"Wake up sleepy head. I made a quick lunch." Adira sang while shaking me. I didn't budge. "Really, Zo?"
I remained still. "Ok, I'm eating for two so... You might find something left." She shifted to get off the bed. I grabbed her, pulling her back down gently.
I groaned. "Quit playing. What did you cook?"
"Get up and see. Stop being lazy." She giggled as I tried my best tickling her.
"You're in the same spot I left you in this morning. I've already been to class and came back. It'll be time to search for houses again in a little while. What time will your sisters be getting here?" She went on to say and was clearly nervous.
"Jade said she's on her way. She had a fitting or something this morning. Ben is dropping Gabbi off." I yawned covering my mouth.
"Ok well let me go tidy up, and get everything together. I need to get out of these scrubs first though." She fidgeted before getting off the bed.
"Why are you so nervous?" I rolled over, pulling the sheets back to get up.
"I don't know, I just am." She hunched her shoulders.
"Well chill out, they ain't nobody to be getting all nervous over." I smiled at her.
"Ima' telling em' you said that."
"Snitch," I mumbled getting up. She glanced at me, eyeing me standing in my underwear.
"See something you like?" I stretched, making my back pop in different areas.
"No, I don't." She fought back a smile. "That's a big tattoo on your back." She looked me over again.
"It's an expression." I furrowed my brows at her. "We sleep together damn near naked every night, and you're just now asking me about my angel wing tat?"
"I don't sleep naked, and you sleep in your underwear, so that's not technically naked." She defended.
"I said damn near. You sleep in my t-shirts, with nothing underneath it. —Let's clap it up for my self-restraint." I pretended to wipe the sweat off my forehead.
"That's because I get hot, and I do have on panties."
I chuckled, shaking my head, giving in. "Go ahead and take your shower Diri."
If only you knew how much I wanted you every night. How much I want to act on my thoughts.
This girl has perfect smooth skin, super long legs that are usually tangled up with mine. She smells amazing. On top of that, she moans, and she's very handsy while she sleeps. Kudos to me on control.
She left out of the room and made her way to the bathroom. I made my way to the other one. After finishing up, I went to the kitchen to see what Adira made. I was starving.
I peered over the stove, looking through the pots. "The hell?" I again went looking through the pots and then the ovens. I looked in the microwave. Then I went to check the fridge.
"Where's the meat?" I spoke out loud.
Adira walked in, straightening up along the way as she made a beeline to the kitchen.

"Where's the rest of the food?" I asked her.
"It's on the stove. You want me to make you a plate?"
"This is all of it?" I questioned glancing again at the stove then back at her.
"Yes, you told me your little sister's vegan. I didn't want to offend her by cooking meat. I thought maybe we might try it."
I dropped my hands down to my side, dramatically making a tapping sound. "She's been vegan for like two day. How can she get offended?"
I pointed to my bare chest, trying to hold my smile. "I'm offended."
"Listen here, sir. You're getting way too comfortable. You want me to fix you a plate or not? And go put a shirt on."
I sighed because I was starving and thought she had a little feast cooked. Today's my day off, so I figured I was gonna' eat whatever I wanted. "I'll make it, go ahead and sit down. And I'm home. I don't need a shirt."
"Yeah, you're getting way too comfortable." She giggled. "You probably won't even notice you didn't eat meat."
"My stomach will, and I get headaches when I don't eat meat." I rubbed my head. "I feel one starting already."
"Oh please, now you're being dramatic Zo. Just try it." She laughed.
"Are you going to throw that cow skin rug out and those shoes on your feet away?" I interrogated, she stopped laughing.
"I didn't even think about that." She looked over to the rug then down at her shoes. "It's already dead. I guess I'll just keep it."
I chuckled. "The meat in your freezer is already dead too Diri."
"Hush." She laughed. "Oh well, this is the best I can do. We'll get something to eat after they leave."
"My girl! Aight bet." I went ahead and scooped me up some vegetables... with a side of vegetables.
Diri went on to finish tidying up. Not sure what she's cleaning, her place was always spotless. I guess you can say she was shifting her accent pieces around to her liking. I watched her as I took my seat to eat.
"This is actually good babe." I scooped up more in my fork. "Ima' get some more of this."
"See." She smiled at me, revealing the most beautiful smile ever.
There was a knock at the door. I got up to open it. Diri went over to the floor-length mirror to check herself out.
"You look, good babe, don't be nervous."
She shook, releasing the jitters. I went ahead and answered the door.
"What up sis?" I gave Jade a side hug.
"Hey, —eww! All up in this girl home with no shirt on." She gave me a stank face while walking through the door, eyeing the place. "Oooouu this is nice!"
"Look like something out of your room, doesn't it?" My sister has similar taste in furniture, all fancy.
