《His Personal Maid ✔》CHAPTER 47 - HEART TO HEART

PREVIOUSLY ON IAYMNM (now,
Jayden had been swimming in Lara's lake with his face when he had received a phone call from his dad.
"What's going on?" Jayden asked, "Where are you?"
"Jayden," his father sounded breathless, "Come to Newton's hospital."
"Why? Dad, what's wrong?" Alarm filled Jayden's deep voice which drew Lara's attention as she attempted to sit up, but avoided it because her throbbing core had said otherwise.
"Your mother..."
"Mrs. Benson!" Jayden heard in the background. Dana's voice.
What the hell was going on?
"What's wrong with mum?" Jayden inquired. The rate at which his heart raced was twice faster than Paul Walker ever drove his race car.
"We're on our way to the hospital right now. I don't know exactly what it is," his father panted, "but she's never had a reaction like this before."
"I'm on my way," Jayden mentioned before hanging up.
"What's wrong with Mrs. Benson?" Lara asked when Jayden had turned around, her alluring nakedness failing to be prioritized as Jayden's mind had been clouded by his mother's wellbeing.
He approached the bed and picked up his shirt which had been lying on the pillow behind Lara. "My father doesn't know yet but they're on the way to the hospital. It sounds really serious, I have to go," he wore the shirt.
Lara began to move off the bed saying, "I'll come with you."
"No," he disagreed, "You're supposed to be at your mother's, remember? And I'm supposed to be out with friends."
"Yeah..."
He grabbed his phone, cupped her face and kissed her on the top of her head. "You'll be okay? Call me if you need anything. Don't step out," he advised. This had been her first time at the lakehouse.
She placed her hand on his, "I pray nothing happens to her."
"Me too."
"Jayden," Mr. Benson briskly walked to the entrance of the hospital where he spotted his son walking through the automatic glass doors two hours after their phone talk.
"Dad," he returned his father's warm embrace before inquiring, "Where's mum?"
"In the ER. Let's go to the waiting room," he gestured.
Jayden met Katy in a waiting room furnished with twelve Cogswell chairs; eleven unoccupied.
"Jayden, hey," Katy hugged him.
"How are you?" he asked her.
Katy wrapped her arms around her white blouse, "I'm worried. Something like this has never happened before. I wonder what's taking the doctor so long."
"He has to run some tests," Mr. Benson crossed his muscular arms over his navy blue shirt.
"What happened?" Jayden asked.
Mr. Benson spoke, "I was downstairs, getting some water."
Who knew Brie was water? Katy thought as Mr. Benson continued,
"When I got back to the room, Lawrencia was flat on the ground having troubles with her breathing and had an incredible fever. She complained about chest pains seconds before she passed out. I tried to move her but she wouldn't respond. That's when I called for an ambulance."
Worry etched on Jayden's strikingly handsome face as he wondered what on earth could have been the cause.
Just then, a middle-aged Ethiopian doctor walked out of the room Mrs. Benson had been rushed into and approached the three people who appeared to have been hit with epidemic anxiety.
"How is she?" Mr. Benson immediately asked, "What happened?"
The doctor replied, "After a series of tests conducted, it came to our knowledge that Mrs. Benson had an overdose of the beta-adrenergic antagonist drug, commonly known as the beta blocker."

"What?" Mr. Benson, Jayden, and Katy exclaimed.
"Traces were found in her blood-"
"But my wife has never taken a beta blocker before. She's never had a problem with her heart."
"Based on the test results, she suffered a beta blocker overdose and was 75% close to having bradycardia."
"Brody- what?" Katy questioned.
The doctor explained, "Bradycardia, a heart problem whereby the rate at which the heart beats at rest is oddly slow. At rest, the heart beats from sixty to hundred times a minute. Your wife's is temporarily ranging from fifty-five to sixty-one. If she had been brought in twenty minutes later, she could have suffered a cardiac arrest, or worse..."
Jayden murmured, "This is strange."
"Very," his father agreed, as well as Katy, bobbing her head in nods.
"What could have possibly caused this? Dad," Jayden turned to his father, "How do you not know about the beta blocker?"
"Because she doesn't have any," Mr. Benson emphasized, "If she did, I would know, you know that."
Jayden shook his head, "It doesn't make sense. It just doesn't."
Brie... Katy thought, definitely Brie.
After having a lengthy talk with his father who had advised him to go back to his girlfriend since he was there to take care of Mrs. Benson, Jayden drove an hour and forty-five minutes back to the lakehouse, his mind clouded by his mother's hospitalization.
It wasn't clear, but they'd have to wait for her own words. Maybe she had been using the beta blocker in secret.
