"Papa is Uncle going to be here soon" said the young girl with black pigtails. She had similarities to her grandfather which was already a worrying sign to her father.

"Soon, go see if your grandmother needs help with mama" her father said as he pulled out the turkey. It was thanksgiving and it was on this day that he would be seeing his older brother, they both agreed on one holiday to see each other.

He watched his daughter speed off into the other room to go see if they needed help. He smiled softly as he brought the cooked food to the dining table, he was happy even though times were currently tough.

His eyes flickered to his wife as she was wheeled in by her mother. She smiled fondly at him and he did the same, she was diagnosed with cancer a couple years back and now was in stage four. Some days she was better and some days worse. Today she was feeling ok.

He smiled at them and at his beautiful his wide was dressed and came over to her and kissed her on the lips, In which their daughter yelled out 'EWWWW'.

"Oh stop that now lets hurry up sit and eat" the grandmother said an annoyed voice. Even though she didn't do any of the work she still was being a pain in the ass. The beauty of in-laws.

"But uncle isn't here yet!!" The little girl cried.

"Ruby he'll be here soon" the mother said trying to soothe her. Ruby huffed and sat in a chair but looked rather unhappy.

"I don't like that man, him and his... friend. It's impossible to think you two are even related" the grandmother cursed.

"My brother is a great man, I'm sure if you spent time with him you'd like him too" he replied, like hell she would but it was a lie he'd keep telling her.

A knock was heard at the door and he rushed over to open it, his daughter jumping off the chair to be right behind him so she could see who was at the door.

"Craven!" Yelled the man in the door way and they hugged.

"Onyx! Your late" he said irritated into his brothers ear. Craven was always soft spoken and very homely with his family but his old arrogant ways flared up when his brother was around.

Behind onyx was a tall threatening man, who didn't look happy or angry about being there. His facial expression was just- blank.

"Hello Damien" craven said and Damien gave him a nod. Both the men had aged but not by much. They would've made great bachelors, too bad they've been married for 8 years.

The men walked into the house and onyx stopped when his niece jumped in-front of him waiting to be picked up. Onyx gladly did so and threw her into the air and caught her.

"Little Ruby you've grown so much!" Onyx said with a grin, and she smiled back at him.

"Your late! Uncle Onyx. Uncle Damien too!" She scolded and he laughed at her.

"I'm sorry, Ladies did we keep you waiting" he said turning to Cravens wife and mother in law. Onyx assessed his wife's current state, she wasn't in a wheelchair last he saw her.

"No worries onyx, I just got finished getting ready myself" Cravens wife said and he nodded as they all sat down. Ruby made sure she sat between onyx and Damien.

"How was the ride here?" Said Craven, trying to make small talk as he began to make plates for everyone. Onyx turned to Damien so he could say something but nothing was said so he nudged him with his foot.

"Good." Was all Damien said and onyx gave him a glare. Damien still wasn't much of a talker, onyx did that part for him usually.

"How's everything going?" Onyx said trying to make small talk and the grandmother glared at him.

"You know how it's going." Seethed the mother in law and onyx remembered why he didn't like coming here. It was because of that old hag.

"Mother please, it's been good Onyx. Cravens been promoted at the post office and Ruby's entered kindergarten" she said happily and onyx smiled back. She was a sweet girl that made Craven happy. They had met all those years ago when Craven was trying to get a hold of that land in Hicksville, she and her mother owned the land and she tried her hardest to get rid of him. She told him she wouldn't sell to any some shady type but his tenacity and non stop pestering was what brought them together.

The land he bought from her is the same land they live on now.

"What about you uncle Onyx? How's you're job" Ruby asked, she liked to listen about her uncles job as he told her many stories about it, but he only ever told them in secret or her dad would kill him. Mafia stories were not suited for a 5 year old.

"Good, making big business expansions. You know Ruby when your old enough you can work with me" onyx joked and craven almost spit out his drink. Damien even eyed him but kept his mouth shut.

"That's not funny Onyx" Craven sneered.

"I want to! I want to do it!" Ruby said excited using her fingers as a fake gun.

"Oh lord look at what he's taught her!" The grandmother cried and the mother laughed.

"I think it's cute" she said happily.

"You have a strange sense of the word cute Rhonda" craven said sighing.

"It's just a joke" onyx said, though it wasn't bad to suggest Ruby as a potential heir.

The night went on and they continued to eat and chat. Soon they were putting Ruby and the grandmother to bed.

"You think Damien's ok with that?" Craven asked Onyx as they sat outside, both with a beer in hand.