"Yeah, you know this is my style. I love her mirrored end tables and this chandelier. I was skeptical when you said, Lincoln Park. They've built up around here, it's nice. I might have to find something out here for me. This would be perfect for me."

"Hi." Adira appeared behind me.
"Adira baby this is my sister Jade I told you about."
"Yes, it's so nice to meet you." She stuck her hand out for my sister to shake. Jade smiled, swatting her hand then went in for a hug, they laughed.
"I was just saying to Zo how much I love your place."
"Thank you, come on in and have a seat. Are you hungry? I made a little lunch."
"She made vegan people food. I told her Gabbi was vegan."
"Vegan since when?" Jade quickly asked in disbelief, squinting her eyes.
"She told me she was."
"She ain't no damn vegan! She was just eating some chicken Joanne made last night." She expressed in a high pitched tone.
Adira glanced at me, waiting for me to clown her. The funny part is she went all out with it. She was online researching vegan soul food recipes and all.
I busted out laughing making snorting sounds. My sister Jade and Adira glanced at each other, then laughed as well.
"Now that was funny," I mumbled to myself, making my way to the bedroom to grab a t-shirt. I quickly made it back over to the table to finish my plate.
I watched on as they sat on the couch talking.
They bonded so fast, almost as if they've known each other their entire lives. They were conversing about different decor, their careers, and all that other girl power stuff.
My sister Jade is very easy to talk to. She's very much the female version of me in a lot of ways. I guess that's why we get along so well. Plus, of all people, I knew she would instantly understand my situation with Adira.
There was another knock on the door. I went over to answer it, leaving those two to finish their conversation.
"Gabbi," I smiled down at my baby sister. I nodded to Ben. "Thanks for bringing her up."
"No problem. Give me a call if you need me."
"Actually if you can stick around we're going to look at some more houses. I'll send a text to Bo and Tyson so they could meet us over here. Then we can leave."
"Ok."
"Diri made some vegan food. That should be right up your alley since you don't eat meat. You're more than welcome to have some."
"Hey, Benjamin." Diri walked up to him, smiling, she went in for a hug. I admire how close they've become. My crew is my family as well, so it's crucial for anybody I meet to be respectful and get along with them.
"Hey Di, how are you?"
"Everything's good, come on in and sit down."
"I'm about to go over there and fix myself something to eat." He chuckled.
She giggled. "Go ahead, make yourself at home."
He proceeded to the kitchen.
My baby sister waited patiently with a huge grin on her face.
"Adira this little girl right here is my beautiful baby sister Gabriella. Everyone calls her Gabbi." I gave her a side hug squeezing her.
"It's good to meet you, Gabriella, finally."
She smiled. "You can call me Gabbi, and it's good to meet you too." She looked around. "You have a really nice place."
Adira started cheesing. "Thank you, come on over to the couch. I made a little lunch."
"Yeah, she made some vegan food since you're vegan now," I stated, turning up my volume at the end.
"I said I was trying it out. I didn't say I was all the way vegan. It takes time. I can't just quit cold turkey. I tried, and I was miserable."
"Well make sure you go get you a plate. She made it especially for you." I added, she nodded.
We hung around, laughing and joking, my sisters love Adira.
****
We went house hunting and ended up finding a match. I'm not thrilled about it, but they convinced me. Adira was right. I don't want to leave her place. I like waking up to her.
"Baby come here," I whined, hoping she'd say she didn't want me to buy a house. We were standing outside the home in the driveway.
"What's wrong, why are you pouting when you just made an offer for your new home."
I pulled her in close to me and kissed her repeatedly. My sisters stared at us with their mouths on the floor. I tried going the rest of the day while they were here without kissing her, but here we are.
She slowly pulled away from me, not wanting to though. I didn't speak and neither did she but we knew what we were thinking. This move is going to be hard.
"I don't want your sisters getting the wrong idea." She whispered to close to my ear.
I sighed and pulled away from her. "Let's go get something to eat I know babygirl's kicking up a storm."
My sister Jade gave me a concerned look. I just turned my head looking away.
We made our way back into the Escalade, Bo and Tyson were in a car behind us so we wouldn't be bunched up.
The ride was silent, I guess from the kiss.
I decided to cool the air. "We're friends, but I want more. I kiss her because I have deep feelings for her. When I'm with her, I feel like I'm with her."
"Of all people you know I understand Zo. It's cool. I was just shocked to see it. You two act like a couple to me already anyway, from the time I stepped in the front door." Jade gave a reassuring smile.
I chuckled.
"I don't mind it either Zo. She's pretty." Gabbi added, and it made Adira smile, thanking her.
"I'm not the one you have to worry about in the family." Jade pointed out.
I knew she was talking about my big sister Mai. My mom said she's good, but I can't expect change overnight. Hopefully, things will be ok.
