"Jodha, which one do you want?"

"Which one?! Maasaa, come on, they are also humans."

"I know. I am sorry my little princess."

"Maasaa, where is Kaakisaa? I will need her help."

"Your Kaakisaa has taken leave for a few days."

"Why? Is she not, okay?"

"She is fine. Her husband is a little sick."

"Oh! Then we must send some food and money..."

"How kind of you, Jodha. You mother-daughter can barely manage to keep your stomach stuffed and here you are, offering alms to another beggar!" The Queen mocked. Before Champavati could protest, Jodha looked directly at the queen and laughed.

"I don't know about us but I guess you are under the impression that you have all the money in the world, but still, you have the heart of a beggar, Ranisaa!"

Ranisaa boiled with anger at Jodha's words. She was no longer the little kid who would bow down and apologise. She had grown up and was smart and independent enough to fight her own battles.

"Champavati, ask your daughter to apolo..."

"Queen Champavati..." Jodha corrected as she looked at Ranisaa with a stern face.

"How dare you cut me off?!"

"Well, if you have the brains of a donkey, I must step up!"

That was it, Phulvati was so angry she couldn't control herself anymore and slapped Champavati in front of everyone. Jodha looked at her but before she could react, Bhagwant Das arrived at the scene to control his mother and eyed Jodha to not speak any further. She wanted to take revenge on her mother's humiliation but controlled herself for her bhaisaa whom she trusted more than herself. She somehow composed herself and took Champavati in.

Later that evening, after making her mother sleep, Jodha decided to go out of the fort. She didn't even bother getting changed and simply walked to the entrance.

"Kunwarisaa, we are not allowed to give..."

"I am not requesting. It's an order."

"But Rajkumarisaa, if Rajasaa knows he will...."

"I will kill you right now if you don't hand the horse to me."

The nervous and scared guards did as instruct and Jodha rode off at a high speed. After reaching a certain distance, she relaxed. She realised the more away she was from her house, the more relaxed and happier she was. She tied her horse near the main bazaar and asked the people to take care of it as she decided to take a stroll. She was busy walking and thinking things. Her mother was always taunted by the Ranisaa and they couldn't do anything. Her mother was always her father's second choice and so was she. She looked at how his father always entrusted everything to Bhagwant Das and was never interested in giving Jodha and her sisters any priority. She remembered how she even asked and showed interest but he never gave her any task to prove her calibre. She was roaming around the streets and didn't care about the time as usual. She sat down for a while and then decided to meet kaakisaa and give her some food. She untied her horse and rode towards kaakisaa's house. When she had reached a certain distance, she tied the horse again and walked barefoot to kaakisaa's house but before she could knock on the door, she heard some weird noises as if someone was asking for help. She turned and followed the voice as she stopped seeing a young man. He had grabbed onto kaakisaa's neck tightly and she winced in pain. Her husband was lying on the floor, dead. Jodha covered her mouth to not get noticed. She was still young, only fourteen and she didn't want to get in any trouble but she couldn't let kaakisaa be. She decided to throw herself in to be in kaakisaa's place.

"Hey!" she shouted and the man turned around but she had hidden. She threw her bangles and shouted again, "I am the princess of Amber and I forbid you to harm the woman in any way."

"Jodha..." kaakisaa whispered as Jodha made herself visible. The man who was evidently very thirsty of Rajput blood marched towards the young princess. She trembled as he stepped towards her. When he was at a very close distance, he licked his lips and smirked at her. She was terrified but that didn't stop her from doing what was right according to her. As he stepped closer, he spoke up, "Princess of Amber? You are very tantalizing. I would like to gift you to the Padshah!"

"You are a Mughal?" Jodha questioned as her face turned pale. She had heard about their cruelty and she had prayed to her God to never let her face a Mughal. She stood straight as his hand moved forward and grabbed her shoulder. She winced and used her free hand to throw the sand on his face that she had kept in her hand for a long time now. The man growled and she eyed kaakisaa to leave.

"No Rajkumari! I can't..."

"Shut up and leave. It is my order." Kaakisaa had never seen the princess in so much rage ever before and left with her husband.

As kaakisaa left, Jodha also turned around to leave. The man growled and put his hand on her shoulder as she froze but he could not open his eyes and she sighed before brushing him off and running away.

"Jodha...?" Neela shouted for the umpteenth time.

Jodha shrugged her away as she covered herself with a quilt.

"Get up. What have you done that you are so tired?" Jodha opened her eyes to shout at Neela but then realization dawned upon her as to what had happened. She had been with Shehenshah the other night. She blushed as she recalled her memories.

"What are you blushing for?"

"No..nothing! Just get my bath ready."

"Sure."
