While eating some tanghulu sweets that she bought in the town, she walked home to enjoy the view.
She saw people enjoying their daily life. Several kids playing footballs, laughing and cheering at each other. It is the same as in the modern world. The difference is the technology.
"Umm this is so sweet! Should have buy more!" She bite another caramelised strawberry.
The wonderful moment suddenly interrupted by the sound of a several carriage. It was running so fast that everyone started to scattered.
Xu Ling Ai saw a child standing in the middle of the road. She look at the horse carriage and the child back and forth. No one moves to help him.
"Hey boy! Get to the side!" She screamed at the child.
All of a sudden, that boy fell down. Then she noticed he actually couldn't move. Holding on a bread, he try to catch a breath.
His face turn blue due to out of breath. The carriage coming to his direction in a very rapid pace.
"Gosh! Why me again?" Xu Ling Ai throw away the tanghulu in her hand. She grab the boy in her embrace and pull him to the side road.
The carriage eventually stop at someone's command. But Xu Ling Ai don't have the time to care. She look down at the child. He was choking.
"Son!" A mother ran to their side. She cry thinking that her son got crashed by the carriage. Everyone started to surround them.
"Give him some space!" Xu Ling Ai screamed. She too was panicked. Opening the boy eyes to check and hearing his breathing.
She open his mouth and no breath coming out from there. A bread must have stuck. While the mother keep crying increased the tension. She is afraid she might fail.
"Help me." Xu Ling Ai instructed the mother. She wanted to do abdominal thrusts like in the modern world to expel the food out of his airway.

"Please let it work." She muttered. Repeating the movement for about three times, the bread finally flew out of his mouth.
But she couldn't get relieved to soon as he still not conscious. Laying him back down, she begin with chest compressions. Checking his breath from time to time.
"Wake up boy." She desperately called at the boy. Her forehead was full of sweats and her face full of fear.
Checking his breath once again, it had turn normal again. She then fell back to the ground. She release a heavy relief breath.
"He is fine." Xu Ling Ai said to his mother.
The boy soon open his eyes but in difficulty because he is still weak. The mother hold him in her cradles. The crowd suddenly howl as a sign that they are relief.
"Miss thank you so much! I don't know how to repay you!" The mother keep thanking Xu Ling Ai. She even hold Xu Ling Ai's hands like she is some superhero.
"No problem. It is fine." Xu Ling Ai again feel burden by her humbleness. She didn't even do anything much.
Standing up while shaking off all the dust and sand. She finally notice that she is completely a mess. Her hair was all over the place and her clothes a bit dirty.
"My tanghulu!" She whine looking at the dirty caramelised tanghulu.
Xu Ling Ai turn around and saw the carriage is still there. Rolling over her sleeve and put her hands on her hip, she walk in front of the carriage.
"How could you ride the carriage so fast in a freaking village?" Xu Ling Ai point at the horse rider.
"This carriage belong to..." The horse rider was about to say that but Xu Ling Ai cuts him off.
"I don't care whether you are the king, prince, prime minister or a president. We are talking about lives. Everyone's live is important." She scold him.

"Miss. We apologise for our carelessness." Suddenly, a man get down from the carriage. He seems to be the leader.
"Fine. But please be careful." Xu Ling Ai said then left. She decided to let go since the leader personally apologise.
Inside The Carriage
Staring at the lady on the side road, he witnessed every single thing that happened.
Starting from she save the boy from getting hit by the carriage till the end. He is mesmerised by her selfless act. She didn't even care about her own life.
'Even though the technic that she use cannot be found in the country, she still succeeded. Who is she?' He thought.
When she scolded the horse rider for speeding up, he was stunned. When the curtain get blown by wind, he could see a snippet of her frowning at one of his man.
The way her hair flow all over the way because of the wind. Still she did not bother to fix it like other lady who care about their image.
The way she spoke without any formality but still respectful. Also when she cut off the rider when he wants to say the carriage belong to someone important.
"Find out who she is." His servant can hear his commands.
"Yes master." Ganba, the man who apologise to Xu Ling Ai earlier bow to the man in the carriage.
The man in the carriage held a very important identity. He is Chanyu. The leader of Nothern Xiangnu. Enemy of Han Country. He actually had some unsettled problem with the Han's people.
Emperor Wu, Li Wei offer him a peaceful treaty. Obviously he wouldn't easily accept it. He came here with a motive. The Han's country will be his.
Nothern Xiangnu and Han country will never be able to live in peace as long as old grudge is not settle by blood.
This created two rival Xiangnu states which was divided into two Southern Xiangnu and Nothern Xiangnu. Southern is an ally of Han led by Ba Jun and Chanyu led the nothern states. They are one of the mongolian barbarians.
Chanyu's family was killed by the Han's people. And he has been seeking for a revenge. However, due to Li Zhao's unpredictable strategy in protecting in own country, his plans always failed.
Until now, Chanyu has never officially battled with Li Zhao. He also have never met him. But he do heard that his martial arts is undefeated.
"Master, that miss is Han's country Princess Consort." Ganba who is Chanyu most trusted fighter.
"Interesting. Which duke did she get married to?" Chanyu smirked hearing the news that Ganba brings.
As far as he know, only Li Jun Yi and Li Zhi Ming has a concubine. So which prince take a consort. He was correct that she look too beautiful to be a common people.
"Duke Su, Li Zhao." Ganba shortly said.
All of a sudden, the carriage was full of a chuckle sound. Chanyu threw back his head and let out a humorless laugh. He couldn't believe Li Zhao get married.
"How come I didn't know this?" Chanyu stop laughing.
"He was forced by a royal decree so they wed in a very small banquet." Ganba hesitantly said. He is well aware of Chanyu sudden change of mood.
"Let's stay in Han for a few days more." Chanyu declared loudly and all the servant bow their head. He got another tactic to launch.
P.S.
Chanyu. A new character.
Once again I want to clarify here that this book are purely and fully fiction so please don't take it too seriously about the name, place and history.
