Writer's Pov;

Harshitha excused herself from the living room as her phone rang from somewhere else. She searched for it as it kept ringing, cursing inwardly as she finally found it under the bunch of the shopping bags.

Dhanya/ Harshitha

"Hellooooo Bestieeeee." She winched, moving the phone away from her ear as she walked towards the dining room and took a seat on the chair.

"Why it took so long for you to answer the call, madam? Are you busy romancing with Vikram anna?"

"Ahem ahem, Hello dhanya! and please don't blabber as soon as someone attends the call. What if somebody from my family took the call?" Harshitha greeted her best friend, whisper-yelled the last past, passing a nervous smile at Vikram's mom, who took a seat opposite her.

"Okay, sorry lam keka maten, seri sollu enna panra? busy ah?" (okay, I will not ask sorry, so tell me, what are you doing? busy?)

"Busy lam illa, just watching a movie, nee enna panra?"(I'm not busy, just watching a movie, what are you doing?)

"Hmm, I'm getting things ready for the photoshoot. Are you free this weekend? I want you to model for my traditional garment."

"Hmm, I am free. What's the theme this time?"

"Bridal theme, If Vikram anna is also free, can you ask him to model with you? I will give you the pictures for free. You can consider it as a pre-wedding gift from me. Ahh, I'm so excited to see you both in bridal costume."

"Dhanya! Don't get ahead of yourself. I didn't even agree with modeling, and you are asking me to ask him."

"My dear best friend, It is your duty as my bestie to model for my clothes, and you don't have the choice to refuse too!"

"Seri! when is the shoot?" (Okay)

"Friday?"

"Friday ennoda cousin sister ku kalyanam di, Thursday veh elarum kelambi poiruvom." (It's my cousin sister's marriage on Friday di, we will go there on Thursday itself.)

"Apo, nalaiku okay ah? enaku monday photos submit pannanum." (Then, is tomorrow okay? I have to submit the photos on Monday.)

"Wait, amma kita ketu solren." (Wait, I will ask my mom)

"Maa, Dhanya wants me to model for her clothes. Can I go to Coimbatore tomorrow?" Harshitha asked her mother, who is sitting on the porch with the other elders.

"Okay, but when will you return. Today is Monday. If you go tomorrow, most likely, it will take a whole day to complete the shoot. Next week panren nu solliru."

"She has to submit her work by next Monday, ma." Harshitha replied, giving a pleading look at her father to convince her mom.

"Sakthi, let her go. I will pick up her at night." Krishan persuaded his wife. blinking at his daughter in assurance.

"Why the double work? Ask Dhanya to come here and stay, you can shoot at our fields and it has been a while we saw her. We will drop her at her home when we go to Prathi's marriage." Thatha exclaimed and continued his night walk.

"Yeah, tell her to come here, wait- I will speak with Rani itself." Patti nodded, agreeing with her husband's words, and took out her mobile to call Dhanya's mom.

Harshitha's grandmother and Dhanya's grandmother are childhood friends, and they practically grew up together, and the same goes with Sakthi and rani too. Now the friendship became even strong as Harshitha and Dhanya became best friends the second they met.

The next morning.

"Where are Harshi and Hari anna?" Vihaan asked his twin, who laid on the sofa with a hot pack on her stomach. Everyone was present in the living room except those siblings.

"Oh, they went to pick up dhanya Akka." Vihana groaned, rolling on her stomach as the cramps increased when she laid on her side.

Vihaan's face lit up hearing her name, but he covered with a blank face before anyone would notice. (Akka- Elder sister.)

Vikram glanced at his sister her face scrunched up in discomfort as her hand fisted on the blanket in a tight grip. He went and fetched a pillow from their parent's room and passed it to Vihana, who gave him a thanking smile and kept it against her back, sighing in relief as her back pain eased a little.

"Vaa Dhanya!!" Everyone perked up as Lakshmi greeted welcomed her with a warm smile. (Vaa - come)

"Grandma! How are you?" Dhanya exclaimed, taking blessings from the elders. Vihaan's eyes didn't leave her face as she greeted everyone with a beautiful smile, nodding to Krishnan as he asked her something.

He felt overwhelmed as she smiled in his direction with a nod, but he knew the smile is not directed to him, it is for his twin, who now sat up with a smile.

His heart ached as she walked past him without even acknowledging him. The last time she came here, they talked so much, they all literally stayed up till midnight, playing cards, carrom but now she didn't even glance at him.

Harshitha gave him a small smile as he walked out silently.

In the girl's room

"So?" Dhanya smiled mischievously, closing the door while Vihana and Harshitha laid down on the bed after their heavy lunch.

"No, please not now Dhanu ma!" Harshitha asked, hiding her face on the pillow, clearly not wanting to answer her bestie's crazy requests.

"You even didn't ask him?" She exclaimed, plopping in between them.

"I'm not asking him!" Harshitha stated, turning away from her.

