rising in my chair in rage, "Why so you can run to daddy and fuck him over? I don't think so prince Aldric."

Aldric blinked, probably shocked by the venom in my voice.

"That is all you do isn't it? sit around on your pretty fucking throne laughing with your father over the idea that you are better than everyone else?"

Aldric seemed less angry than I had thought he would be. He actually laughed. Laughed, "You are an interesting human aren't you."

My jaw dropped, "Holy shit your just like Kaden."