If so, why? Why would she keep it a secret from them?
And if it had been the work of someone else, whose was it? Why and how did this happen?
"What happened?" Lara who was now in a short crimson red nightdress, sat up on the bed when Jayden had silently entered the room. She had freshly taken a shower when he had left, her long wavy black hair cascading down the side of her perky bosom as the bedroom lit up with the welcoming smell of lilies and mint.
"How's your mum?" she asked.
Jayden was silent as he pulled off his jacket and put it on the arm of the sofa in the room.
"Are you okay?" Lara hurriedly descended the bed to get closer to him, "Is Mrs. Benson okay?" she desperately searched his weary eyes.
"She," he paused, avoiding her inquisitive gaze, "I don't understand. It just doesn't make any sense."
"What? What happened, Jay?" her voice culminated.
Sighing, he walked towards the glass window at the opposite side of the room and stared outside at the beauty of the lake that transcended the boundaries of the flourishing land.
"She could have been dead if they had not rushed her to the hospital," his gaze sat transfixed at the serenity of the reflective water body. "Could have been dead," he repeated.
Gentle steps slowly drew Lara closer to Jayden as she whispered, "Jayden..."
"I could have lost her," he murmured, arm resting above his head on the wall, "Drug overdose."
Lara gasped, the carpeted ground preventing her next move with its sudden grasp of her feet.
Jayden continued, "An overdose of a drug my father and I know she does not take."
Lara murmured, "What drug?" still trapped by the carpet.
"The beta-adrenergic antagonist drug, commonly known as the beta blocker," he repeated the doctor's words. "But it makes no sense," he turned to face her, her divine beauty silencing him for a few seconds before he continued, "How can you OD on a drug you don't take? She doesn't have heart problems. My mum is fine, so this doesn't make sense."

"Maybe she's not telling you something-" Lara tried to suggest but Jayden cut her off,
"Oh, I know my mum. The minute she gets a headache, a stomach ache, any slight discomfort, my father is the first to know. The beta blocker is for heart conditions. She's never had a heart problem. And if she did, my father would know about it. He would know about all the appointments she would have and all the purchases she would have to make because he'd make them for her."
"Then how did she have the overdose?" Lara's fine eyebrows joined in skepticism, "Could the doctor have been wrong?"
"No," his crystal blue eyes held her brown-eyed gaze, the memory of his face stuffed between her thighs causing her core to tingle with selfish desire, "Newton's is a very reputable hospital," he went on, "Plus, we had a look at the test results. Katy was there too. She says hi."
"Oh, okay. Um," Lara raked her wavy black hair with her slim fingers, "So how is your mother right now?"
He returned his gaze to the window, "She's stable and out of danger."
"That's great," Lara subtly smiled.
"My father and I will get to the bottom of this. Someone at home knows about this, I'm sure. My mother does not take that drug. Someone did this. And I will find out who when we get back tomorrow."
"I thought we were-" she paused. They were supposed to go back the day after tomorrow, not tomorrow.
But she couldn't blame him. This was his mother's life they were talking about. And if his suspicions were accurate, there was only one person Lara knew would have a motive to want to hurt Mrs. Benson.
But to that extent? What level of crazy had she attained? Taking someone's life was another stage of psychopathy.
Lara tore herself from the carpet's grasp as she approached Jayden at the window and embraced him from behind. His back felt warm and his abs tightened at her unexpected touch.
"Yes, we'll get to the bottom of it. But you shouldn't be tense all through the night. She's fine and we thank God for that," she placed her palms at the sides of his tummy as she murmured, "Calm your nerves. Let's go lie down, okay? She's fine."
Jayden drew her right hand closer to his lips as he planted delicate kisses on her fingers. He was grateful to have her. She was supportive and loving, and every passing day, his adoration for her intensified. He was willing to take their relationship to the next level any given day and to make it known to everyone at the right time. He loved her.
"Come on," she strolled towards the bed and crawled to the middle, then made herself comfortable beneath the sheets.
He took off his shoes, his shirt, then his jeans, leaving him in black boxer briefs which accentuated his endowed art.
Lara gazed at the tantalizing body of the man she had immense feelings for. Funny enough, her mind drew back to the night she had bared herself to him.
Whenever she remembered that night, a chill ran down the length of her spine as she relived the night's humiliation.
She tapped her forehead, transporting herself back to the present. Thankfully, that night had become a moment of the past, and in the past, it would remain.
But, would it really?
She focused on the man who had just joined her beneath the sheets. Jayden fused his warmness with hers as he wrapped his arms around Lara who had now placed her head on his chest.
