Writer's pov:

Vikram gulped and turned to see his father. Sivakumar, teeth grinding and jaw clenched he stared at his son in anger. The earlier happiness and pride that shined in his eyes disappeared and was now replaced with pure disappointment and anger.

Earlier that morning, Vikram received an email from a company expressing their wish to purchase royalty on his final year project. When his family and friends heard it, they were on cloud nine and very proud of him. His mentor asked him to bring his parents to sign the contract.

And his father apologized for being harsh with him and gave back his mobile phone, not before warning him to keep his relationship low-key for now.

If he completed his UG with flying colors, he would approve of his girl of choice. That's all it took for Vikram to cry like a baby as he hugged his father and repeatedly thanked him for agreeing. Their parents' approval means the world to them. Well, Hari too permitted him to bring Harshisha out on a date in the evening. Everything went well.

Every-damn-thing. Until he heard,

"Macha! Nee Appa aga porra da!"

(Dude! You are going to be a father!)

'What the fuck, dude!' Vikram inwardly cursed as he glared at his best friend, who smiled at him sheepishly and descended the stairs slowly. Gokul's body visibly shook as he glanced at Sivakumar.

"Appa, he is kidding!" Vikram stated, not believing that Gokul would forget his father's visit to their college and yell something like this openly.

"Is this a topic to kid, Vikram? Is this how I raised you?"

Vikram shook his head, his hand raising to hold his father's arm, but before it could come in contact with his skin, Sivakumar moved back in anger.

Frustrated, Vikram glared at Gokul to explain. If he heard this someday in the future, he would be over the moon but not now. Maybe, after marriage.

'Yeah, yeah, only after marriage.' Vikram nodded, the corner of his lips lifting in a smile as he imagined their marriage. Their marriage. He and Harshitha.

"Oh, sir ku sirupu vera varudo?" Sivakumar sarcastically asked when he saw a smile appear on his son's face. "So he is telling the truth then? Did you impregnate that girl Vikram?" He angrily questioned.

(oh, sir has the nerve to smile?)*(1)

"Uncle, uncle. I'm just kidding. Nama Vikram apdi pannuvanna, sollunga? Yaru payan avan!" Gokul cajoled, winking at Vikram slyly when Sivakumar puffed his chest in pride unconsciously. He continued, " And Vikram and Ha-" Gokul stopped when Vikram stepped on his leg before he could utter her name.

(Would our Vikram do something like that? Tell me, uncle! Whose son is he?!)

"Ahem," Vikram warned, slowly releasing the pressure off his foot.

"Vikram and who?" Sivakumar pressed, staring straight at him to continue.

"What I'm telling you is, Vikram and I would never break your trust, uncle. I would surely look out for him. If you want me to spy on him, I would surely do it for you, uncle." Gokul blabbered, his hands shaking in his pocket nervously as they waited for Vikram's dad to nod or to say something.

Sivakumar's eyes flickered from Gokul's face to his son's face for a second and back to Gokul. "Don't be with him, he will spoil you,"

Every parent's sentence. If you misbehaved, they would tell this to your friend. If they heard your friend misbehaved, they would say to you. "Don't be friends with him, he will spoil you."

"Appa, he is really kidding before. I'm your son, pa. I'll not do something like that before our marriage." Vikram pleaded, taking his father's palm in promise. "And even if something like that happened, I'll take reposnsi-

"Tell him to stop Gokul. If he doesn't reach home by 5, tell him to go with her itself. I'll have his mother monitor him and if I heard he arrived a minute late, tell him to pack up and say goodbye to our home." Sivakumar interrupted, directing his words towards Gokul instead of Vikram.

"Okay, uncle. You don't have to worry. I'll personally drop him before 5!" Gokul shouted at Vikram's father's figure as he walked away from them.

Looking at his father's departing figure, Vikram sighed in relief and faced his friend to see him holding back his laughter. One look at Vikram's serious look, Gokul's laughter stopped and was now replaced by an apologetic face. "Sorry, Macha. I forgot about your dad's visit. But you indeed knocked out Harshi da. Just now, I heard her telling Sudha mam that she was pregnant."

"Machi, I think you should go for an ENT check-up. Oru second la en vaalkaiye kaali pannita da." Vikram stated, patting his best friend's shoulder and trying to walk past him but stopped when Gokul pulled him back.

(For a second, you destroyed my life)

"I swear I saw Harshu, Dhanya, and Sudha mam talking about pregnancy in Sudha mam's room," Gokul exclaimed, his eyes wide as he described what he witnessed earlier.

"Harshi and I haven't-"

"Don't be afraid da. I'll help you guys elope. I've already told you about my cousin's brother in Hyderabad, right? He has a guest house there and surely would allow you guys to stay if we explain your situation."

'Onumeh pannama epdi da' Vikram sighed, closing his eyes in exasperation as he tried to calm down so he would not lash out at his naive friend. His friend in the relationship department is so dumb. That explains his clean history of the relationship.

(How, if we haven't done anything yet?!)

"No, you would have heard it wrong. Harshu is not pregnant. If Harshi becomes, I'll surely inform you, okay? And we won't have babies before marriage."

