"Hello"
"Kasiyah."
"Yeah that's me? Guys be quiet back there." she said to the kids in the back.
They were all in the car currently on their way to see Kasiyah's mom.
"It's Tremani."
"How did you get my number?"
"Kasiyah that don't matter, I need you to call my friend."
"Wait what, it does matter Tremani."
"Ok but not now, call this number."
"No. Bye Tremani I'll see you on the weekend."
"Kasiyah just do it."
"Why."
"He's supposed to handle something for me, he's gonna help me get out of here but I can't call him because my CO is on my ass."
"Kasiyah who are you talking to?" asked Kamiyah.
"Who's that?" asked Tremani.
"Hey Kasiyah's friend."
"One of those kids right?"
"Yup, send me the number and leave me alone. bye." and she ended the call.
Kasiyah's phone pinged right when she received a text from Aniyah.
I heard mama's cooking , I'm pulling up :)
Kasiyah laughed to herself. Within a few minutes she reached her mothers house. Her mother still lived in the projects, no matter how many times she tried to convince her to move in with her or buy her a new house, her mom would refuse.
Her mom never liked what happened in the hood but she liked to see people grow out of it, she felt proud seeing young boys turn from their bad ways to go do something better with their lives and leaving that to live in an area where it wasn't normal for her just didn't sit right with her.
Quickly, Kasiyah unbuckled her seat belt and went into the back to get all the kids out with their little bags they had in case they needed anything.
"Yall ready?", asked Kasiyah.
"What shall we call you mom?", asked Sekani.

"Kasiyah save me from striking this boy, memaw we call her memaw!", she said pouting her lips.
"How you didn't know that?", asked Pablo.
"Come on guys let's go." as they walked to the front porch they turned there heads to the sound of continuous beeping.
"Aniyah's here!" yelled Kamiyah.
"I see Tamari's dumb ass too!" yelled Sekani.
Kasiyah cut him a side glare like her mama used to give her. In return Sekani held his hands up saying sorry.
Pablo was now hiding behind Kasiyah on the front porch because he didn't know these people. Kasiyah was surprised that her mom hadn't heard all the noise and just opened the door but she figured she was in the far kitchen.
"Pablo it's ok, don't be shy." said Kasiyah prying him from out behind her.
"Pablo you ain't got to worry i'm Auntie Ny Ny." said Aniyah.
A small smile grew on his face but it fell once he saw the mug on Tamari's face. "Aniyah you foul, you didn't even introduce me to my niece?" he said mugging her.
"Boy if you do no-
"Don't call me uncle Tamari, I'm just playing, she wants to be blood with yall so bad it's disgusting, call me homie, uncs, Tamari. Imma answer to any." he smiled shaking Pablo's hand.
"Kids call him a hoe. He'll answer.", smiled Aniyah.
"Aunt Ny Ny says a bad word." laughed Kamiyah.
By this time Kasiyah had already rang the doorbell to go inside. The door flew open with her mom in the door way with a big smile plastered onto her face.
"Oh my baby! Hot are you doing?" she said hugging Kasiyah tight.
"I'm good ma how are you?"
"As long as you here Im good." she smiled warning Kasiyah's heart.
"Ohhhh you brought more babies, look at em they are so beautiful. Call me me maw" she said lowering down to their level.

