《The Kings Human Queen》10. Field Trip

It had been 5 days since I woke up here. The only place I was allowed to go was the floor Xavier's bedroom was on. Luckily Elyssa and the kids lived on this floor too. Unfortunately so did Xavier's mother. She hadn't talked to me since the dinner from my first night here. I'd like to think we have a unspoken pack not to converse.
Since the first morning I woke Xavier up to make breakfast I haven't made that mistake again. If he thought I was gonna be his personal chef he had another thing coming. I still woke up early, I just laid in bed until it was time to get up for breakfast.
Each morning I was mortified to see that I always ended up on top of him hugging him in some way. Luckily I was able to untangle myself from him before he woke up. If he knew he didn't say anything.
Sitting at the breakfast table with everyone I was currently making faces with Colt who had become my lap monkey anytime he could.
"I'll be back around this afternoon." I heard Xavier's dad say. I hadn't been listening to what was being said before so I turned to see what was going on.
"Ok, have fun." Xavier said looking at his phone.
"You could go with me." his dad said hopefully.
"I've got too much on the schedule today." Xavier said not looking at his father.
His dad sighed picking at his food.
"Where are you going?" I asked
"I was thinking of going fishing today." He said
"Can I come?" I asked and was met with with 10 pairs of eyes staring at me in shock.
"Please I've been cooped up in here for the past week, I have never been inside this long in my entire life. I'm going stir crazy here. Plus I love fishing." I said at the end of my little rant.
"No." Xavier said
"Yes." I said challenging him
"No and that's final." Xavier said.
"I'm going." I said through clenched teeth.
"I'll keep her safe son." His father said taking up for me.
I smiled at him. At least he was on my side.
"No." Xavier said more forcefully.
"Please." I said acting sad with my bottom lip pouched out and puppy dog eyes that always worked on my Mom.
"Fine. Take Jimmy and David with you though." Xavier said giving in.
"When do we leave?" I asked Xavier's dad.
"15 mins." He said smiling.
I got up and ran to Xavier's room quickly rummaging through the closet to find something to wear. I ended up wearing a bikini and cutting a pair of blue jeans into shorts and grabbing a black t-shirt. I also put on my cowboy boots and threw my hair in to a bun.

I ran into the kitchen as Edmond was packing a cooler.
"What kind of boat do you have Eddie?" I asked as I grabbed a loaf of bread and and a package of meat as well as mayo and a tomato.
"Eddie?" He asked looking at me.
"Yea it's less stuffy than Edmond." I said looking for snacks.
Eddie grabbed the chips and some drinks.
"Nitro Z21 Elite." He said
"Sweet. Do we have enough food for everyone?" I asked
"Yup I think that's got it." He said loading snacks and some food containers in the second basket.
I carried the 2 baskets while he carried the cooler and followed him though the house til we ended up outside where a boat was already hooked up to a 4 door truck.
I loaded the baskets in the back of the truck and went to get in the passenger side only to find a steering wheel where the passenger sits.
Edmond came up behind me, "Other side Alex." He said chucking.
Feeling a bit numb I walked to the other side while my babysitters Jimmy and David got in the back.
After getting on the road I noticed he drove on the wrong side and then it truly hit me.
"I'm not in the U.S. anymore am I?" I asked quietly
"No Alex, your not." Edmond said looking at me with pity.
Sighing I decided not to let this new bit of news get to me on my first taste of freedom since I was brought here.
After putting the boat in the water and parking the truck the 4 of us set out on the river. After finding a spot Edmond handed me a fishing rod and even Jimmy grabbed a pole. David however sat in the drivers seat of the boat and read a magazine.
I baited my hook and sat in the forward seat and operated the trolling motor to keep us from bumping into the river bank.
"Your pretty good at that." Edmond commented.
"Been doing it all my life. I love hunting and fishing." I said.
"Did you do this alot with your dad?" Edmond asked
"That bast*rd, hell no. My Mom has always taken me. That woman once caught 10 fish with just a piece of styrofoam on a dare. She truly is amazing." I said missing her.
After 45mins I already had 4 fish while Edmond only had 1 and poor Jimmy couldn't even catch a cold.
I was really enjoying spending time with Edmond. I never had a positive father figure.
After 2 more hours and some small talk back and forth Edmond said "Maybe one day soon I'll teach you how to work on a car." He said smiling at me.

