One Year Later
ina smiled up at Tristan. He looked so handsome in his black tuxedo. The platinum ring on his fourth finger would always symbolize their love.
Nina was wearing a white, mermaid-like wedding gown. She knew she had made the right decision when Tristan's eyes roamed her body when she had reached him to speak their vows.
"Can you believe we're finally married?" Tristan asked, grinning down at her.
They were at their reception having the first dance. It was just the two of them while family and friends watched with smiles and happy tears.
"I wish my grandmother was here to see us," Nina said.
Nina also wished that her sister was there to see her. Nina visits her in jail. After all, her sister had saved her life and she would always be grateful for that.
Her mother was there at the wedding. They were working on getting their relationship back on track by going to see a therapist. It was still a rocky road, but Nina was glad that her mother was making an effort. She was now sober for two tears now, so she had proved to Nina that she was trying.
"She is looking down on us. I know she would be happy for us."
Nina nodded. "You're right."
"Did I tell you I almost cried when you walked down the aisle?" Tristan asked, holding her tighter.
Nina laughed. "No, you didn't."
"I did. Seeing you walk down the aisle made me realize there is no other woman I want to spend the rest of my life with."
Tears sprang to Nina's eyes.
"You're so sappy," she said, wiping a tear away.
He chuckled. He rubbed her round belly. "Now you're having my child too. Words can't describe how happy you make me."

"I love you too," she said, placing a kiss against his mouth.
Tristan deepened the kiss. Nina wrapped her arms around his neck urging him to continue.
Nina laughed against his lips as she heard all the clapping and whistling going on. She even heard someone say get a room, and the voice sounded a lot like Max.
"I'm going to kill Max," Tristan said, narrowing his eyes in Max's direction.
Max only smiled while his arm was wrapped around Tasha's waist.
"Leave Max alone. He's the baby's Godfather," Nina said, patting his chest.
Tristan sighed and laughed. "You're right."
Then Nadia ran up to them. She was their flower girl and everyone that she was adorable.
"Daddy, Mommy, can I dance with you," she said.
Everyone laughed at Nadia.
It still warmed Nina's heart just like the very first time Nadia had called her mommy.
Tristan bent down to pick up Nadia. "Of course baby girl."
Nina smiled at Nadia and Tristan. She never thought she would have a family of her own that she loved unconditionally.
Nina wiped at more tears that ran down her cheeks.
"Mommy, don't be sad," Nadia said, wiping at her cheek.
"Mommy is not sad. These are happy tears."
"So you're happy?" Nadia asked.
Nina nodded. "I'm happy to have you and your day in my life."
"I love you, mommy."
"I love you too," Nina said hugging the both of them.
They hugged her back and Nina knew that this was the happiest she had been in a long time and it was all thanks to them for loving and accepting her in their lives.
