《Glass Ceilings》|31| I Don't Want You Here!

It's baby shower time. My girl was having the time of her life. We have family, friends, food and some games. She's nine months and ready to pop.
My sister Jade, Char and Adiras sister Maliha put everything together. The theme was tacky prints. Adira chose pink tulips. I was dripped in cheetah print pants and a palm tree short-sleeved shirt.
I had a photoshoot set up here so she could have some maternity memories. She was able to get some family portraits as well. We even took a few together. Just imagine a lot of people in a bunch of colors, at an all white decorated baby shower. We looked tacky as hell, but that's what my baby wanted.
She was stunning in her long floral skirt with a matching sleeved top, displaying her bare stomach.
Adira and I were seated at one of the round tables laughing at Marcel beating Jackson in a melting ice game called my water broke. It was funny because those two dumbasses were blowing their hot ass breath in a cup filled with a block of ice that had a little mini baby doll at the bottom. They were racing to see whose would melt the fastest to get the baby out. Two weirdos, Jackson dressed in his Houseparty floral print matching short set and Marcell in his lobster print shirt and bottoms. Although both had the same shoes, I had on, cheetah print.
I made sure to get plenty of photos to post later.
It's been three weeks since the fiasco at the All-Star game. I haven't heard from my sister Mai since I chewed her out. We'll eventually sit down and talk, but I'm not breaking my back to do so. Don't get me wrong she's still my assistant. She knows how to be professional and to also avoid me.
Since announcing my relationship status, things have been a little crazy. Adiras social media alone is insane. She now has millions of people following her, and she's surprisingly cool with it. They're mainly nosey, trying to see what else they can know about us.
The trolls are still lurking and being reckless. Everyone's wanting to know about the baby and why everything is so mysterious. It's no mystery to it. I just don't go around telling her business.
Anyway, we know what's real, and that's all that matter.
"Now its time for the fellas to play 'Do it with no hands.'" Jade announced gathering all the guys up.
"I'll need your women to come up also to participate." She added.
I smiled at Diri. "Come on, baby, let's get this win."
She shook her head smiling before getting up.
She's now in the last stretch of her pregnancy. She's carrying baby girl well. Seems like she can go another month, but her due date is approaching in a matter of a couple of weeks.
We're planning her a surprise birthday —at her graduation party. It seems a little odd, but everything is coming at once. Her birthday is literally on her graduation day.
Jade cleared her throat getting everyone's attention. "Ok ladies, fellas the object of the game is to see who can change the infant's diaper first. The catch is, guys you are going to be blindfolded. — So ladies stand up front, guys stand behind your woman. Guys will be using their hands only while the women instruct them."
Jade looked around making sure everyone knew what to do. "This games requires some impeccable listing skills and also coordination. The top three winners will be playing in the next round, in the three-star diaper dump shoot out."

"Let me get in on this." Jackson came over by himself.
"No singles, just couples."
"I'm saying Jade what's up?" Jackson rubbed his hands together, looking her up and down.
"Don't play with me, Jackson," Kelvin added, He slid over to where we were wrapping his arms around my sister. We busted out laughing because his oversized tall ass was in his floral print get up. He slid over to us like he was in an R&B group.
"Damn, ya'll back on?" Jackson backed up sucking his teeth. These two play like this over my sister all the time. Jackson has a little crush on her and he plays into to get on Kelvins nerves.
"We never stopped. This one willl always be my girl." He smiled at Jade because she made a little snorting sound. "Regardless of what she says."
"Yeah ok, you keep thinking that." She added in, then focused back on getting the game started. "Everyone gather around, now, come on."
"Go ahead with the game, quit playing around. —You ready baby?" Marcell added while him and his wife Bria got themselves ready to play. Stretching and shit like they were prepping for war.
"Yup."
"Let us show these young superstars how we get down Audrey." Adiras dad spoke flirtatiously while he waited on the game to start. I noticed he was rubbing his hands on Mrs. Thompson's ass.
"Dad, that's just nasty, and I'm way too pregnant for all of that," Diri whined noticing it as well.
We all laughed, getting ourselves set and blindfolded. I think my biggest competition would probably be our parents. Then Char and Jr. Red. I'd say Marcel and Bria next only because they're parents. However, Marcel doesn't take directions well so I can beat him.
"Ok, everybody start." Jade uncovered the sheet revealing the game.
