《A Second Chance At Romance》Thirteen

"Lexi Marie Peterson! I called her by her full name making her whip around.
I knew that would get her attention.
"Yes?"
"That was kinda rude don't you think? You can't just go up to someone and ask who they are without so much as a hello" I told her as she uncrossed her arms while I continued, "also why in the world would you ask him such a question?"
"I didn't mean it that way, mama."
Liam held up his hand and said, "It's okay Savannah I promise I'm not offended or anything. I know kids have a habit of being blunt about things."
I nodded my head in complete agreement before he got down to her level and held out his hand for her to take with a smile.
"Hello there Lexi, I'm Liam Harris."
Taking his hand in hers she shook it and returned the smile, "nice to meet you, Liam."
"The pleasure is all mine."
"So mama, is he your boyfriend?"
She has no filter what's so ever.
Liam and I exchanged another look before I told her exactly what was going on.
"No, he's not my boyfriend. He and I are just friends."
For the time being if all goes perfectly. I know he and I weren't exactly friends or boyfriend/girlfriend for that matter but I needed to tell her something.
I hate lying to her but I didn't want to introduce him as anything more just in case it didn't go anywhere.
"Okay! Well, I'm going to go watch tv, so can I have some soup?"
"Yeah go on in the living room and I'll bring it to you in a minute."
She did as I said but not before turning back to Liam, "C'mon Liam you can help me pick a movie."
Lexi gestured for him to follow her and he did. I on the other hand went into the kitchen and grabbed a bowl out of the cabinet and put some soup into it. While I let it cool for a minute I grabbed my phone and ordered Liam and I's food.
Once I did that I went into the living room where Lexi and Liam were seated on the couch watching Frozen.

I'm not even the slightest bit surprised.
"Are you sure he even wants to watch Frozen?" I asked her knowing it was her idea.
"Duh, he said that's his favorite movie."
I looked to him for confirmation and he just winked and smiled.
"Okay, then Frozen it is."
I then sat her food on the table and went to sit on the recliner since the couch was occupied by Lexi and Liam. Lexi began to eat and when she did she invited me over to sit with them.
"There's plenty of room in between us."
They both scooted over and made room for me as I made my way over and sat between them. When I took a seat Liam took the opportunity to put his arm around my shoulder and rested it there.
Lexi didn't notice though as she was too busy eating and watching the movie. You could distract her when she was busy watching Frozen it was like she forgot about everything when it was on.
"Oh while I was in the kitchen I ordered our food. It should be delivered to us in the next forty minutes or so. I hope you don't mind waiting." I looked over at him and said quietly not to interrupt his and Lexi's favorite movie.
"No, not at all." He whispered back, "I have to be honest I like being here. I can't help but feel at home."
That last part made me feel happy inside. Maybe that means he sees us going somewhere.
"I'm glad you think that."
If Lexi wasn't here I'd kiss him but that would just have to wait until later.
We were having a nice moment when Lexi turned around and began talking with food in her mouth.
"Mum dis is good."
I wasn't an expert at cooking and this was my second time making this soup so I was glad to hear that she thought it was good.
"Thank you, sweetheart."
Leaning forward I hugged her and placed kisses all over her face showing her just how much I loved her and appreciated her compliment.
"I love you."
"I love you too mom."

She was already finished with her food so when I scooted back against the couch she rested her head in my lap with her teddy in her arms watching the tv.
I never wanted her to grow up.
She will forever be my baby girl.
A couple of minutes later her eyes began to slowly close as she drifted off to sleep.
"She looks so peaceful." Liam leaned over and said quiet enough not to wake her.
"She sure does."
We both admired her until the doorbell rang and I was relieved because I was hungry. I was about to get up but Liam offered so that I wouldn't wake Lexi after he got up from the couch she stirred and sat up rubbing her eyes.
"Mama, can I go to bed?"
"Of course, you can sweetheart."
"Okay, good night love you."
"I love you too."
Taking her teddy with her she headed up the stairs and to bed while Liam came into the living room with two bags of food.
Shoot!
I forgot to tell him there was money on the counter to pay for it!
"Where'd she go?" He asked when he looked around and noticed she was nowhere to be found.
"She went upstairs to bed I think being sick is making her a little tired."
"Yeah, it probably is. She sure is a cute and funny little girl now that I've officially met her."
"I'm glad you think so because she's my whole world."
"I can tell and that's a very good relationship to have," he said as he placed the food on the coffee table and took a seat next to me.
He and I then got everything out of the bags and sprawled it on the table. Before we began eating I went to get us a drink from the kitchen. We both decided it would be best to just have water.
I didn't think it would be a good idea to drink with Lexi sick and Liam would be driving when he leaves so it wouldn't be responsible.
Handing him the bottle of water he thanked me and we started to eat. The food tasted as good as it smelled. My favorite part of this whole meal was the egg rolls.
"Chinese was a good choice," I confessed taking another bite of my egg roll.
Liam nodded his head in agreement as he continued chewing on his food.
"I agree especially since it came from my favorite restaurant."
The food tasted good and all but I'm sure he taste better. I thought to myself which surprised me that my mind did a full 180.
My mind then drifted to him and me sharing a kiss that eventually turned into something more. I came back to reality before my thoughts got too r-rated.
"So Liam tell me about your day."
* * *
After we had finished eating and had everything put away we went back into the living room and sat on the couch but not much longer because he had to leave soon since he had to get up early.
"I had a good time tonight Savannah." He confessed grabbing my hand and holding it in his.
The physical contact between the both of us made something flip inside of me making me crave more.
I wanted more but I don't think I could handle it. It was still way too early for anything more than kissing so I restrained myself the best I could.
It's hard to do when you have a sexy man sitting in front of you.
"Yeah me too," I said back as I tried my hardest to stay relaxed.
Now he had both my hands in his as he started to lean closer and closer until our faces were just inches apart. We looked deeply into each other's eyes until finally, our lips touched.
The first time we shared a kiss I felt like a teenage girl again and I'd gladly take that one over my first.
Our second time was just as good maybe even a little bit better, it got a little more hot and heavy.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling myself up so that I was now straddling him. Deepening the kiss I let my hands roam and he did the same rubbing both his hands up and down my back.
I could get used to this.