"Bu- but-"

"Manasa pottu kolapikada! I'm going to meet Harshu. Are you coming with me?" Vikram asked as he headed toward the staff room with Gokul following close behind him as he talked animatedly about his crush on the senior, totally forgetting the incident.

(Don't put everything in your mind)

Afternoon 12.30 PM,

Vikram tapped his foot impatiently outside his darling's classroom as he waited. His finger worked fast on typing a text informing her about him waiting outside.

Feeling her phone vibrate, Harshitha glanced down at her desk to see Vikram's text. Leaning back quietly, she looked out the window to see Vikram waiting with Gokul beside him, talking animatedly. As if sensing her gaze, Vikram looked up and grinned. As she mirrored his smile, the corners of his eyes crinkled happily.

She quickly looked away when she heard her professor turn the pages.

It has already been five minutes since the lunch bell rang, but her professor doesn't seem to have finished his lecture. There is always one professor in college who wants to continue his lecture even after the bell rings. That's him.

About half of her classmates were slumped against their desks tiredly, and a few students were packing up their things to head out to meet their friends/lovers.

Why can't their department arrange his classes after lunch? It's always their class that gets his lecture before lunch. Vikram escaped last year from this professor's class as they had Sudha mam for coding.

'Lucky bastard.' Harshitha cursed inwardly, frowning at his smiling profile as he walked forward to stand beside her window panel.

"Hello, darling!" Vikram grinned, leaning against the wall as he peeked inside the classroom slyly. He raised his eyebrow teasingly when he saw whose in there. Not wanting to get caught, Harshitha exchanged her seat with a boy beside her.

Vikram crushed a piece of waste paper with his hand and aimed it at her. The crushed paper ball flew past her and struck a boy sitting next to her.

"Go away!" Harshitha whisper-yelled, moving back to her original seat. He grinned, palming his face as he stared at her without blinking to fluster her up. Harshitha's lips quirked as she tried to control her smile, her breathing picking up when she felt Vikram caress her hand that rested in the window panel.

"Stop." Feeling her cheeks heating up, Harshitha pleaded, praying no one was looking at them. If they get caught, the professor will make a major deal out of it.

To Harshitha's relief, Vikram stopped when he felt her hands tremble beneath his palm. But his urge to tease her took over as he murmured, lowering his voice so that only she would hear his question.

"Baby, I heard we are pregnant, but you didn't tell me." Vikram teased enticingly.

That's all that took Harshitha to bolt from her seat as she blinked nervously when the professor looked at her questioningly.

"Do you have any doubt, Harshitha?" The old professor asked. His question seemed genuine like every teacher in a movie show, but his tone suggested he was annoyed that she interrupted his class.

"Umm, lunch?" Feeling everyone's eyes on her, Harshitha felt her face heating up as she glared at her boyfriend for laughing at her. His laughter can be heard in the hallway as he and Gokul struggled to contain their laughter.

"Do you think I have no work? Lunch? Time is only 12.40- oh" The professor cleared his throat, embarrassed that he was wrong but continued not to lose to a student. "Look at the time! I wasted five minutes because of you."

She narrowed her eyes when the professor blamed her for making everyone late for lunch as he packed up his things and left with a brief thank you.

'Coward!' Harshitha cursed as she eyed his departing figure. She smiled when everyone looked at her thankfully.

"Thanks, Harshu! We owe you one!" A group of boys shouted as they bowed at her dramatically and sprinted towards the canteen to occupy their regular table before their rivals could.

Eventually, the students left the lecture hall one by one. Following everyone's departure, Vikram entered the room whistling as she packed her books.

"Hey, baby," Vikram greeted, stooping to kiss her cheek. His lips lingered on her skin for a moment as he breathed in her scent. "Not cocoa, um, coffee?."

"Huh?" She amusingly stared at him.

"Lotion, this is different from what you use daily." He murmured, taking her hand in his and kissing her wrist softly.

"Creep!" Harshitha blushed, snatching back her hand, and tried walking past him but with a yelp landed against his chest as he cornered her against the wall.

"Vikram, the door is opened." She whispered when he stepped closer, slipping his other hand around her waist, and pulling her gently against him.

"So?" Tilting his head to a side, Vikram observed her, the way she took a deep breath when she felt his hand drawing a circle on her waist.

"Someone will come."

"So what?" Vikram asked, leaning forward and gently kissing her temple. She tightened her grip on his shirt, knowing that he was aware of it.

"They will report us."

"We are not doing anything that should be reported. Oh wait, what are you thinking? Naughty girl!" He gasped, raising an eyebrow at her suggestively.

"I didn't think anything! What are you thinking?" She fired back, crossing her arms across her chest.

"Um, not much. I'm just wondering how were you able to get pregnant when we were just making out? Are you manifesting that, sweetheart? Because you just need to say it! No need to manifest at all!"

"You perv!" Harhsitha laughed, pushing him back and running outside the class while Vikram took a minute to calm down and followed her with a smile. "Oye, nillu di!"

(Oye, wait!)

.

.

