《A Second Chance At Romance》Ten

"You sure you'll be okay?" I asked Lexi for the hundredth time making sure she was really wanting to stay the night at Ellie's house.
"Yes mama, Ellie has a lot of stuff for us to do." She assured me while going on and on about everything.
"Have fun okay, and if you need anything Mallory's got my number so you can just call me."
"I will love you."
With that, she hung up the phone before I could even tell her I loved her. As long as she's having fun I won't call back she knows I love her and that's what matters.
Instead, I got back to wondering how Liam and I's night out was going to go, and to say I was nervous would be an understatement. More like I was terrified I had no idea what to expect or how it was going to go.
All day at work I had so many scenarios running through my mind and I just hoped the good ones were the ones that would happen.
I did feel a little better about going out though since he asked me. After all, we had been texting nonstop and that made me really get to know him and start to feel comfortable.
He'd be picking me up in a few hours and I had no clue what to wear so I called for backup which for me was June. She should be here any minute so to help calm my nerves I went and poured myself a little bit of wine.
When the doorbell rang I knew it had to be her so I made my way over to it and swung it open and there she was with a smile on her face and makeup in her hand.
"The party has arrived!" She announced walking past me and inside while I closed the door behind her ready to see what she had planned.
"Thank goodness. I would be so lost without you."
"No you wouldn't but I appreciate it that you asked for my help. Now let's see what we can do."

We went straight up to my room and she went through my entire closet making some comments here and there about one being "too flashy" or "too boring."
Honestly, I didn't know if I wanted to go with a dress or a fancy top and pants. What did people like to wear out?
A part of me wanted to go casual but since it was a fancy restaurant I knew I had to go in a nice dress.
"How about this one?" June asked holding up a black round neck dress that had loose ruffles that were causal and by far my favorite dress.
"That one will be perfect."
"Oo and it would look great paired with some nude heels and maybe a simple eyeshadow look with a shimmery color."
"I like the idea and I'm sure you will make me look great."
What she had in mind sounded perfect and I couldn't wait to see the result. I really want to feel beautiful tonight.
"Anything for my best friend, now let's get to it."
First, she started with my hair which all we had planned on doing was curling it. I didn't want to do a fancy updo so this was the best option for me.
"You have to let me know how it goes I want all the details especially if you both kiss or more importantly have sex."
Sex? Hold up I never said I was going to go that far. I'm not the kind of girl to do that, especially on the first date or any date for that matter. First I have to make sure we have a great connection and are compatible.
"I'll tell you the details but you won't be hearing anything about me sleeping with him because I will not be doing that."
"That's fine anything you wanna share is okay with me."
"I'm hoping it will go good so there's something to tell."
"Trust me there will be something to tell he sounds like a nice man and I have a feeling that you both will hit it off."

I sure hope we do if not I'll be alone for the rest of my life while Mason's out there living the good life married and with another kid.
"Liam does seem like a nice man but I've only been texting him for less than a week besides we've only seen each other out in public like three times."
"You both will have an opportunity to get to know each other tonight and see fate has a way of bringing you both together."
Not fate more like a coincidence, but I wasn't going to tell her that she believes in that sort of thing.
"What if I don't know what to say?" I asked worried that I wouldn't be able to keep a conversation going between the both of us.
With the curling wand in her hand, she continued to curl my hair while she assured me that it wouldn't happen.
"Listen you both have been messaging each other none stop I'm sure you both will have plenty to say trust me."
"You're right I shouldn't let that bother me."
"Yeah you really shouldn't, now let's get that makeup on."
Turning the curling iron off and placing it on the vanity she reached for her makeup bag and grabbed out what she needed for my makeup. June only spent a couple of minutes on it and when I turned around and looked in the mirror I was shocked to see how amazing I looked.
The eyeshadow she applied made my eyes stick out and it was beautiful I wish I was good at makeup like she was.
"It's perfect" I spun around and told her while getting up in the process to embrace her in a hug to thank her, "you've done an amazing job and I'm really happy with it so thank you for everything."
She gladly accepted the hug as she told me how appreciative she was.
"I'm glad you like it. You know I'd do anything to help you out, especially on a night like today."
While she gathered her stuff up to leave I made my way into my bathroom and changed into the dress which complimented my body. I felt beautiful for the first time in a while and comfortable which was good.
I looked at my appearance one last time before I exited the bathroom and back into my room where June was now waiting for me.
"Damn you look hot," She said eyeing me up and down as I approached her "he won't be able to take his eyes off of you."
"That's my plan," I said confidently hoping I'd be able to accomplish that.
Both of us then left my room and headed back downstairs because June had to get home but before she did she made sure to wish me luck on her way out.
"Have fun and good luck. Don't forget to text me all about it I'll be waiting by my phone to make sure you do."
"I will I promise."
With one last goodbye, she was out the door leaving me alone to wait for Liam to arrive. I checked the time on my phone and luckily I didn't have to wait that long since it was almost time for him to get here.
I was sitting on the sofa when the doorbell and when it did I started to freak out a little.
What if I trip and fall in front of him?
Or what if I embarrass myself somehow?
I'll just say a quick prayer and hope that I don't make a fool of myself. After I did a little prayer I made my way over to the door and opened it up to reveal Liam looking like an absolute snack.
"Hey Savannah, long time no see."