"Already know how. I rebuilt a 67 chevy with my brother when I was 12. I love working on older cars though, the newer ones and the computers in them are harder than a bear to work on." I said shaking my head.
"I think you may end up being the son I never had. Don't get me wrong Xavier is an amazing son, but he never was interested in cars, fishing or hunting. We've never really had anything other than the family business we could do together." He said looking out at the river as I pulled up another fish.
"Have you ever tried mudding?" I asked him
"What's that?" He asked.
"It's where you go riding 4wheelers after it rains and you sling mud, dirt and gravel everywhere, then before you spray off yourself and your 4wheeler you have a mud ball fight. It's fun." I said thinking back on all the times my Mom, siblings and I had done it.
"We will have to try that one day soon." Edmond said smiling
Taking the small catfish off the hook I turned to look at him. "There are catfish here?" I asked
"Yea, some really big too but I can't seem to catch them." He replied
"Bring your reels in." I said and started trolling us towards a shallow side. Once I got us where I wanted I slipped off my boots and shirt and slid into the water. It came up to my upper thighs. All 3 men looked at me funny.
"Hand me some gloves." I said
After getting them from Jimmy I slowly and carefully slid over to the edge and put my hands in the murky water feeling around until I had what I was looking for. I suddenly lunged and brought up a huge catfish and hauled it up to the boat smiling.
"Hand fishing is the best way to catch the bigger catfish." I explained. Even David looked up from his magazine impressed with my haul.
"Can you show me?" Edmond asked.
"Sure just don't disturb the water too much getting in." I said.
After we got 4 more huge catfish we decided we had enough fish for the day and packed everything back up and headed back to the truck.
After loading up the boat and getting in I had a question that had been bugging me since this morning.
"Where are we exactly." I asked.
"Scotland." Edmond simply answered.
I swiped away a traitor tear and turned the radio on as I didn't feel like talking anymore.
As we pulled up to what can only be described as a castle Xavier and Fergus met us out front.
"Well how did you all do?" Xavier asked
"We got 18 fish and 5 huge catfish, you've got to see the size of them son." Edmond said.
As we were unloading and Edmond was telling them that I had caught all but 5 of the fish we had, I heard soft crying coming from a little garden area to the side of where we were.
Worried I walked over to see if whoever it was, was ok and saw a small girl who looked to be 7 on the ground crying and 2 boys who looked to be 10 standing over her laughing.
"Cry baby." One of the boys taunted.
My blood boiled. I marched over to the three of them and grabbed both boys by their ears.
"What the hell do you think your doing?" I asked them
"Nothing lady let us go!" One of the boys shouted.
"Answer the question and show some respect to your Luna." Xavier said coming up to the side of me.
Both boys eyes went wide and showed real fear.
"W-we were just playing with Erica Sir." One of the boys said.
"Playing doesn't involve making someone cry." I said squeezing their ears a little harder.
"T-they said I-I would n-never be strong enough to b-be third in c-command." The little girl said.
"Were sorry." The boys said in unison.
"Nothing gives you to the right to bully someone else. Especially someone smaller and younger than you." I said in the scary voice my Mom used when me and my siblings would get in trouble.
I handed the boys over to David. "Take them to their Momma's and let them know what they were doing." I bent down to the boys level "And if I ever see or hear of you bulling anyone ever again I will not hesitate to get a switch and bust your asses. If your parents won't make you mind by God I will. Do you understand?" I asked them
"Y-yes Luna." They boys said before being taken away by David.
Turning to the little girl I bend down to her level and sat next to her. "Are you ok sweetheart?" I asked her.
"Y-yes Luna." She answered.
"My name is Alex. What's your name?" I asked her.
"Erica." She said.
"Well Erica do not listen to those boys. You are strong enough to be anything you want to be. Don't let anyone tell you any different. I'm gonna let you in on something that's a secret, but shouldn't be, girls are way stronger than boys. They couldn't handle half the things we do on a daily basis." I said smiling at her.
"Thank you." she said hugging me then running off back to the castle.
I turned to Xavier, Edmond, Fergus and Jimmy and asked. "What's a Luna?"