"I think we can still have our date tomorrow," Jayden said.
"Really?" she looked up at him, "What about your mum?"
"We'll leave very early the next day. My dad will stay by her side all day, tomorrow."
Lara smiled, elated that they had at least one more day to fully enjoy their time as a couple. "Yes!"
"We'll go rock climbing again," Jayden grinned, "But I'm thinking outdoors, this time."
Lara paused, her lips forming a straight line.
"I'm going to pack my things now, sir," she slowly began to get off the bed.
"Where d'you think you're going?" Jayden chuckled, pulling her back to him. "What things did you even bring?"
"My entire closet," she sarcastically frowned.
"In that tiny bag?" Jayden feigned surprise, "We need to help you."
"Not as much as you need help, sir,"
Jayden chuckled, "And the 'sir'?"
"Formalities, sir," Lara said against his chest, her dark hair sprawled against her back.
Jayden then lifted her chin with his thumb and index finger and seized her lips unexpectedly.
Lara responded to the sultry kiss, its suddenness stirring the walls of her insides as she adjusted herself closer to him, the kiss growing through several stages of sensuality.
He wrapped his arms around her, electric thrills commuting between their unwavering contact.
However, Lara withdrew from the kiss and asked in a breath, "What was that for?"
"Reminding you of what we are now," he responded, "A couple. Not Lara and sir," he mimicked her silvery voice.
Lara giggled and rolled her eyes. Then she suggested, "Why don't we play a game?"
"What do you have in mind?" he delicately brushed his fingertips back and forth the length of her soft arm.
"We'll take turns in saying things to each other, but the first word of the next sentence should begin with the last letter of the previous. You game?"
"I'm always game for you. Who's starting?"
"I'll start," Lara readjusted herself on his chest so she was looking straight at him with her crossed arms anchoring her chin as she captured the mysterious smile on his face. Her slender legs married his strong ones as they engaged in a battle of who could keep whose legs down and grounded. He was obviously winning at it, but she was a fighter.
"You are amazing," she began, temporarily surrendering her legs to his claim.
"God, you're beautiful," he continued, beginning his sentence with the last letter of hers.
The corners of her mouth stretched wider, "Loving you isn't easy, you know?"
"What do you mean?" he lopsidedly grinned.
"Nothing," she said, and he chuckled as he questioned,
"Nothing? Is that your sentence? Nothing?"
"Stop ruining the game and continue," Lara laughed heartily.
"Alright," he held her gaze as he carried on with the game, "Great."
Lara playfully rolled her eyes at his mimic. She used a second or two to obtain her next statement which had to begin with the letter, 'T'.
"Tell me your size."
Size of? He wanted to ask, but refrained from interrupting the game as he stated,
"Everyone's curious."
"Samantha?"
"Samantha?" Jayden laughed, "Who's Samantha?"
Lara groaned, "You're ruining the game."
"No, what you come up with is irrelevant and silly."
"To you, that is," Lara rolled her eyes with a chuckle. "Don't ruin this. Uhuh, Samantha?"
He chuckled. "Angels exist."
"Terribly cold weather."
"Ready to be warmed up?"
Lara smiled, "Please, kiss me instead."
"Don't mind if I do," he leaned in but she chipped in,
"Oreo."
"Okay, what the fuck?" Laughter reverberated in his chest which made her giggle,
"Killing is bad."
"Don't test me, woman."
"Not aspiring to, man."
"Nothing you say makes sense," Jayden shook his head.
"Eat me out," she smirked, grasping his attention.
He followed suit with a lowered tone, "Thighs will quiver, baby."
"Your girl is horny."
"You drive me crazy," his gaze travelled from her sparkling brown eyes to her luscious lips and back to her eyes.
"You turn me on," she bit her lip.
"Not as much as you do," his yearning hands journeyed to warm her bum.
"Orlando Bloom!" she rushed in and burst into laughter after obtaining Jayden's sarcastic wtf look.
He chuckled, squeezed her bum and groaned, "Marry me, Lara J. Keegan!"
"Never!" she roared.
He concernedly inquired, "You don't mean that, do you?"
Lara sighed and dropped her face onto his chest, the contact muffling her voice, "You ruined it again, ugh."
A chuckle slipped from his lips as she grunted in annoyance against his bare chest.
When she got silent, Jayden wrapped his hand around her slim waist and dragged his other hand through her long, silky hair.
For a moment, they listened to their synchronizing heart beats as he continued to stroke her hair, hand still fondling her waist.
She meant the world to him, and he would be there for her no matter what. He loved her.
His hand left her waist and began to slowly travel down the hills of her buttcheeks...

The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he? Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.
