The boys turned when the gentle clamping sound from the ankle reached them. Dumbstruck, they looked up to see the girls standing there, draped in the six yards of sheer elegance.

With their hair braided into a French braid with a few loose strands framing their faces, both of them looked stunning in the gorgeous red sarees.

Harshitha's lips rose with a smile when she found him staring at her with awe, an admiring smile on his lips as he stood motionless.

For a moment, Vikram felt everything around him fade away as he looked into his darling's eyes as she walked down the stairs without losing his eye contact.

"Woah!" The spell broke as Vihaan exclaimed while the girls gracefully descended the staircase.

"Aww, Our sisters look so stunning right?" Vihaan asked them, casting his arms around their shoulder, who in turn shrugged his hands with a frown.

"She is not my sister!"

"She is not my sister!"

"Wait- What?"

'Vikram telling this is okay, but why would Hari anna say that? Did he miss out on anything?' Vihaan wondered, scratching his head while his brother helped Harshitha inside the car, and Hari helped Vihana.

The moment they entered the temple, relatives surrounded them, asking the same questions that they ask every time!

'How is your studies going?'

'Did you put weight? I think you should reduce some weight!

'Why are you still thin as a stick? Are you eating anything?'

'Why did you tan? I know! Only because of that makeup products!'

'Why are you wearing lipstick? You're spoiling yourself! It's bad for your skin!

'How old are you now? I have a son!'

"Did your parents started looking for a groom? Even though you are not that fair, my son will adjust!"

"Keep your shit of a son to yourself, aunty!" Vikram scoffed.

Everything has a bottom line and the moment the lady in green saree uttered the last question, Vikram answered back harshly and led the others inside, where the marriage will take place.

"I'm asking this girl Harshitha, but he's answering! I think they are dating, and I should tell Radha right away. A matter like this should be nipped, in its bud itself!" The lady with the green saree grumbled, moving away to find Vikram's mother while the other ladies nodded and followed her.

And thus it spread like wildfire!

.

.

Vihaan yawned, cupping his face with his palm in boredom as everyone stood outside, waiting for the groom to arrive.

"Vihaan! Place this flower bouquet in the groom's room. They are en route." Hari passed the bouquet into his hands and walked away, giving instructions to someone on the phone about the food.

'Oh no!' Going inside is so scary! All the gossiping aunts were waiting inside, looking around like a hawk, so they would gossip if someone did something wrong.

Vihaan's eyes lit up when he saw his savior. His brother.

"Vikram anna! Here, Hari anna asked you to place this in the groom's room, bye!" Vihaan shoved the bouquet and ran away before he would reply.

Vikram wavered, looking at the bouquet. If he goes inside now, the chance to come face to face with Siddharth is more, but he must face it!

He paused in his footsteps and smiled softly when he heard Harshitha laugh as she played with the children in a corner.

They were all giggling over something Harshitha said when he approached them.

"Hiiiii Vikram chitthapa!!!" The children shouted, waving their arms with excitement while Harshitha smiled softly upon him.

(chitthapa- Uncle,)

"Is it for Harshitha chitthi?" Sri, one of their nephew asked, blinking up at him innocently, pointing at the flower bouquet that was in his hands.

(chitthi- Aunt)

"Do you want me to give it to her?" Vikram asked, leaning down while keeping his eyes on his darling's face as she shook her head, signaling them to say no.

But do kids obey? No! He chuckled when everyone shouted yes cutely.

Vikram turned around, his eyes sparkling with humor as he forwarded his hand slowly towards her, but a cute voice stopped him.

"Wait! Mumma said we shod giw flowe to our luver! then chitpa you lub harshi chithi?" Devi, their only niece and the youngest one in their family, questioned him, her big bright eyes looking at him accusingly with her arms on her hips.

(Wait! Mumma said we should give flowers to our lover! then chithapa, do you love Harshi chithi?)

And the other kids joined, echoing her words while pushing him back, or we could say tried, pushing him back.

"Hey! wait. I love her, and I'm going to marry her. So can I give the flowers now?"

"No! Harshi chitthi is ours!" Shouting, they pushed him back together.

Losing balance on his feet, he fell on the carpet, taking that chance, all the kids laid above him, so he would not give her that.

"Hey! it's not fair." Vikram laughed, throwing back his head as they all hugged him tightly while Harshitha stood smiling.

Only after he bribed them with the chocolate, they left him but not before kissing his cheeks lovingly.

"Hey, come here." He smiled gently, stretching his arms out to Devi as she stood feet away shyly.

"Chitpa, you dont luv me? Devi pouted and hugged him, hiding her face on his neck shyly while Vikram laughed, picking her up as he stood on his feet.

(Chitthapa, you don't love me?)

"Aww! I love you so so much, sweetheart and I don't love anyone else in the world!" Vikram confessed, patting her back gently while winking at his darling slyly as she stared at them, amused.