"I trusted you Harshu, I trusted you that I didn't even book any male model for the shoot. Are you trying to get revenge on me for helping Vikram anna pursue you?, Harshitha, grow up! it's been four years and are you not happy with the result? You are romancing with him almost all day at college, indirectly giving me dog food! It's me who should get revenge on you!" Dhanya exclaimed dramatically, sitting up with a huff.

"Dhanya, are you even hearing what you speak?" Harshitha looked at her weirdly.

"Can anyone tell me what's going on?" Vihana asked, opening her eyes as these two kept bickering back and forth. She is already in pain, and their endless conversation is not helping it either.

If she knew that they are going to fight like this, she would have stayed in the living room itself, enduring those overdramatic serials that the ladies watch in the afternoon.

"Vihana, you say, if Harshi is the bride, then who should be the groom?" Dhanya asked, grabbing her hands excitedly.

"Obviously, my brother!" Vihana giggled, trying to guess why the always calm and sweet Dhanya turned this crazy.

"Correct! That's why I told her to ask Vikram anna to model with her, and she didn't even ask him heck she didn't even think of asking him."

"If it is any other shoot, I would have asked him. It's a bridal shoot. I feel shy." Harshitha whispered, hiding her blushing face as the girls awwed.

"Anna, put your arms around her waist, ah okay, Harshu lean your head on his chest." Dhanya instructed, adjusting the lights while the couple stood in the middle of the paddy field, totally decked up as bride and groom.

After a lot of persuasion from Dhanya and Vihana, Finally, Harshitha decided to ask him, but before even she would ask, he declared that he would be the male model when he heard them talking about the bridal shoot.

"Dhanya, Is this really necessary?" Harshitha asked, looking around as a group of teenage girls giggled, standing there and watching the shoot.

"Harshu, Anna, You guys change the costume. We will move to our next location." Dhanya said, packing her camera and lights.

"Hello, no drama or cinema shooting is going here. Get the hell out of here," Dhanya shouted, walking towards the girls, who still stood staring at the couple but ran away hearing her shout.

.

.

"Let's elope." Vikram declared, back hugging her as soon as they entered the storeroom that was on the field.

"What the heck Vikram? where are you even getting this idea from?" Harshitha exclaimed, moving out of his arms, laughing as he pouted, drawing her into his arms again.

"I'm serious," Vikram stated, hugging her tight, he has seen her in a saree many times, but this is the first time he has seen her in this look.

Her long hair was fully braided and with yards of jasmine draped around her braid beautifully. The beautiful red saree was draped on her figure perfectly, bringing out her hidden curves, giving her a mature look.

The saree border was weaved with an intricate design of beautiful floral patterns in the gold thread by hand.

She didn't like heavy makeup so, they opted for simple makeup with her golden jewels adorning her from head to toe. In simple words, She looked heavenly like a goddess.

Vikram's heart skipped a beat when she walked down the stair in that saree. Their ladies became emotional as they saw her in that look. The men were not in the house as they went to Coimbatore for some work.

"Harshu, May I come in?" Dhanya knocked, waiting for them to open the door.

"Yeah! come in." Harshitha opened the door and started removing her jewels.

"Hey, wait! I saw a temple on our way, we will take the last picture there, and we can go home." Dhanya stated and helped her put the jewels back.

In the temple

Everything was ready, the light, camera, and they both stood in position, but Dhanya still stood without taking the photos.

"What happened?"

"Something is missing, wait I will come." Dhanya exclaimed, running out of the temple, leaving them confused.

"Dhanya, are you out of your mind?" Harshitha dragged her aside as she returned with 2 flower garlands.

"What? It's just a shoot Harshi! Everyone from our home knows you both are doing the bridal shoot. No one will question us di, chill!" Dhanya exclaimed, putting a garland around Harshitha's neck, and passed another one to Vikram.

"Now what?" You want him to tie a thali?" Harshitha asked sarcastically, looking at dhanya who again stood still without taking any photos.

(Thali- Mangulsutra)

"Maybe?"

"Dhanya!" Harshitha shouted, getting annoyed with her bestie's crazy ideas.

"Just kidding. Anna can you act like keeping kumkum on her forehead." Dhanya asked, looking at Vikram, who looked bewildered.

"No need to apply at all Anna. Just act. I will capture it at a certain angle." Dhanya smiled sheepishly as Harshitha glared at her angrily.

Vikram hesitated for a moment but nodded as she gave him a pleading look.

"Okay! Thank you for your hard work, guys. Can we go home? I'm so hungry. Vihana just messaged me that aunty is making vada and payasam!" Dhanya exclaimed, packing up the equipment quickly as Vikram helped them carrying them to the car.

Vikram started the car as the girls took the back seat, The earlier tiredness was all gone as they spoke about some K-drama excitedly.

After ten minutes or so, their voice gradually decreased as they both slept leaning against each other.

Vikram decreased the radio sound and opened the window to enjoy the relaxing and calm environment.
