The sun was setting when she reached the forest. The only place that provided her happiness was the jungle since her childhood. She enjoyed the fresh air and freedom. She then took a bath in the nearby lake and walked for a while before deciding to sit at a place and enjoy the sunset.

It was getting dark and she decided to stay for a little longer as she enjoyed the darkness. It was giving her peace. She sat beside the lake which was situated near the forest. She embraced herself as tears engulfed her senses. She didn't want to, but she cried. She sobbed for a long time. She recalled how she had agreed to marry Jalal for her father and Amber's sake and how her mother had cut all ties with her. She was extremely heartbroken and then when she finally had a little happiness, Sabrina took it from her. Why couldn't she control her heart? Why did she always want him to be next to her? Why couldn't he be just hers? She cursed her fate for being born as a princess. If she wouldn't be a princess, she wouldn't be wed off to a king and she would have married a commoner who would only be hers. She hated sharing Jalal with other women. They had just started bonding but now that wench Sabrina took it all away. When she would lose all hope in times like this, she would recall the pretentious Mughal Badshah and it would give her happiness but that didn't help today. Clearly, she had fallen in love with her husband but he didn't know and she would never tell him that. It would make her appear weak in front of him and she didn't want that. She had clearly sacrificed her pride a lot many times in the past now and she wouldn't do the same now. Even if she told him how she felt, he wouldn't be elated. He would not even feel the same way for her. He would simply accept her as his wife, consummate their marriage and then leave her alone forever, and this was something she never wanted. So, she decided to control herself and let things be the way they are. If she would confess her love to him, she wanted him to feel the same way towards her but she knew he didn't and she couldn't live all her life with this emptiness and the feeling of never being accepted so she decided to give up.

The announcement of Jalal's arrival was made and Neela sat up. She thought she would die today. She had begged Jodha and Jodha assured her that Jalal wouldn't come but now that he did and Jodha wasn't here, Neela even thought of drinking the poison.

He came in and asked all the maids to leave and so Neela got up to leave too.

"Jodha, I have come here to talk to you."

She realized she was Jodha right now and cursed Jodha for putting her in this situation. She quickly took her hand out of his hold and stepped back and then lifted her veil and kneeled.

"Apologies Your Majesty, Jodha is not here and she asked me to pretend to be her."

Jalal was taken aback. "Where is she?" He roared.

"She..she has gone to take a stroll by the jungle."

Jalal did not waste any time talking to Neela and strode out of the chamber as soon upon hearing that Jodha was out and alone in the jungle. He left with a few people and a few arms as well. He did not want others to know about her and worry or cause a scene. So, he along with a few of his trusted courtiers got out in search of her.

Jodha sat by the lake as she recalled memories of times she had spent with Jalal. The realization that he couldn't be only hers was painful. But more painful was the fact that he did not even feel the way she felt about him. She felt like she belonged nowhere. Her mother had already abandoned her and Jalal too didn't love her. Amidst all this, she heard a familiar roar. She knew now that somewhere close there was a tiger. She didn't move or put an effort to run away. Death, she considered better than such a life and had given up. The roar neared with every passing second and a few minutes later she noticed the movement of a few bushes and then a pair of dangerous eyes. She gulped in terror. Being fed up was one thing and actually facing death, another. She got up on her feet and stepped back but at the same moment, the tiger appeared. Her heartbeat rose again just like it had the last time. Beads of perspiration formed around her head as she shivered. The tiger roared, and memories of the last time and she was saved flashed before her. She kneeled instead of running away. She realised that, unlike last time, no warrior would come to get her. She recalled the young man who had saved her, and how he pretended to be the Mughal Badshah. That memory itself caused her to smile. She looked into the tiger's eyes directly as her fear totally vanished from her face. She looked as pale as a stone. The tiger pranced on her as he was hungry for a week now. As it jumped, she closed her eyes and lightly embraced herself. She was covered in sweat all over now as she waited for her death but rather heard a loud shot. She was frightened and kept her eyes close.

"Jodha..." she opened her eyes and he was standing there, with a gun in one hand and his other hand forward to her. She looked into his eyes as memories from her past flashed again and her heart raced again as she looked into those deep eyes. She couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe that the young boy who saved her years ago was actually, like really the Mughal Badshah. He was not lying. She couldn't believe her fate. The fate that she cursed so bad was the one that united her with the man she had fallen in love with and used to recur in her dreams. A tear escaped her eyes as she realised how she had once joked about being the Mughal begum and today she was actually married to him. This realization made her so happy, she forgot about all her stupid worries as she took his hand for support and embraced him as soon as she got up. Jalal was taken aback by this sudden gesture of Jodha. He realised she was breathing heavily and her body was covered in sweat. He hugged her back to calm her down. He could not get angry with her now when she herself wasn't stable. She broke the hug to look at him as her hands were still around his neck. She smiled and looked serene. He couldn't recall when but he had seen those beautiful eyes somewhere.

"I can't believe you are actually the Mughal Badshah!" She said as he looked at her in confusion.

"What are you saying Jodha?"

"You don't remember the princess of Amber, or should I say the begum of the Mughal Badshah?"

Jalal looked at her for a second and was about to ask her whether she hit her head somewhere when realization dawned upon him. He recalled visiting Ajmer and then going for a hunt some years ago and then coming across a princess who pretended to be a warrior.

"You.... the Mughal Begum?" He asked startled and she nodded. He couldn't believe it. She indeed was the girl he had met that day. He had thought that she bluffed being a princess. How he had fallen for those mesmerizing eyes and the serene face that he had seen for a fraction of a second. He couldn't believe that she was standing right in front of him. He couldn't believe she was actually his wife now. How he had been captivated by those eyes and had wanted to know more about her. He couldn't believe it. Meanwhile, the soldiers thought that both Jalal and Jodha had lost their senses as they were just addressing each other as Mughal Badshah and Mughal Begum and then giggling like young girls.
