《Girls Talk [Girl x Girl]》Epilogue- Part Three

"Margo, Kate, Victoria..." Fox began sleepily, she had just had her wisdom teeth taken out so she wasn't entirely comprehensible.
"Hey Foxy," Margo smirked, momentarily twirling some of Fox's hair around her finger before leaning in to kiss her on her forehead.
"I'm in pain...where are my presents?" Fox asked.
"Presents?" Margo asked.
"We were pretty occupied Fox, we'll get you something soon though," Victoria stated.
I was glad that the two were on good terms now.
Fox gave a slight nod before looking towards something, which after a couple of seconds I realised was my hand.
"Is that a..."
"Yep," I said.
"Victoria and Kate are married," Fox gave a small smile, falling deeper into her sleepy state.
"We er..." Victoria trailed off.
"They haven't got that far yet," Margo said for us.
"Oh... I'm tired. Margo?"
"Yes?"
"I love you," Fox said.
"I love you too," Margo replied.
They were adorable, that was an undeniable fact.
Fox was pretty unresponsive after that, and the doctor came in to tell us that she would need to sleep off the anesthetic. So, that led Margo, Victoria and I to leaving the hospital and heading to the shopping centre, which I recommended we did.
"What do you need to get?" Victoria asked me.
"That would be telling," I said.
Victoria rolled her eyes in slight annoyance of me not telling her, but nodded, and headed off with Margo so I could go and get the surprise.
I had asked her a while ago what kind of ring she wanted, and unsurprisingly, she wanted a diamond ring.
Lucky for me, my royalties from getting books published helped me save up enough...just in case.

Victoria had been the one to propose though, and the thought of which made me turn rose even after a few hours had passed.
"Kate?" came a voice, a familiar voice, and when I turned to see who it was it became clear why.
Victoria's father.
Oh dear.
"Uh...I feel I owe you an apology." He stated.
I let out a breath of relief.
"You are a great person Kate, it was clear in how Victoria always used to talk about you. I just didn't want to open my mind to accepting it, but now I see how happy Victoria is and I'm glad you two are together,"
"Thank you, Mr Lace,"
"I hope you can forgive me but I understand why you wouldn't," he added.
"I forgive you...it took you some time to accepting it,"
He nodded, with a small smile of his own.
"I better get going, have to deliver this gift," he said.
"See you later," I said.
Before he completely walked out of the store, he turned back to me.
"Kate?"
"Yes?"
"What are you in here to buy?"
"It's a surprise," I said, and that statement rolled off the tongue easily.
He just nodded again, and then headed out.
I walked over to the counter to buy the ring.
"Whoever this is for is certainly special," the shop assistant stated.
"She is," I said.
After I had purchased the ring, I began to walk to where Victoria and Margo sat, a bench a few metres away from the store.
Luckily they hadn't noticed me heading in there.
"Hey cutie," Victoria pulled me into an embrace.
She smelt like vanilla, it was a comforting scent, as if between us the rest of the world and its problems had faded into the background, it could just be us. I smiled at that thought, and the feeling that lasted until she pulled away.

Margo adjusted her new beanie on her head, and leaned back against the bench, smirking at the two of us.
"Sooo," Victoria started.
"Sooo," I imitated.
Victoria grinned.
"What did you get me?" she asked.
"Oh...you assume it's for you?"
Victoria's face fell. "It isn't?"
"Nah it is," I stated.
Victoria's eyes were filled with slight amusement.
"I love you," I said, as I presented the ring to her.
Victoria took it and opened it, her eyes widening, and then they seemed to tear up slightly.
I don't think I had seen Victoria like this in a short while.
Crying tears of happiness, that is.
"This is beautiful," Victoria said, and then leant in to kiss me, I could taste cinnamon flavoured lip balm on her lips.
"I love you too," Victoria said.
We smiled each other for a couple seconds, and then Margo's belly rumbled.
"I don't want to third wheel you guys, think I'm going to go and get some food and take some back to the anesthetic dosed princess," she smiled.
"See you later Margo," I said, giving her a quick hug.
Margo headed off on her hunt for food.
Victoria moved closer to me and took my hand in her own, and we began to walk down the street past many shops.
"Are you tired?" Victoria asked me.
"No, are you?" I inquired.
She shook her head.
"Never been more awake in my life... except for the other day, when I went through a good three espressos in the space of an hour," she laughed lightly.
"Glad you made it out alive, partner," I said.
Victoria just winked.
"Kate, you're beyond anything I could have ever asked for,"
"It's because I put blueberries in your breakfast pancakes," I said.
Victoria smirked. "I knew that there was something," she added.
We walked on for a few more minutes through the brightening street lights and air that seemed to be getting colder...it was getting closer to Halloween now. There was only the peaceful murmur of other shoppers voices, until Victoria turned to me.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey," I smiled, but then noticed how serious Victoria's expression had gotten.
"What's up?"
"Kate, promise me we'll always be together?"
"I promise," I said.
"Okay..I knew, I just wanted to hear it said," she smiled, and kissed my cheek.
Eventually, Victoria decided that it was time to head back to our place, and I agreed, it was freezing outside, so we headed back.
Once we returned, Victoria leant down to scratch Butterscotch behind her ear.
"Time for bed, kitty,"
Butterscotch seemed reluctant to walk over to her bed, but eventually did so.
Victoria moved closer to me to wrap her arms around me.
It was then that I realised how sleepy I was.
Victoria pulled away and I had an amused smile on my face.
"What?" she asked.
"Race you," I said, quickly running to the bedroom to get ready for bed.
Victoria rolled her eyes.
"No fair, Kate!" she yelled.
After a few minutes, she was sat in the bed before me, her pyjamas and reading glasses on.
"Oh no, I've been defeated again," I gave a dramatic sigh before rolling into bed, my face hidden in the pillow.
"Plenty of time to get up your leg strength," Victoria joked.
I laughed gently, and kissed Victoria until we both fell asleep.
