《Maverick and Her Ways (GirlxGirl)》Almost Sexy Time

When I woke up, there was a foul taste in my mouth. Surprisingly, my head didn't hurt but I still feel a little light-headed from last night's drink. I realized that I was in my room, and was dressed in my pyjamas.

For a moment, I laid there in my bed wondering who dressed me, and how. I raked my brain from last night's events and vividly remembered kissing Dani a few times. The memory made me blush, and I rolled my eyes from my obvious giddiness.

The fact that Dani was the first thing that came into my mind when I woke up made me feel ridiculous, and flustered at the same time. Damn her, and her light brown eyes that I can't seem to stop thinking about.

Slowly, I sat up from my bed and blinked a few times to let my eyes adjust from the bright sunlight that was coming from my window. Then, I looked for my glasses and found them sitting on my bedside table.

My clock says it's quarter to nine in the morning, and I decided to go check up on my friends downstairs. I'm slightly paranoid that the mess would be major, but surprisingly it was really neat. As I made my way to the kitchen, I noticed that empty bottles, and anything recyclables are segregated in a big plastic bag. The garbage was also neatly tied up in a bag, and ready to be thrown. Counter tops were wiped, and I actually felt proud of my friends for being responsible and cleaning up after themselves. Gosh, I feel respected.

When I was getting myself a glass of water, I heard faint voices from the living room. I followed it with my glass of water in hand, and stopped in the middle of the hallway to see that Dani and Nat were cleaning up the living room.

"She's sensitive." I heard Nat say while she shoved potato chip wrappers in a garbage bag.

"I know." Dani replied.

"I don't think you do know." Nat continued. "Maverick can be very...-"

"Complicated?" Dani suggested, with a chuckle. "I know that Natasha."

It dawned on me that these two were talking about me, so I slowly backed away and pressed my back against the wall in the hall and sipped my water quietly. I knew that I'm eavesdropping, but I feel like I should listen to what they're saying.

"I've noticed, and correct me if I'm wrong but... You know more about Maverick, than Maverick knows about you." Natasha said, her voice questioning.

"I don't think Maverick has time for me right now." Dani replied. "But I do know that she's going through a tough time, and I'm going to help her."

"I want to help too." Natasha said. I heard a sigh coming from her. Then Dani asked,

"You're probably wondering why you're finding about this now?"

I frowned, wondering what they were talking about.

"Yes." Natasha answered, her voice sounding upset. "But not really. I knew something was going on between you two, but I wasn't really sure if it was actually happening because Maverick was really good at hiding it. You, on the other hand-"

"An open book?" Dani finished, and I swear I could hear the smile on her voice. "Yeah, I've heard that a few times."

Then, the two were silent for a moment. I could hear bottles clinking as they put them away, and the rustles of plastic bags. I wondered if this was the perfect time for me to barge in the room. But when I was about to walk in, Dani spoke,

"You know what's weird?"

"What?"

"You've met me before." Dani continued, chuckling.

"What do you mean?"

"I spent my whole summer here in Prince Albein when I was younger." She said. "I played with Maverick, you, Dennis, and Thomas every Sunday after church mass. But mostly with Maverick because you and the others always leave right away."

I was utterly shocked, and my eyes narrowed from this information.

"What? No way."

"It's weird, I know." Dani said again, now laughing.

"Does Maverick know?" Nat asked.

"Maybe." Dani replied. "I've been meaning to ask her if she remembered anything. I mean, it doesn't matter now because it was a long time ago. I just think it's cool that we were childhood friends for at least a short period of time, you know?"

"Well, how are you liking the small town then, since you're back?" Nat asked.

"It's okay." Dani replied. "It's better than the experience I had back at my house in Québec, that's for sure."

"What happened?" Nat asked.

I gripped my glass and gritted my teeth. If I was Dani in this situation, I wouldn't want to talk about it. She's been through so much, and so when she opened up to Natasha, I couldn't help but admire her for it.

"Just some major bullying, and family problems." Dani said nonchalantly. I frowned at how easy she brushed it off, because I know that she's very fragile at the subject. "I love it here. My grandparents are awesome, and I'm lucky enough to meet you guys again, so that's awesome too."

"If you don't mind me asking, are you in good terms with your parents?" Natasha asked, her voice careful.

"Um. No." Dani replied. "But I'm really close with my Aunt Susan, and my grandparents- That's enough for me."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"No, no, it's okay. I'm over that now. It was hard at the beginning, of course. But overtime, I realized that nothing's going to happen in my life if I keep on winning my parent's affection. Because if I did, that would mean that I would live a fake life."

"Wow." Natasha breathe out. "Dani, wow."

I heard Dani's laughter which made me smile. She's a strong and courageous person, and somehow- I aspire to be like that. Finally, I stomped my foot in the hallway to indicate that I was coming in.

"Hello." I greeted, a big smile on my face.

"Oh god, the royal highness is awake." Natasha said.

I took a big gulp of my water, and smiled sheepishly at Dani who was giving me a smirk. She probably knows that I was eavesdropping, and I rolled my eyes at the thought.

"Where did the others go?" I asked.

"Well, Gina went home already." Nat answered.

"What about Margo? Did she stay the night?"

Natasha's hand slipped from the bottle that she was holding and the bottle clanked loudly on the floor. Thank god it didn't break. I immediately went to help her.