As a result Kamiyah folded her arms and looked at Sekani with that "mhm, I told you so" look making Sekani roll his eyes and Pablo giggle.
"And you must be Kamiyah." she said hugging her lastly.
"Yes I am, Ma'am."
"She's just as sassy as I thought she'd be." said Kasiyah's mom looking up at her.
"Thank you." Kamiyah said smiling.
"Now which kid takes being called sassy as a compliment, my lil sister cries when I say that." said Tamari in a confused tone. Making Aniyah's smile turn into a frown.
"And you must be..." said Me maw.
"Tamari, nice to meet you ma." he said putting out his hand.
"Boy come give me a hug." she said spreading out her arms.
"Aniyah." said Me maw.
"Maaaaa" said Aniyah hugging her tight. "I missed you."
"Aniyah you don't act like it, not once do you come visit me." she said raising her eyebrow.
"From now on imma come with Kasiyah."
"How's your mom?"
"She's good, she told me to tell you to call her." said Aniyah.
"Imma get to that after all of this, anyway yall should come inside and get a drink, come on in, we've been standing on this porch for a good 10 minutes." she laughed.
After everybody settled down and had something to drink, Pablo, Kamiyah and Sekani started pushing each other to ask Kasiyah's mom if they could go play outside. Finally Pablo said he'd do it, and they all went to go play with a few kids on the street.
While Tremani and Aniyah argued Kasiyah's mom pulled her aside into the kitchen so they could talk.
"So do they always argue?", she asked.
"Non stop, but when they aren't arguing they probably aren't on good terms, it's just how they are." replied Kasiyah shrugging.
"How are you doing?"
"I'm good, my job is treating me good and I actually feel happy." smiled Kasiyah.
"Oh of course you do with friends like that and those three kids why wouldn't you be?"
"Because they all argue like it's normal."
"That aside."
"Ma, I want to adopt Sekani, Pablo and Kamiyah." said Kasiyah nervously.
She didn't know how her mom would react considering that most of the time they'd have to be with her for at least an hour every week because of the overtime in her job at the prison.
"Awww my baby, you do what you want to do, I can tell you love them." she said smiling about to cry.
Kasiyah's mom cried for anything. In times of joy and in times of sadness.
"Thanks ma." smiled Kasiyah.
"You need a hubby real soon though, mama getting old." she laughed.
"Mom, your gonna have to wait on that one." Kasiyah replied.
"Ok, Ok. How's your job, i've heard from across the street that your company are sending workers into jail to work with some men." said her mom.
"Yeah i'm one of them."
"How's that going."
"Well he's rude, he's not that co operative but we are getting somewhere."
"Is he black?" asked her mom with a very curious look.
"Yes." said Kasiyah confused.
"Mark my words. That's your hubby right there, ion even have to know his name. I just know." she said lowering her glasses.
"Exactly ma you tell her, I've been telling this girl for the longest but she ignoring me." hollered Aniyah from the cupboard with snacks.
"The hubby is right here ma, ain't nobody need to go to no damn prison to find their other half. I'm right here." shouted Tamari making Kasiyah giggle.

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.

A Demon, Probably
For a demon, Bal isn't that bad. Being bad is unfortunatly a rather large part of being a demon. Stuck among the lower rungs of demonic society, Bal has had to make a living using his cunning to trick the most distrusting creatures in existence, but all that changes when a portal swallows him whole and he is summoned to the world above hell. A world ripe with the two things Bal loves most: oppurtinity and fools. Along with his two companions: Ell, a young princess hunted by her murder-happy siblings, and Cas, her sworn protector with too much bravery and too little brains, Bal sets out to see what this world can offer a resourceful young demon.

The Five Series - redemption
Book 1 - Redemption Three generations have passed since the last near-apocalyptic war. Civilization is beginning to thrive again at an ever increasing pace. The burden of society has been once again placed on the back of a massive robotic workforce, creating a huge divide between industrial glory, and those forced to live in its shadow. Many have stubbornly held onto the old ways of self-governance from back when the government fell, but with its return, life in Welan City is changing. Aaron, a middle-aged man, who is stuck in the rut of daily life, witnesses a murder and finds himself in trouble, love, and the middle of a highly secretive robotics project. Aaron stakes his life on helping a prototype survive, and pays for it dearly. Passionate hate, love, and indifference send life in Welan City spiraling out of control, leaving no one innocent in the end. The Five Series is, well, a series. I've completed 3 of the books so far and will finish with a fourth, maybe fifth book. Book 1 is heavy on the character development side while the following will be much more decision and consequence oriented. This story reaches into the soul of a person and the universe we live in. Some people deserve a second chance, and some do not. With that im mind, no one really ever gets what they deserve though, do they? Always tell the people you care about that you love them as often as you can, they could be gone tomorrow. Would that change if you could always bring them back? I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did writing it. Cody
