Hiding.

That's all I could think about when I saw Mason and Carmen hand in hand in the hallway at work.

I didn't want to see them and I didn't want them to see me because then I would have to communicate with them and I didn't have the energy for that.

But where I needed to go was where they were currently standing with their tongues down each other's throats.

And all I could think about was the night I found them in bed together.

Reliving that night was not something I wanted to do even though some nights I dreamed about it which I hated.

It was my lunch time and my food was in the break room. I could always just create a diversion like yelling fire.

No that wouldn't be a good idea. I guess I'll just have to toughen up and interrupt them to get in there.

Hell, I shouldn't have to worry about interrupting them they are the ones that can wait till they go back to his place to be kissing or whatever it is they do.

Just thinking about it makes me sick.

I've got this!

With big strides, I started walking towards them as I was determined to get my lunch!

Nothing going to stop me now.

Until I heard that one voice that made my whole world stop.

"Savannah!"

It's Liam.

Turning around I noticed him approaching with a smile and a bag from McDonald's.

This man certainly knows the way to my heart.

He not only got my attention but Carmen and Mason's also. If they didn't know I was here they certainly did now but I'm not complaining because I get to see Liam.

Hopefully, this whole ordeal won't make Mason mad I did not want to listen to him if he found out what was going on between Liam and me.

Not that it's any of his business.

I didn't worry about them I just focused on Liam and greeting him.

"Hey, Liam." I smiled in return waiting for him to tell me what he was doing there as I approached him.

Not once did he mention that he would be coming but I should've known when he asked what time my lunch was.

"If it isn't my favorite person."

"And your mine too you know besides Lexi of course."

"What about Lexi?" I heard a voice say from behind me and I immediately rolled my eyes.

Go away.

Liam noticed my eye-rolling because he gave me a questioning look when I raised my left hand and pointed to my ring fair to give him a hint before turning to face Mason.

Why did he feel the need to interrupt?

"Nothing Mason."

I didn't need to tell him anything. I get Lexi is his daughter but I was having a conversation that didn't concern or involve him.

"Don't say nothing Savannah I hate when you do that shit besides when it comes to my daughter I think it involves me."

Asshole.

When he got that tone with me Liam stepped in being all protective and it was hot.

"Dude seriously chill out. You don't have to be such a jerk, we were just having a conversation and she just happened to mention her name. There's no need to be rude to the mother of your child."

"Listen I don't know who you are but we are trying to have a conversation and here you are interrupting us."

At this moment I have no idea what I saw in him.

"Lis-." Liam started to speak but I did instead as I was going to stick up for the both of us.

I was going to do whatever I could to resolve this, I didn't want an argument to break out.

"Mason stop it!" I said angrily with a whispered voice "you have no right to come over here and be rude to the both of us when you don't get your way. And it was seriously nothing I just brought her up and not to mention she isn't just your daughter she's our daughter!"

"Not to mention you didn't see me interrupting you when Carmen and you were making out in the hallway."

I could tell Carmen was embarrassed but Mason on the other hand was pissed as he looked between me and Liam like he had any reason to be mad.

"Whatever!" He scoffed, "Let me just say this, and then we're leaving if he's anything more than a friend I'd like you to introduce him to me properly before you bring him around Lexi."

Jokes on you he already has!

I should probably tell him I have but I'm on my lunch and I didn't want to start something else.

I also wanted to say you didn't do that with Carmen before you brought her over to our house and slept with her in our bed.

But I didn't even though I wanted to.

"Okay, your majesty."

Liam and I then walked away and towards the hospital entrance to sit outside and eat.

"Sorry about that, Mason can be a real jerk sometimes," I said once we got outside.

"It's okay, at least I was able to meet your ex-husband, and let me tell you my first impression is not what I expected."

"To be honest I expected worse. Hopefully, he doesn't scare you away."

If I were him I'd get out while I can and never come back but I don't think I'd like it if he left because of Mason.

"Nothing will ever scare me away especially not him."

And I believed him.

"I'm glad to hear you say that."

"Good because I meant every word."

While we sat there and ate I thought about what Jeremiah said about inviting Liam to Avery's birthday party this weekend and I decided it would be nice to bring him.

I'd like the company for sure.

Don't get me wrong I love my family and little kids, I'd just like to be able to talk to someone other than them.

"Are you free this Saturday or do you have to work?"

"I'm actually off this Saturday my sisters coming over and we are going to hang out for a little while."

That sucks that he's not available but it's not a big deal we all need to spend time with our family every once and a while.

"Why do you ask?"

"Eh, it's nothing," I told him before I started eating again.

He took a bite of his food and then asked me once again what it was.

"Come on just tell me?"

"I swear it's nothing besides your plans are better than what I had planned."

There's no way he would want to go to a kid's birthday party anyway.

"That can't be true."

Oh, it's true alright.

"Yeah, it is I was going to see if you wanted to go with me and Lexi to my niece's birthday party but you're going to be busy so I'm not going to bother you with that."

"It's no problem at all I can spend time with them some other time."

"Absolutely not. There's no way I'm going to let you take time away from your family to hang out with mine."

Looking back at him I could tell he was relieved that I was okay with it.

"You're the most amazing girl in the world, you know that?"

"I don't know about that, but I appreciate the compliment if it's coming from you."

"Anything for you."

He has no idea how happy I am that I ran into him that day in the coffee shop.