"With what? Reading Ruby a bedtime story? He might not look like it but he likes kids." Onyx said with a laugh, he sipped his beer and looked into the stars.

"It's been so long since dad died. Things have changed a lot" Onyx said lost in his thoughts and craven didn't say anything. He was just trying to make conversation, but they never talked about their father much anymore.

"You can ask you know. About Rhonda" Craven said sadly, onyx eyed him quietly and placed his bottle down.

"How much longer does she have?" He asked quietly.

"6 months. Give or take"

"I'm sorry." Was all onyx could say.

"I don't regret meeting her . I love the life I have now. Dads death led me here. So don't feel guilt about what happened back then" he said and onyx leaned back in the porch chair. He felt relieved hearing his words, onyx always felt a bit guilty of killing his father.

"I know, I'm glad your living the life you always wanted" Onyx replied.

"And how's your life? How's.. the family?" Craven rarely asked about the Giottos anymore. He had even changed his last name and cut off most contact with his mother after she cursed him for not taking over the Family.

"Good. Me and Damien have created a pretty strong empire. Everyone knows now about the strong alliance between the Giottos and Arifs, though nobody knows why we work so well together but they don't need to know" onyx explained.

"So your not planning to come out? That you two are married?" Craven asked and onyx shook his head. If he were to come out with such a thing, people would go crazy.

"Not for a while. I've gotta decide on a heir first." Onyx didn't know who to have replace him when the time comes. He knew of the other family members, but he really wanted to see if Ruby had the potential. It was t something to worry about now as he wouldn't be giving up his spot for a while now.

"She's asleep" Damien said coming outside and Craven looked at him in surprise.

"You actually got her to sleep? Well I guess I better go in then I'm sure my wife's waiting for me. Are you spending the night?" Craven asked and Onyx shook his head. Craven still couldn't be alone with Damien, he said it was just too awkward. Says Damien makes him remember his high-school days and that's enough embarrassment to kill him.

"No we have business to take care of in the morning, but we'll see you soon. We want to come by for Ruby's next birthday if that's ok." Onyx said and craven nodded and went back inside the home. Damien sat in Cravens place and it gave Onyx major deja vu.

"Ruby kept you busy" onyx teased reaching for Damien's hair, combing his fingers through his locks.

"Yes." He said moving his head more into Onyx's touch, like a big dog. Time had passed but their relationship stayed the same. Onyx was still a risk taker despite Damien's scolding and Damien still was overly protective despite Onyx's nagging. Things have been going smoothly since that day 8 years ago.

After Onyx's father had been shot, nobody gave much effort into stopping Onyx from taking over. Many Giottos didn't like him to begin with, seeing Onyx as a more promising leader. Having allied himself with the Arifs They ran their families together without many people realizing their relationship.

Damien was in a cover up marriage with Rebecca to help keep things secret. Though now she stopped coming over to their house and stayed in her own home with her own actual wife. The cover up marriage was simply to keep people from raising suspicion, and it worked awfully well.

While everyone else was having successfully marriages, Ramos was on his second divorce. Though he is doing good financially having bought a couple of his own nightclubs. Even Dimitri was having it pretty good now that he settled down and adopted a kid of his own.

"Would you like to live like this....like your brother" Damien asked him softly, his hand locking with onyx's.

"What like living normally? I like where I am, with you. I don't think I'm cut out for anything else but my work. but at the end of the day nothing matters anyways as long as I'm with you" onyx said truthfully, and they shared a kiss.

"That's what I like to hear, Onyx Arif" Damien said with a sly smirk and Onyx flushed.

"Ok Damien Giotto" onyx teased back. Damien got up and hovered over him as they kissed again, more passionate then the last.

"How about we finish this in the car" Damien said with lustful eyes. Even after all these years he still had the libido of a rabbit.

"You have such a way with words" he retorted but grabbed Damien's hand to drag him to the car.

They were happy, and even though they had there ups and downs it never mattered. A relationship brought together by fate a story onyx liked to tell Ruby.

A story he called Onyx Blues.

Wow... it's over. It's been I think two years? Since I've started this book and I almost had stopped writing it after chapter 8. You guys really gave me the motivation to keep going.

This book is not perfect, with its grammar flaws and wonky plot but I hope it was entertaining enough for you.

Even though this is the end of Onyx and Damien's story. I am thinking of a spin off, it won't be bxb but either gxg or gxb, the spin off I've had in mind for a while since it was another idea I had just connected to this book!

Anyways. Again thank you! For reading Onyx Blues.