Diri stood in front of the table with me behind her using only my arms."Alright, babe the baby's in the center, remove the old diaper and throw it to the floor. —Once it's removed, grabbed the pack of wipes to your far left. There's butt paste in front of it."
I listened to Diri instructions and did as followed. Those baby classes are about to pay off.
"Ok, good now wipe from front to back quickly. Then grabbed the diaper on your right, there are other objects in the way to confuse you just follow my lead."
"Got it."
"That's it now—"
"Done." My mom abruptly shouted loudly. She and my dad were making all kind of noise hollering out, "We won, we won."
Damn, how in the hell they finish so fast?
"Focus Zo, grab the butt paste." I grabbed it, remembering it was close to us on the left.
"Hurry Zo, get the top off." She panicked as Bria and Marcel finished and soon after her parents did too.
Damn, we're out.
I quickly opened the tube.
"Swabs are beside it." She spoke in a more calm manner, knowing we already lost. We're no quitters.
I grabbed it and squeezed the life out of that butt paste. Then quickly put it on the baby bottoms, at a slower speed, again we already lost.
"That's it now the diaper."
I quickly placed the diaper underneath the baby. I made sure I felt the flaps. I knew that part goes on the bottom.
"We're done." She shouted after I stuck on the flaps securing it. I pulled off my blindfold to observe my work. I had butt paste on everything. We stared down at the mess laughing.

Adira planted, laughing. kisses on my lips. "You did it, baby."
"We did it, even though we didn't win." I kissed her back.
"We had a disadvantage with my belly poking out, making it impossible to get closer to the table."
"That's right baby. They won by default." We laughed, making our way to the sink to wash our hands then back to our seats.
After a few minutes into the little diaper shoot game against all the winners, the door open. Adira and I both stared in that direction noticing Ben escorting Nelson and his mother in. Tyson and Bo were behind them carrying some gifts.
The moment they stepped in the room, the energy shifted. This is the first time I'm physically seeing him in person. After all the missed appointment, he never came to any of them other than that one with Diris brother Jr.
"This is about to be so embarrassing," Adira mumbled to me, about to break down.
"No, it won't, just try to stay calm. Sit back and put your feet up on the chair." I rested my hand on her stomach, she went ahead and propped her feet up on the chair in front of us.
I hope this dude doesn't try to pull anything here.
"What up?" He spoke loud and cold to Adira walking over standing in front of us. His mother stood beside him, with tight smile.
He's pushing his luck already, and he only said two words.
"I thought you weren't coming." She replied in a monotone, staring down at my hand on her stomach.
"Changed my mind." He had furious gaze in his eyes, but a smile on his face. Somewhat deranged.
There was an awkward silence. He stood in place, staring at Adira. I glanced at his body language, not really giving my full attention. Just feeling out the situation. Afterall this is the father. He and Adira have that in common. I can only sit back right now.
I peered around the room seeing everyone finishing up the game, but also glancing over at us. Bo and Tyson finally finished lugging in all the gifts Nelson and his mom brought. Which was a lot by the way, as if he had something to prove.
"I brought gifts don't you want to open em'?" He eyed her with a smug expression from head to toe.
"Thank you. I'll open them later. There's food and stuff over there." She spoke dryly, pointing across the room.
"I'm not hungry, aren't you going to introduce me?" He said the last part a bit too aggressive for my liking. "Why didn't you remind me about the attire? I could've dressed up."
She didn't say anything, just kept her eyes down at my hand still rested on her stomach. I remained quiet, observing.
"I came all the way here. You can at least introduce me to your man." He spoke louder in a threatening tone. Jr, her parents, my teammates and everybody started easing their way over to us. "I heard about your little relationship. I was even respectful enough to not comment on it. I read some funny headlines about you though."
"Could you just leave? I don't want you here!" She yelled back, frustrated with tears now coming down her face. She shook uncontrollably, and her breathing wavered.
That was enough for me. I didn't need to observe any further.
I placed a hand up, gesturing her to stop and to let her know I'll handle it from here.
I stood up in front of him. "Could I speak to you, alone?"
"Sure, Kenzo Martin, number fifteen. Can I get a little autograph or a picture while we talk?" He smirked.
I ignored him, making my way out of the building, he followed. Bo and Tyson followed distantly behind watching.
"Help me to understand your hostility towards her?" I spoke calmly, trying to be the mature one. We stood away from the entrance, but still by the building.
"I don't know what you're talking about, be more specific." He retorted in a condescending tone.