'Vikram with kids is so adorable!!'

"Really?"

"Of course!"

"I Luv you chitpa." Placing a wet smooch on his cheek, she hid her face in his neck as he grinned, hugging her to his chest.

"Devi! Here you are! I'm searching for you the whole temple." Devi's mom, Suganya walked towards them, panting.

"Mumma! I was hwere only." She shouted, peeking through his neck while Suganya glared at her.

"Akka, leave it. She was with me only." Vikram intervened, bringing the mother and daughter duo out of their staring contest.

"Suganya!" Someone shouted from a distance.

"I even forgot what I came for." She hurriedly applied the kumkum on her daughter's forehead and passed the balance kumkum on Harshitha's hand, and walked away, not before warning her daughter to stay with Vikram itself.

"Vikam chitthpa, no no red for you?" Devi asked, pointing to his forehead and pointed her forehead where her Mumma applied the red powder.

(Vikram chitthapa)

"Oh, Harshi chitthi will do that for me. isn't it darling?" Vikram raised his brow at her suggestively, leaning down so she could apply it.

Closing his eyes, he waited for her to apply.

When he felt no moment, he opened his eyes to see her applying it on some kid's forehead.

"Oops sorry, darling! no no red for you." His smile dropped when she dusted her palm and showed him her empty palm.

"Chitpa, don't wowwy! I'll giv you" Devi palmed his cheek with her small soft warm hands and leaned her forehead against his softly so that the pigment applies to his forehead too.

(Chittapa, don't worry! I'll give you)

Harshitha gasped, looking at them as they both smiled at each other lovingly.

"Baby! Where did you learn that?" Vikram exclaimed, looking his face at the phone to see the kumkum applied perfectly on his forehead.

"Oh, thish is how Mumma does to pappa daily in the morning!"

(oh, this is how Mumma does this to pappa daily in the morning)

"Ahaan! Your Harshi chitthi don't know anything, so she should learn all this from you!" Vikram teased, walking toward the pouting Harshitha while Devi giggled, hugging his neck tightly.

"Oi pondati, are you jealous?" He whisper-asked, standing close to Harshitha as she turned her face away, pouting.

(Oi wifey)

"Harshu, come here!" Before he would convince her, someone called her.

Kissing Devi on her cheeks, she walked away, glaring at him.

"Chitpa, flowe?" (chitthapa, flowers?)

"Oh shit!" Vikram cursed, running inside, carrying Devi in his arms.

In midst of this, he forgot about keeping the bouquet in the groom's room!

"Bad word chitpa, bad word!"

.

.

The whole hall went to pin-drop silent when he entered inside the room full of ladies.

Vikram rolled his eyes as the ladies stared at him weirdly as he neared them.

Nearly ten pairs of eyes watched him, including the green saree lady, as he walked towards the groom's room with the bouquet in his hands.

He scoffed when he heard someone say. 'He is so rude and arrogant!'

'Yeah. I saw him with my own eyes! He's so rude.'

Looks like that lady already did her job! GOSSIP and he doesn't give a hoot to those useless words.

.

.

Placing the bouquet on the table, he turned around to exit but stopped on his track as Siddharth walked inside in full groom attire. 'The white silk dhoti.'

Ducking his head, he tried to go out before he would notice, but when did heaven hear him? The next moment Siddharth called out.

"Hey, wait! I know you, and your name is Vikram, right?"

"Yes sir." Vikram answered, looking down.

"Where is your girlfriend?" Siddharth questioned, taking a seat on the couch with a smirk while Vikram shifted from one foot to another nervously.

"She is in the bride's room, helping Prathy Akka." He whispered.

He doesn't fear Siddharth. What's he afraid of is some relatives hearing this and spreading rumors about Harshi.

"Wait, don't tell me you are 'That Vikram' who wants to give 'the talk' to me." Siddharth wondered, looking at the young man before him, carrying a small girl in his arms.

"Th-that- yes!" Vikram exclaimed, looking straight into his eyes, all the nervousness left him as he switched into his protective brother mode.

Siddharth laughed aloud and looked at him amused.

"Then, I'm looking forward to that!"

Before he would utter a word, they called the groom for the stage.

So Vikram walked out, cursing his luck

"Shit!"

"Bad word chitpa!" Devi scolded even though she is hiding her face in his neck shyly.

The wedding was completed successfully without any issues as the newly married couple stood up to take everyone's blessing.

(I don't want to give any spoilers to the blushing bride, so skipped the wedding part!)

First, they took their parent's blessing and walked towards their grandparents.

"Purushan pondati yah, Vazhga Pallandu!" Lakshmi blessed, touching their head with love.

(Live long as a husband and wife)

"Pondati, Tis is how Vikam chitpa called harshi chitti teday!" Devi exclaimed, pointing at Vikram and Harshitha as everyone gasped.

(Pondati, This is how Vikram chitthapa called Harshi chitthi today!)
