Writer's pov:

Hari glanced back at Vikram through the mirror, who sat in the back seat. Although they are in a car with the AC on full blast, he looked nervous with his pale face and beads of sweat dripping down his neck while he kept glancing back at the wedding hall, where the wedding reception is taking place now for some unknown reason.

"Are you okay, Vikram?" Hari asked, taking his eye off the road for a second to look at his cousin, who flinched, hearing his voice.

"Umm, yeah. I'm good!" Vikram cleared his throat and answered with a nod.

He is fucking freaking out inside! How could he be good when he doesn't know what is happening at his darling side!

"Then why are you sweating like a pig even when the ac is on?" Vihaan pointed out casually, looking up from his phone, to which Vikram glared at him to shut up.

But Vihaan didn't stop there.

He laughed and commented that 'he did something wrong, and that's why he is looking nervous' and proceeded back to his game.

Sensing someone's glare, Vihaan looked up to see his brother glaring at him coldly. If looks could kill, he would be under six feet in the ground!

Vihaan suddenly yelped when Vikram pinched his arms slyly, causing him to fidget in his seat.

'What's got his knickers in a twist!' Vihaan scoffed when his brother finally left his arms.

Ignoring his pained expression, Vikram questioned Hari. "What did my mom forget to bring?"

"Paniyara kudam."

('A pot filled with sweet paniyaram, that the brother of the bride brings with him while accompanying his sister to her in-law's home. Paniyaram- dumplings made from rice & urad dal batter or idli batter)

"What the!" Vikram almost shouted but toned down his voice when Hari raised his brow, startled.

"Any one of us would have gone and brought it, right? What's the point in us three going for one vessel?" He asked, this time calmly even though his veins throbbed in anger.

"I just asked Vihaan if he would like to come along, but I'm not sure he would bring you." Hari shrugged and concentrated on driving, cursing under his breath when a man took a U-Turn in one way.

"Vihaan!" Vikram gritted his teeth angrily while the culprit leaned against the car door to avoid his brother's wrath.

"I- I thought you might be bored staying there." Vihaan stammered, meeting his brother's furious glare.

"You thought I'd be bored?" Vikram whisper-yelled, clenching the seat tight, so he would not punch his brother for his stupid assumption.

'Bored is the last thing I would be now! I have more than that to worry about.' He thought, looking around the seat for his phone. He should at least call or text her!

Vikram gasped when he didn't find his phone in his pocket. Where did that phone go?! He was positive he had it in his pocket when they were on stage.

Taking a breath, he turned around to ask Vihaan for his phone, but his brother hid his mobile inside his pant the moment he asked for his phone.

'Eww! He would rather die than use that thing.' Vikram grimaced, shaking his head to clear that image off his mind.

After that, none of them spoke, and the brothers gave each other the cold shoulder while Hari drove them to their home to fetch that damn 'Paniyara Kudam.'

As soon as the car stopped, Vihaan jumped off his seat and ran away toward their home without looking back while the other two got down slowly.

"What happened to him?" Hari wondered, staring at the agitated Vihaan, who was trying to open the door, but the keys kept slipping from his sweaty hand to the floor.

'Alert! Angry brother on the way!' His subconscious warned when he felt them near him.

"Thank god!" Vihaan heaved a sigh of relief when the door opened with a click before they would reach him.

Poking an angry Vikram is so so dangerous! He is like an unleashed animal that would kill anyone on his way!!

Vikram may look calm the whole time, but only his closed once know how his mind works during that time.

Especially Vihaan knew how his mind works.

'No, no! How his fists work right as he has the first-class experience!

Vihaan still remembers how his brother punched him when he teased Vihana for getting caught bringing mobile to the school.

Even though Vihana knew bringing electronic gadgets to school is prohibited, she brought them and got caught red-handed by their class tutor when taking a selfie with her friends in the restroom. And being the well-behaved brother he is, he promised their tutor that he would tell his mother and warn her.

(I might have cried while writing this, bring back my school memories!)

Knowing their mom would ban her from using them for a while and knowing his twin is a selfie addict at her 10th grade and her day would not be complete without taking at least ten selfies! So, he blackmailed her in exchange for her pocket money.

But the sneaky witch told everything to Vikram from A to Z plus some more lie that triggered Vikram so bad!