"Alright," I took a breather, remembering to keep my cool. "I need you to know something. I'm in Adiras life now. I will not stand by and watch you disrespect her. You humiliated her back there. You can't deny that because I just watched you."
"Look, you don't know anything about what we have going on." He emphasized on the we part trying to piss me off.
"You know what, —what role do you want to play in this? Are you in or out? Either way, they will be fine. I can guarantee you that." I spoke clear and fed up, looking dead in his eyes. "You don't have to be here. She's good."
"See— I'm tired of everyone trying to make me out to be the bad guy. I said I was going to be there for my child, if it's mine. That hasn't changed. —I came didn't I?"
"You stopped by to piss her off?" I laughed dryly.
"I get it. She filled your head up with some bullshit about me. Now you're salty. It's cool." He shrugged.
"You're giving yourself way too much credit. You're not a topic for us. —I'm here now, all new shit." I sunk my hands into my pocket, giving him a shrug right back.
He laughed, taking a step back. "My topic is in her stomach, my daughter. —I did that."
"Oh, so she's your daughter, now? I thought you were waiting for a DNA." I shook my head, laughing at this joke. "The bottom line is you're the only one causing problems here. Coming in the way you did. Getting loud with the attitude."
He wiped his hands over his mouth, still mugging me. "You screwing her?"
"I'm not answering that, —I dont have to answer that." I corrected myself.
He chuckled again, shaking his head. I quietly stood up straight realizing this was a waste of time.
"You didn't get any yet. I can tell —but you want to." He smirked.
"This is getting us nowhere." I shook my head, walking off. But was interrupted by his disrespectful ass once again.
"I'm surprised you didn't hit it yet. It used to be very frequent for us. At least once or twice a day. She's superb in the bedroom. I taught her everything she knows."
I stopped in my tracks staring at the ground, contemplating my next move. Should I make him regret coming here and knock his ass out? Or do I not ruin the event further and try to keep my cool? Adiras already stressed enough. I need to walk away from this for her.
I balled up my fist while holding my breath, painfully deciding to walk away. Bo and Tyson stood by the door, waiting.
I took a few deep breaths to cool myself down before they opened the door for me.
"You good?" Marcel asked the moment I entered the building while walking towards Adira.
"Yeah."
The party went on. I regained my seat next to Diri. She sat with a blank stare watching everyone else moving around.
They cut the cake and opened a few selected gifts. Then people started making their way out of the building. Of course, Nelson came back in. He sat next to his mom across the room, far from us.
As long as he kept his distance for the rest of the night, we wouldn't have anymore issues.
"Everything's going to be fine." I grabbed her hands.
"It was a bad idea to invite him." She sighed. "I should've went with my gut."
"No, I don't think so. Now I know what I'm dealing with. I saw it firsthand. All before I thought I knew, but now I really know there's no getting through to him." I caressed my thumbs over the back of her hand.
"I feel like it's his agenda to piss me off." She sighed again. "I'm ready to go."
"We'll be leaving shortly." I smiled at her. "It's almost over, pretty lady."
We must've talked Nelson up because he and his mom made their way over to us again.
"Di, can I talk to you?" He asked, still with an attitude.
Adira continued to stare toward the festivities ignoring his request.
"Di," He increased his volume, scaring her and causing her to jump slightly.
She clearly don't want to talk to right now. I had enough of this.
I stood up once again. "Bo, Ty can you handle him for me? Escort him out. I'm two seconds from dealing with him myself." They nodded, walking over to us.
"Wow, this is how the father of your child gets treated?" He shook his head. I kept my position in front of her.
My mom came over to get Adira, that grabbed the other ladies attention, including her mom.
They helped Adira out of the chair. The other women who were still here came over as well.
"Pack up all my shit while you're at it. All my gifts. I want them back in my truck."
"I don't want it!" Adira spat back as the ladies were getting her up.
"Fuck you, you stupid bitch. I'm tired of all this anyway."
Did he call my girl a—
Adira yelled something back that I didn't hear. I was too busy trying to get to him. I must've lost all sense of everything after I heard the words stupid bitch. I pushed my way over toward him, ready to whoop his ass. I knocked everything over insight, throwing chairs, stuff off the tables and all, trying to get to him.

{The Dragon Within} (Completed)
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters. Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake. “You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper. “Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.” Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.” The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else… Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. As it stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down upon a ruined valley of rot and miasma. It glanced down at itself, seeing none of its sturdy scales or sharp claws. The drake had been reborn...