Post lunch, the couple sat at the cafe with Gokul third-wheeling them. When they asked him the reason, his answer was. "I promised uncle that I wouldn't let you two alone."

Pissed, Vikram glared at his friend who was talking about their senior to Harshitha. She and the girl Gokul has a crush on went to the same dance class, so she was equally participating in that conversation as she tried to give him more input about their senior.

"Babe, can we leave? It's already three. I have to be at home before 5." Vikram complained, groaning when she glared at him for interrupting.

"It's only three Vikram. Our home is just 20 minutes from here." Harshitha exclaimed, giving him all her attention when she saw his irritated face.

"Harshitha, look-" Vikram began, mentally scolding himself for sounding rude.

Gokul cleared his throat and silently moved away to give the couple privacy.

"Baby, you guys can discuss this in text or call. The only thing I want is to celebrate my project approval with you alone. Is that too much to ask?" Vikram mumbled, intertwining their fingers together. Harshitha smiled when he pouted unconsciously at the end of his sentence.

"Aww, Vikram. Come on, get up." Vikram grinned, quickly picking up his helmet and rushing out of the cafe with Harshitha, waving at a wide-eyed Gokul as he stood with the bill in his hand.

"Dei Vikram! At least bill pay pannitu po da." Gokul exclaimed, looking at the couple as Harshitha hopped on his friend's bike, her face fully covered in dupatta.

(Vikram, At least pay the bills and go!)

"Machi, en girlfriend unaku help panra la, aduku fee da!" With that, the couple took off, leaving a pouting Gokul behind as he stared at the bill in horror. 500rs for two coffees?! Pagal kholaiyala iruku. (Daytime robbery)

(Dude, My girlfriend is helping you, right? consider this as a fee!)

.

.

"You manipulative rascal!" Vikram laughed as Harshitha pinched his waist when he brought her to the racecourse. She thought that he would bring her to an ice cream parlor or for a snack in the evening. She wasn't expecting him to take her to a children's park, and for an hour, he just simply stared at her.

"Babe babe. let me explain!" Chuckling, Vikram tried to control her hands that were trying to pinch and tickle him.

"Hm, explain."

"Well, you see, my dad heard-

Groaning, Vikram glanced at his phone to see his mother calling him. If he didn't take now, she would call Gokul, and that rascal would blabber everything in the name of coping.

Winching, he moved the phone away from his ears as Harshitha laughed at his expression.

"Hello, ma." Vikram greeted, plastering a smile on his face to match her enthusiasm. But the smile quickly dropped when he heard her next question.

"What the heck? Where did you hear that?" Vikram panicked, glancing at his darling worriedly.

"Maa wai-

"Amma, how did you know Harshi is- "Vikram closed his eyes, annoyed when she didn't let him talk.

"Maa, are you finished?"

"First, Harshu is not pregnant. Gokul was just kidding.

Second, No, you won't get any grandchildren now.

Third, No, you should not share this with anyone. Not even to athai.

Fourth, No, you won't look like their aunt when dropping off my kids at school. You will be aged at that time. We have more than ten years of that.

And the final one, how the heck did you know Harshi is my girlfriend?" Vikram glanced at his girlfriend to see her staring at his phone in horror.

"Maa, I can clearly hear you. Now answer my question!"

"Okay, ma. We will speak when I come home."

He stared at his phone in silence as Harshitha tried to hold back her laughter.

"What the hell just happened?" He exclaimed, glancing at his darling, who nonchalantly shrugged in reply.

"Well, she knew about us." For the sake of answering, Harshitha mumbled as she avoided eye contact.

"Yea- wait, did you know that she knew about us?" Vikram narrowed his eye when her eyes avoided him.

"Ahem, how would I know?" Harshitha exclaimed, staring back at him challengingly.

"Oh, it's going to rain!" Vikram exclaimed when suddenly it started drizzling. They both ran across the road to hide from the rain but got shocked to see Hari and Vihana eating panipuri under the tree.

"Um, Hi guys, fancy seeing you here!" Vihana exclaimed, standing up from the stool and offering her plate to Harshitha while the boys stood glaring at each other.

"Haha, we are just on our way home. Isn't it Vikram?" Harshitha smiled, bringing them out of their staring match.

"Yeah."

.

.

"Harshu, come in my car. It's raining." Hari shouted over the rain as they ran towards their parked vehicle.

"Then Vikram?" Harshitha questioned, pointing towards her boyfriend's bike.

"I only asked you, Harshu. Others can go by their bike themselves." Hari mocked, opening the back door for her.

"Oh, then Vihana. Come, we will go by my bike." Vikram stated, handling the helmet to his sister, who looked unsure what to do next.

"Viha, you will catch a cold, so come here," Hari added, opening the passenger seat for her.

"Then what about my brother?" Vihana exclaimed, glaring at his extended hand.

"Vikram, hop on. Hari anna is just being petty." Harshitha laughed, dragging Vikram toward the back seat while Hari stood staring at them speechless.

"It's my car. I have a say in who travels in my car."

"I have an equal share in this car, so can you please start the car, or shall Vikram drive it?

"Hell no!"

'So no one is going to support him?!'
