Drew POV

Everyone clapped and smiled with pride as they looked upon their Alpha and Beta, who would not only rule the pack together, but as mates as well. Everyone talked about how it was a great blessing from the moon goddess to be blessed with such a pair, but I myself, just wanted to crawl in a hole and die somewhere.

I must have committed some major wrongdoing in my life to be punished this badly. I tried to pry my hand out of his grip when the ritual was over, but he just held onto it tighter. I looked at him with a puzzled gaze, only for him to ignore me and look straight ahead as if I wasn't even there.

How on earth am I supposed to love this asshole?

I tried my best to fake smile at everyone as they came up to us and congratulated us saying how we were a match made in heaven and shit like that. I honestly just wanted to puke right now. I ripped my hand out of his grasp gaining a look from him immediately.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"Bathroom" I replied without even looking at him and walked down the platform to where the bathrooms were situated.

I splashed water on my face and patted my cheeks. My eyes really stung and burned, probably due to the excessive crying I had done. I looked at myself in the mirror.

Goddess I looked terrible

My eyes were so puffy and my lips were swollen, not to mention my face was red as blood. I wet my hands and ran them through my hair, trying to make it look like a human being's again before I walked out of the bathroom to find Elliot standing by the doorway, leaning against the wall. He was looking down almost like he was deep in thought. Just seeing him here made my heart twist and tangle, he was so near to me, yet so far. I couldn't touch him the way I wanted to anymore because it felt wrong and that pissed me off more than anything.

"Hey" I said, he looked up and smiled at me even though he forced it.

"Hi.. how are you?" He said as he pushed himself off the wall and coming to stand in front of me.

"I'll be fine I guess.."

He pulled me into a hug, an innocent hug and yet it was so full of emotions. I hated the fact that my wolf pushed and scratched inside me, not wanting to be near another man besides our mate, making me pull away.

"You'll be okay. I know you will. You've always been strong" .. he said as he ruffled my hair like he used to when I was a kid. He smiled and turned away to leave when I called for him..

"Elliot.." He turned around and faced me.

"Who is your mate?" I asked, not really wanting to know the answer, but my curiosity got the better of me.

"Does it really matter?" He asked as he smiled at me.

"I guess not" I replied to which he nodded and turned around to leave.

I watched him walk away till he was out of my sight. I sighed and turned around only to be met with those deep blue eyes, staring at me.

Was he like .. stalking me or something..

" You said you were going to the bathroom" he said.

"And I did" I answered as I walked past him, shoving him by the shoulder in the process. He grabbed my arm, a little to hard for my comfort, making me flinch slightly before I ripped it away from him and growled, my eyes glowing as I glared at him and yet he didn't budge.

"Did you come here to see him"

"That's none of your business "

He narrowed his eyes and looked at me straight in the eyes, not an ounce of fear in them.

"It is actually, since you're my mate"

I scoffed. It was really rich of him to throw that word around like it actually meant nothing to him. He didn't know the first thing about mates.

"Unfortunately " I threw back at him as I turned around and left him there.

I walked back to the crowd and tried my best to socialize, even though all I really wanted to do was sleep it all away like it was a nightmare, because that's what tonight was, an absolute nightmare. I lost the love of my life and got mated to an absolute asshole, who tried to kill me!

"How are you keeping up"

I turned around and saw Jake standing behind me with his mouth full again.

Did he ever stop eating..

"I'm fine.. I guess.. I'm not really sure how to feel right now" I said honestly. He nodded and stood next to me, placing his arm around my shoulder.

"It's understandable. I'm sure you're in complete shock, but you'll come to terms with it eventually "

"How are you so sure?"

"Well. its inevitable, you're bound to fall in love with him seeing as he is your chosen one and all, which if you ask me is completely fucked but hey what do I do? You just have to allow yourself to, give in and let your heart take over. He's changed over the years, unlike when he was snooty ass kid" he said as he smiled.

"Easy for you to say.." I said smirking.

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked holding a hand to his heart as if I'd thrown him with the worst insult.

"Don't pretend like you didn't stalk Henry when we were kids, you practically called me and went on fangirling when you realized he was your mate" I said pointing an accusing finger at him.

"I believe the term is fanboying, and no I didn't stalk him, okay maybe a little, but it wasn't as bad as you're making it seem." He said shaking his head.

I just laughed shook my head. I looked around and saw most of the people were starting to leave. I looked at my watch and saw it read two forty five. I secretly thank the Goddess I really couldn't take anymore of this night.

I said good night to Jake and Henry as they left. I looked around and spotted my Dad, talking to none other than Hunter. They seemed to be in a deep conversation so I just nicely turned around and tried to avoid them, only to hear my name being called out rather loudly I turned and saw my Dad calling me over. I mentally groaned and dragged my body over.

"Yes" I asked him when I finally reached them.

"I was just telling Hunter about all the teddy bears you used to sleep with when you were younger " I felt my face turn a bright red as he looked at me with a smirk.

"Dad , why would you even mention that" I said as I tried to hide my face.

"I had to to mention it, before he wondered why his house would be filled with teddy bears". I raised my eyebrows and narrowed my eyes at him.

He didn't really think we were going to live together right?

" You're moving in with him from tonight, so he needs to be prepared for all your weird habits" he said laughing.

I on the other hand did not find even one bit funny. To be honest. I felt absolutely horrified and outraged, there was no way I was going to move in with him, at least not now!

"What! why? I just got back and you're kicking me out?" I asked, trying ti make a joke out if it and hoping he would buy my act. Not missing the look on Hunter's face. His smile dropped and was replaced by a glare.

"You're his mate now Drew, you're supposed to live together, besides all your stuff is already packed and you can just move it into his house" he said.

Before I could say anything more, he was called and excused himself, leaving the two of us there alone in an awkward silence.I looked at Hunter, but he just glared at me and walked off.

Conceited asshole..

I braced myself for what was to come and some how I knew this was hardly the end of my night.