Vikram hates when someone teases Vihana and Harshitha! The person won't see the daylight if he found out.

That's how he ended up in the hospital with a high fever!

.

.

Vikram bit his lower lips with anxiety as he looked at his watch. The seconds turned minute, a minute turned minutes, but still, Hari didn't come out! What the hell are they both doing inside.

Searching for a tressure? Even that wouldn't take this much time!

En avasaram invangaluku enga puriya pogutu!

(How can they know I am in a hurry!)

Dusting off his pants, he stood up from the patio steps and went inside to see both of them sitting on the couch and watching tv.

"Yes! 6!!" Vihaan shouted, throwing his arms up in the air excitedly, while Hari had a grin on his face as they watched the ChennaivsMumbai IPL match, totally obvious to his presence.

"Seriously, guys? If you guys want to watch this, please stay back and complete it! I'm going!" Vikram declared, startling both of them, who looked at him alarmed.

Turning back on his feet, Vikram walked away, closing the front door with a bang on his way while Hari followed at him hurriedly.

"Vikram, wait!"

"Please, Hari! I thought you're the responsible one among us, but what are you doing in there? Heck, you also joined Vihaan in his stupidity? Vikram mocked, pushing Hari back, who in turn shrugged his arms off his shoulder, irritated.

"Vikram, Think before you speak! I'll not tolerate your nonsense." "Hari warned, gritting his teeth, while Vikram glared at him as well.

"Hari, Harshitha is alone there, and I don't know what is happening there. I'm worried!" Vikram confessed, closing his eyes in defeat while Hari furrowed his brows at his words.

'Fighting with Hari won't bring any good!'

"What are you talking about, and What happened to my sister?" Hari demanded, holding his shirt collar, wrinkling it in the process.

"I'll explain it on the way! Did you get that vessel?" Vikram questioned, his gaze flickered from Hari to his brother, who was locking the door.

"I got it! We can leave." They hurriedly walked to the car with that damn Paniara Kudam and began the ten-minute drive to the reception hall.

.

.

Meanwhile, In the wedding hall, Radha hugged Harshitha to her heart's content. She moved away, caressing Harshitha's blushing cheeks as Sakthi smiled at the laughing duo happily.

"Sakthi! Come here, ma!" Krishnan called her from a distance.

"I'm going now. Harshi, help Radha athai!" Sakthi patted Harshitha back and walked away with a smile.

Radha's smile dropped when she noticed tears in Harshitha's eyes.

"Hey, hey! Harshu why are you crying now? Do you love someone else?" Radha panicked, looking around if someone noticed. Her eyes lit up when she discovered no one was inside the bride's room.

'Did she misread their body language? But how? Their eyes clearly revealed their love for each other!'

"Come!" Radha led her inside the bride's room, locking the door behind them once both came inside.

"Do you not love Vikram?"

"Omg! Sorry, Harshu!"

"I thought you both were in love!"

"Should I speak to Sakthi again?" Radha bombarded her with questions, not allowing her to answer.

"No athai! I'm just happy!" Harshitha sobbed, hugging her tightly while Radha finally relaxed, patting her son's lover's back gently.

"Don't cry, Harshu! What would Vikram think if he saw you like this? huh? He would surely blame me for making you cry! Then others would say that I am being a cruel mother-in-law before even you marry Vikram." Radha exclaimed, shaking her head dramatically as Harshitha giggled, wiping cheeks with the back of her hands.

"Thank you, athai!" Harshitha smiled, moving back from her arms.

"Why are you thanking me, Harshu? My son is blessed to have you as his life partner!" Radha stated, grinning widely, her eyes twinkling in victory.

"But-" She drawled, forwarding her palm toward Harshitha, who blinked in confusion.

"Promise me. You won't tell what happened today to anyone, not even to Vikram!" Radha emphasized, her expression serious as she waited for Harshitha to promise her.

"Athai, we should at least inform Vikram. He looked so worried." Harshitha requested, causing Radha to shake her head in negative.

"That won't work out, Harshi! Even before anyone approves, he is this reckless, and I can't even imagine if he knows that Sakthi and I support you guys.

"Oh--" Harshitha gasped, speechless.

'Are they both that obvious?'

