《Alpha Grayson》Chapter 15

I wake up to the sound of rain. I'm lying on something hard, cold and wet - concrete? I open my eyes only to be met with a blurry image of long rusty looking, metal bars. I'm in a cell.
I attempt to sit up which is merely impossible with the chain attached on my left ankle, I turn my head to the wall on my left only to see that I'm attached to a hook on the wall. I sigh deeply and suddenly get overwhelmed with rage, I begin to pull at the chain in frustration. How did I even end up here?
"I wouldn't bother if I were you." I hear a voice say in front of me. I pay no attention to it and continue to aimlessly pull at the chain, desperate to get the feeling of the unpleasant metal of off my leg. With no luck, I finally give in and acknowledge the people in front of me. On the other side of the cell I see a boy and a girl, possibly a year or two younger than me, they have very similar features, light ginger hair with bright blue eyes. The only noticeable difference between them is the shape of their nose with the girls being slightly more thinner than the boys as well as the slight curl present in the boys hair. Fraternal Twins I conclude.
After staring at the two strangers in front of me for a little while longer than necessary the boy speaks up. "I'm Jared and this is my twin sister Jade." He announces while gesturing at his sister beside him. They both look as hopeless as I felt. With raged, dirty clothing and cuts on their faces, they were really a sight to see. It takes me a while to figure out that Jared was still talking, I look at both of them with a questioning expression, lost as to what he was talking about.

"What's your name?" He muttered again.
"Ayanna." I simply reply.
I let my brain wonder back. I couldn't remember, I cant remember how I ended up here. Last thing I remember was Grayson carrying me through the forest. Oh Grayson.
"How did you guys end up here?" I ask, letting my thoughts drift off.
"Our pack the Scarlet Moon pack was ambushed, we are...or we were one of the smallest packs located in Canada. With only 28 members we had no chance against alpha Leon and his pack-"
Wait, Alpha Leon?" I interrupt.
"Yes, we're in his territory, these are his dungeons. But regardless, I don't know why or how it happened but those who didn't submit to him were killed on the spot and the rest of us were taken here." He continued, sliding down against the wall to sit next to his still sister.
"How long have you guys been here?" I whisper, scared of the answer I'm going to receive.
Without uttering a word he points to the wall on his right, where hundred of tally marks were engraved across the concrete wall. I feel a single tear drop down my cheek and forcefully wipe it away.
"No, this cant be happening. No, No, No, No, No..." I whisper aimlessly into the silent cell.
I'm lying on the ground staring at the dents in the wall as if they were the most fascinating thing in the world, which honestly, right now, they are. I begin to feel tired, it must be late i think to myself. My thoughts were interrupted from the sound of heavy foot steps, I sit up intrigued about who it could be coming down the corridor. After a few seconds a very large, bulky man appears, the cell is too dark to see his features but there are rattling sounds coming from his hands, he must be carrying a bundle of keys.

My assumptions are proved to be correct when the sound of a key entering the key hole to our cell is heard. I resist the urge to cover my ears as the door slowly creaks open. He steps aside out of the cell and stands up straight, even without seeing his expression I know he must be an obedient, loyal, ass hole of a bodyguard. I see Jared and Jade shift in their position on the ground as another figure comes forward, from the shadow I can tell that it is a man. Shorter and less bulkier than the first one.
I see the first guy step to the left, just outside our cell where he flicks a switch, suddenly the cell room is engulfed in light and I turn away, blinking my eyes trying to adjust to the new environment. I can feel someone staring at me, I turn my head back to look at the man standing in my cell and feel sick at who I see in-front of me.
"D-d-ad?" I stutter, suddenly at loss for words.

A Girl and Her Food
When a lost girl wakes up without a name, she quickly finds herself alone in a way that people around her can’t fix. Without a real plan and desperate to find what’s wrong with her, she thrashes and bites to stay alive. But human beings are weak things, that band together for strength, no matter who we are. Now if only she could work up the courage to ask one question... It’s normal to get stronger when you drink the blood of monsters. Right? Things to expect: - A powerful but kinda neurotic and emotional protagonist, with some degree of weak to strong. Or maybe strong to stronger, honestly. She's pretty rational and practical about things but won't always make the best decisions, so be warned if you super-dislike characters doing dumb stuff for emotional reasons sometimes. - Lots of dialogue and characterization, especially as we get more into it. It's focused on a single POV, but there might be some sections of other POVs later on, I'm not sure right now. - Magic is on the softer side, but I'll try to keep things fleshed out enough to avoid any obvious "well-established magic could have seemingly instantly solved this problem" moments. - I didn't add the mystery tag because I feel like it implies that this is a detective novel or something, but the story is absolutely incredibly opaque at times. So you'll have the most fun if you go into it trying to puzzle out the nature of events before they're explicitly explained!😇 - Also, I added the genre for completion, but it's gonna take a while to get to the romance. Please wait warmly and have some tea. Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!