"She left in the middle of the night." Dani answered, and came to help Nat as well.

"Oh." I said, then shrugged my shoulders. "Whoever changed me into my sleeping clothes last night, thank you."

"That'll be me." Dani said, which made my head turn to look at her. "You're welcome."

I just stared at her with a stupid blush on my face. This is not the time to be shy around her. It never bothered me before when she saw me on my underwear in the change rooms at school-

"Oh my god you two, get a fucking room." Natasha teased playfully and burst out laughing.

I rubbed my face to somewhat hide the blush away, but it was getting worse. It's a relief that Natasha knows about me and Dani now, well that's what I'm assuming because they were talking about me earlier. And knowing that my best friend is accepting about it made me feel happy.

Dani's silly lop-sided grin made me roll my eyes at her. She's loving every second of this.

"Um. Breakfast?" I asked them. And both nodded their heads in agreement. Natasha said that I should cook something for them while they take the recyclables and garbage out. With that, I gave them the thumbs up and was about to go back to the kitchen when Dani sneakily stole a kiss on my cheek while Natasha wasn't looking.

I narrowed my eyes at her and a stupid giggle came out of my mouth. I playfully pushed her away and basically ran away from her.

"Okay." I said to myself, and grabbing eggs, and bacon out from my fridge. "Okay, this is actually happening." My heart was pounding ridiculously and I took a deep breath. Seconds later, I can't seem to stop smiling. "Okay, this is real. This is really happening."

I also started preparing the waffle batter, and quickly pressed them in the waffle maker. Then, I cracked some eggs on our connected griddle on the stove then grabbed the pack of bacon to open it up.

I noticed then that I was humming happily to a song.

"Holy fuck." I muttered to myself in amusement.

Like a hysterical person, I laughed hard because of my unusual actions. Seconds later, Dani and Natasha came in to the kitchen and went to the sink to wash their hands.

"What's so funny?" Asked Natasha. She was giving me this look, like she was completely making fun of me. Of course she would know.

Dani on the other hand was laughing at the exchange look that Natasha and I were having. I rolled my eyes and told them to sit down on the stools against the counter.

"Thank you." Dani said when I handed her a plate of food.

I could only smile sheepishly at her.

The three of us ate breakfast comfortably with Nat's Spotify playlist playing in the background.

"Can you be my wife?" Natasha asked after she engulfed down half of her plate.

I scoffed and flipped my hair back sassily. Nat's phone dinged, and she quickly looked at it. A smile broke out of her lips, and a sigh of relief came out.

"Ooh, who is that?" I asked, and pouring myself a glass of orange juice.

"None of your business." Natasha replied, still smiling.

Dani was chuckling, then Natasha gave her a warning look. Dani held up her arms up in surrender, and I looked at them back and forth wondering what's up.

"Is it Marco?" I asked.

Natasha just shrugged, a silly smile on her face.

"Oh my god, who is it?" I asked, dying of curiosity.

Obviously I missed out a lot when I passed out last night.

"It's no one!" Natasha said, her smile not fading. "And I'm going to peace out after breakfast you guys. I'm going to my piano lesson this morning."

"Okay." I said, nodding my head. "Say hi to Marco for me."

Nat just rolled her eyes and shook her head at me.

"Are we ever going to talk about you, asking me out last night?"

"That really happened, huh?" I asked, chuckling and joining her on the couch. Dani flinched a little when I threw her arm around my shoulders while I confidently cuddled up against her.

"Yeah, it did." Dani said, and pulling me closer. "Are you regretting what you said? You were pretty drunk last night so I understand if-"

"Ugh, don't even start." I cut her off and smiled at her. "I genuinely think that we should be together."

"Whoa."

"Oh stop, you love this." I said, laughing and staring at her in amusement. "I wouldn't cuddle with you if I regretted it, you know."

Dani kissed my lips.

"You taste like bacon." I commented, and burst out laughing.

"Do you like bacon?" She asked, and was now leaning against me until I was on my back on the couch.

I bit my lower lip, because she was giving me this seductive look and I can't seem to look away.

"Yeah." I said with a nod. "But not a lot, because you know...-"

Dani trailed kisses on my neck.

"...it's going to clog my arteries-"

I reached forward to hold on to her cheek, and the other holding on to her hips. Her kisses gave shivers, and I adjusted myself under her so she had better access. With a single turn of my head, I connected our lips together and I burned with excitement and passion.

When Dani licked my lower lip, I whimpered and pulled her closer to kiss her harder. It was insane to think that I was too shy to do this with her. The thought of us making out in my living room gave me goosebumps, because it felt naughty.

Then Dani's knees moved in between my legs, and I moaned when the contact was made.

Then, I burst out laughing.

"What-" Dani started but it was muffled by my loud laughter.

I guess I ruined the mood because Dani was laughing hysterically as well. She probably already knows that I wasn't ready for whatever it is- if we keep going with our make out session. I don't even know what to do. Dani was the experienced one, or so I think.

"Damn it Mave, you're ruining the moment." Dani complained, chuckling and sitting up.

I blushed hard and was still laughing. I was saying sorry in between laughter, and kissed her face all over.

Dani had an adorable pout, and I kissed that as well.

"Don't worry, maybe we could have our sexy time someday." I said.

I guess what I said surprised Dani, because the look that she gave me was so priceless, I couldn't help but laugh again.