"Thank god, that your grandpa found me first. I really don't know what would have happened if your grandpa told what happened this morning to any of the others." Radha reasoned, thinking back at her promise that she made to her father-in-law.

'I'll warn them, but please don't tell this to anyone Appa!'

She promised him that she would not allow Vikram near Harshitha alone, and in return, he'll not tell this to anyone.

"Okay, athai! I'll not tell him!" Harshitha promised, clasping her palm together with a smile.

"Hmm. Now wash your face and come out! Your great-grandma has come." Radha informed, opening the door after helping Harshitha comb her hair again.

"Athai!"

"Huh?"

"Shall I at least inform Vikram that nothing happened? I'll not tell him a word about our conversation. Please athai, he would be so worried."

"Okay, call him!" Patting her back, Radha excited the bride's room while leaving the squealing Harshitha behind.

Harshitha grinned, biting her lips to control her excitement as his phone rang.

"Baby! Don't worry, nothing happened!" Unable to contain her excitement, she spoke as soon as the call connected, muffling her mouth with a pallu so that no one would hear her as she stood near the window in search of him.

She waited for a reply, but no one spoke. Why doesn't he speak?

"Hello? Are you there, Vikram?" Frowning, she glanced down at her phone and discovered its battery had run out.

Shrugging, she tossed her phone on the bed and went inside the restroom to freshen up.

.

.

On the other end, Siva Kumar stared at his son's phone in shock. Just now, a kid gave this to him, telling him that Vikram dropped it on his way.

He certainly didn't expect someone named 'My wildcat' to call his son's phone and calling him with the word 'Baby' at all!

It looks like he would have to have a 'talk' with his son.

.

.

"Adada! Is this Harshitha? She has grown up so beautifully!" The old lady exclaimed, squinting her eyes to look up at Harshitha, who took blessing from her.

"Where are the others?" Suganya asked, looking around.

"Vikram and others went to fetch something from our home Akka!" Harshitha answered, taking a seat beside her great-grandmother who took her hand in her warm, calloused hands.

She smiled when the old lady squeezed her hands gently. The texture of her palm overwhelmed Harshitha as she blinked back her tears. Years and years of working in the fields changed her palm from soft to calloused and rough.

'Maybe they would get a small home in the middle of the field and live their retired life there.' She smiled as she imaged them there. Vikram, asking her where is his glass all the while it was in his hands.

"Idu ena? Maama paiyana Per solli kupdurathu? Maama nu mora padi kupdu Harshitha!" Kannama, the old lady's words, brought her back to reality.

(What is this? Calling you maama's son by his name? Call him maama Harshitha!)

"Who is following that in this generation, Patti?" One of their distant cousins laughed.

"Even though no one follows, I want you to call him Maama before me, Harshitha!" Kannama pouted, narrowing her eyes at Harshitha, to which she nodded nervously.

'Calling him Maama in secret would already make her blush, before everyone? she is going to be a tomato today!'

"Speak of the devil, He comes!" Someone exclaimed, pointing towards the entrance where the boys are coming.

"Harshi, be ready!" Suganya exclaimed, nudging her shoulders teasingly while everyone hooted, recording the whole scene.

Harshitha looked away shyly when Vikram's eyes met her, while Vikram's heart dropped when she looked away.

'Why did she look away? Is she angry?' Random thoughts ran through his mind as he neared their relatives sitting at the corner of the room.

The boys took blessing from the old lady and took their seats.

Series of whispers 'Harshi do!' were heard as their cousins encouraged his darling for something, but she kept shaking her head in negative.

"Harshitha!" One word from the old lady, Harshitha looked up at him and raised on her feet.

His eyebrow rose when she stood before him, her cheeks turning pink as she licked her lips nervously.

"Do you wanna say something?" Vikram questioned, his eyes searching on her face to know the reason for her sudden shyness.

"Vikram- I can't, guys please!"

"Harshitha! It's not fair, do it! do it!" Everyone shouted, causing her to close her eye in shyness.

Taking a deep breath, Harshitha looked directly into his eyes, while everyone waited with bated breath as they looked at them eagerly.

"Vikram Maama!"

Now it's Vikram's turn to shy away from them as he stood shell-shocked as a blush crept up his neck to which everyone cheered, hugging Harshitha in joy who blinked at him shyly.

Well, this is not how he expected that day to be!
