After an hour of listening to Lexi ramble on and on about seeing her grandma and cousins, we finally made it to their house. It was very convenient that my parents and brother live in the same neighborhood that way we could just walk there for Avery's party.

"There's my beautiful girls." My mom announced coming from the house as Lexi and I got out.

Just as Lexi was about to rush into the house I called out to her, "Lexi Marie you better get your things out of the car before you go inside."

She threw her head back and groaned but did what I asked anyways.

I started to get my stuff out when mom walked over to me and just smiled widely at me.

"Yes?"

"Oh, nothing. Is that what you're wearing to the party?"

Looking down at my outfit I shook my head. Of course, I wasn't going to wear a baggy shirt and athletic shorts.

"No, I just put this on because I knew I'd be driving for a bit."

"Good and maybe do a little something with that hair of yours."

Gee thanks, mom.

"Okay, mother."

Going into the house I went straight to my old bedroom and put my stuff away helping Lexi in the process since she would be staying in the same room as me this weekend.

It was only ten and the party was at two so I had a little bit of time to relax before I had to get ready. By relax I mean taking a nap while my mom and Lexi go over to help Jeremiah.

Mom told me to stay back to make sure I looked presentable which I had no idea why but I did anyways.

Which for me meant I could take a nap until they came back. I had two hours to do so and then I would get up and get dressed.

I hadn't been laying down for long when my phone pinged with a message from Liam and it made me all happy inside. I hadn't texted him in a few days since he had been pretty busy which wasn't a problem considering I was too.

After the message he sent, I ended up falling asleep before I had a chance to text him back.

I was sleeping well until I heard my mom come into the room waking me up.

"Savannah! What are you doing asleep? I told you you do need to start getting ready!"

Groaning I asked her why "I just wanted a little beauty sleep and why does it matter if I get ready right now?"

"I guess it doesn't I just thought you wouldn't want to show up looking like you had just gotten out of bed."

"Fine, I'll get up and get dressed so you'll leave me alone. By the way where's Lexi?"

"She stayed over at Jeremiah's to hang out with Avery."

"Okay well if you don't mind I need to get a shower."

Closing the door behind her I grabbed a change of clothes and headed into the bathroom to do everything I needed to get ready.

When I was done taking a shower I got out and put on my dress which was a floral v-neck maxi dress that was the perfect thing to wear. After putting on the dress I began drying my hair so that I could curl it.

It took me about an hour to fully get ready and by the time I was finished, I felt satisfied with my appearance I went downstairs to where my mom and dad were sitting on the couch waiting for me.

"I can't wait for Avery's party. She's going to be so surprised." I heard my mom say as I ascended the stairs and I was curious to know what they had planned.

"What's the surprise?" I asked her which seemed to startle her and my dad.

"Oh, sweetheart we didn't hear you come in." She turned around and looked at me with wide eyes and a big smile.

"My gosh, you look beautiful."

"Thanks, mom but really what's the surprise?"

"I can't say but just know it's going to be the best thing ever."

What could it possibly be that I can't know about it?

"Okay, then whatever you say."

"It's time for us to get going." My dad said changing the subject to which we all agreed.

I grabbed Avery's birthday present and then we all headed out the door and toward Jeremiah's house which was surrounded by a lot of cars meaning everyone had arrived.

Out back the party was in full swing as the kids were running wild playing in the inflatables that were in the backyard. When Avery spotted me she ran over and hugged me as I hugged her tightly back.

"Aunt Savannah!"

"Hey, Avery, happy birthday."

"Thank you! I'm glad you came and brought Lexi!"

"You're welcome and I wouldn't have missed this for the world. Besides it's not every day you turn 7."

"Yeah, it's great!"

"Avery come here!" a young girl shouted waving her over to the girl and her friends.

"Coming! See you later."

That left me alone until Jeremiah and Laura approached me hand in hand. They each gave me a hug welcoming me.

"Hey sis it's good to see you."

"You too, and Laura it's good to see you it's been forever." I looked over at her with a smile having missed the both of them.

"It's always nice to see you I love it when you come here and help me bug your brother it's always fun."

"Hey! I'm standing right here you know."

"I know babe." Laura laughed, "that's why I said it."

He put his hand over his heart offended but laughed with her and it was the cutest thing. They both were the cutest couple.

"You guys just love picking on me and it's not fair because I have no one to help me pick on you or Savannah for that matter."

"Why would anyone want to help you pick on us?" I asked, "we are the sweetest people ever there's no way anyone would help you do such a thing."

"Ha, you guys just want people to think your sweet when in reality you're not."

Placing an arm around Jeremiah's waist Laura placed a kiss on his cheek before saying, "I'd tread very carefully with your words if you want something later tonight."

Yuck!

"And that's my cue to leave. I'll catch you guys later."

"I doubt that." I heard my brother mumble under his breath as if I couldn't hear him.

Whatever that's supposed to mean.

Walking away I made my way over to the drinks table and looked for something to get me through this party but there were no adult drinks outside so I made my way inside.

I went through the kitchen searching for wine when I finally found a bottle.

Jackpot!

I grabbed myself a wine glass and poured myself some as I took a seat at the bar and took a sip enjoying the quietness until I went back outside having finished the wine.

"There you are," my mom said walking over to me, "where were you?"

Why is she so concerned about my where's outside?

"I was just inside getting something to drink."

"By yourself?"

"Yeah, why?"

"No reason I was just curious."

What is with everyone today?

"Mom, what is going on with you and everyone?"

"It's nothing Savannah I swear I was only asking."

Somehow I didn't believe her but I didn't question her anymore.

Mom opened her mouth to say something else but she stopped immediately looking past me and smiling.

Turning around I was met with someone I didn't expect to see today.

"Hey, Savannah."
