After a long and exhausting week, it was finally Friday and I couldn't have been more excited. Not because I was off this weekend but because Lexi would be back home in two days.

I was missing my girl so much that when she wasn't around I was lonely as heck. That's why every day after work this week I'd come home curled up on the couch and watch romance movies with my ice cream.

I think I watched The Notebook at least 5 times this week. And I was not embarrassed at all since it was my all-time favorite.

Tonight I was going to do the same thing once again but when I went into the kitchen to get some ice cream I noticed that I was out.

Looks like I'll have to go to the store and get some. And so I grabbed my purse and keys and headed out the door and towards my car. Luckily the grocery store up the road was still open so that's where I went.

Once I was inside I went to the frozen aisle and immediately looked for a rocky road. I just grabbed one at first and then I figured what the hell two will be better. On my way to the checkout, I was stopped by someone calling my name.

I quickly turned around and was met with familiar brown eyes that belong to Liam the guy from the coffee shop. He was looking fine in the police uniform he was wearing.

"Oh hi!" I stopped and turned around to greet him.

"How are you?"

"I'm doing pretty good, and yourself?"

"I'm good just been pretty busy with work."

"I know the feeling. The hospital has been crazy these past few days."

And it had but that's what kept me busy and not bored. Just as he was about to say something else my phone began to ring startling me.

Looking at the caller ID I noticed it was Mason, so I told Liam to hold on while I answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey Savannah, I'm going to need you to come to pick up Lexi." He said on the other end of the line with no explanation.

She still had two more days there I didn't understand why she was coming home.

"Why?" I asked kind of irritated.

"Can you just come to get her, please? I'll explain later."

Now he was worrying me!

I didn't say anything else I just hung up the phone and turned my attention back to Liam who was watching me with worried eyes.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, my ex-husband just wants me to go pick up my daughter from his house."

He looked a little surprised when I mentioned I had an ex-husband and a daughter, but I wasn't sure why.

"Oh, then I should let you go. I'll see you around."

"See ya."

With that, I went and paid for the ice cream before leaving and heading to Mason's house. Once I got there I went up to the door and knocked like three times until someone finally answered the door.

Luckily it was Mason and not Carmen because I was kinda upset and wanted to speak to him and if it was her I don't know what I would've said.

"Now what was the reason I had to come to get Lexi that you couldn't tell me on the phone?"

"Carmen and I have to go somewhere and I don't want to worry about Lexi being bored or anything."

Are you kidding me?

"And where might that be? You know she still has two more days why can't you postpone wherever you're going? You and her can go out another night when Lexi is not here."

"You see we can't do that because this is something serious. Carmen and I have got to go to the hospital and we can't keep waiting so can you like hurry and take her home."

Pushy much but I guess whatever it is must be serious.

"Fine. Where is she?"

Just when I asked where she was she popped up behind him with her stuff ready to go.

"Right here, mommy."

"Hi, baby." I said picking her up and kissing her on the head, "you ready to go home?"

"Yes!"

"Okay, let's go."

She told her dad goodbye before we left and headed home. On the drive, she told me all about her time at her dad's and I could tell she had fun.

"Mommy, what does it mean when's someone's pregnant?" She asked me out of nowhere catching me off guard.

Where the heck did that come from?

"Uh, why do you ask?

"I overheard daddy and Carmen talking about it."

"Oh um well being pregnant means they're going to have a baby."

I didn't know if she understood what it meant but I put it the simplistic way I could hoping she wouldn't ask anything more about it.

"If they do have a baby do you think daddy will forget about me?"

It hurts to think that my baby might believe that.

"Baby listen to me if they do your dad will not forget about you. You'll always be his little girl and mine."

"Good cause I love you and daddy."

"I love you too sweetheart."

Back at home, it was getting late so I put Lexi right to bed but instead of sleeping in her room she wanted to sleep with me and I didn't object.

That night after she fell asleep I stayed awake thinking about Carmen being pregnant and how if he never would've cheated it might've been me.

But now I wasn't worried about that I wanted to know what I did wrong to make him even consider cheating. So that night I cried myself to sleep thinking about our life if we were still together.
