《A Second Chance at Love (Millionaire Romance)》32

ina groaned after she flushed the toilet that was full of this morning's breakfast she had eaten only thirty minutes before. She was sitting on the cold tiled floor, wiping tears that continued to fall against her cheeks.
She couldn't get Tristan's words out of her head. Last night he had told her that whatever she needed to tell him, even if it were bad that they could work through them.
She really wanted to believe him. She wanted to march into his office and tell him what she had done and beg for his forgiveness. But she had to think about would Nick would do if she told him. She couldn't take that risk.
Nina stood up from the cold tile and brushed her teeth. She didn't want to look in the mirror because she will see how red and teary her eyes were. Her normal glow to her body was gone, too.
Nina finished brushing her teeth and trudged towards her bed and laid down. Even Nadia had noticed something was wrong with her. She had asked her about it but she had just told her she had a stomachache but she would be better by the time she got home since she would take some medicine.
Nina pulled out her phone and bile hit the back of her throat. She saw there was a text message from Nick. She opened up the message and read it.
What's up, beautiful?
Nina rolled her eyes. She knew if she didn't respond back there would be hell to pay.
What do you want?
What have I told you about being disrespectful to me? Cut that shit out.
Nina glared at her phone screen.
Sorry.
That's better.
Nina sighed. She wasn't in the mood for more of his games. She wanted him out of her life for good.

What can I do for you?
I just wanted to thank you for getting me the money. You're a real one.
Nina wanted to type out that he was an asshole but of course, she didn't.
Thanks and you're welcome.
We can I see you again.
Never is what she wanted to put but she knew if she put that then he would get angry again.
Can I see my sister?
She tried changing the subject, hoping that he would let her know.
She's getting her hair and nails done. Let's not talk about her.
"Nina?"
Nina jumped when she heard Tristan calling her name and she ended up dropping her phone.
He chuckled and walked towards her. "Did I scare you?"
"Yeah a little bit," she said, looking down at the floor trying to locate her phone.
She silently cursed when she saw the phone was beside his foot.
"I thought you were at work," she said.
"I decided to work from home for the rest of the day. I wanted to spend more time with you."
Nina smiled even though her stomach clenched at his words. Her eyes widened when she saw him reach down and grab her phone.
She sighed in relief when the screen was dark. He handed the phone to her and she said thanks.
Nina was trying her best to act normally around him but the thought of what she had done still ate her up inside. She hoped he would never find out she had anything to do with the money being stolen.
There's no way he would forgive her. The thought of her not being able to see him sprang tears to her eyes. She turned around to place the phone on her bedside table so that he also wouldn't see her getting teary-eyed.

Nina realized that she loved him but there was no way she could tell him that. Not now, not after everything she had done.
"Are you too busy for me?" he asked, against her ear.
Her breathing hitched. "I always have time for you."
"Good. It's raining so I thought we could watch some movies before we have to get Nadia."
Nina nodded. "Sounds good. I'll make the popcorn and you choose the movies."
"My room or yours?" he asked, moving her braids out of her face.
"Yours," Nina said. His TV was bigger than hers and he had his own DVD collection.
Nina went downstairs to pop the popcorn while Tristan went to his room to get the movie ready. Nina stood in front of the microwave and watched the bag of popcorn inflate.
She turned her attention away from the microwave when her phone went off alerting her that she got another text.
It was another message from Nick.
I miss you.
Nina scoffed. He didn't miss her he missed how much of a doormat she was to him.
Nick, I'm busy. I'll text you later.
Nina put her phone on silent and grabbed the finished popcorn out of the microwave. She put the popcorn in a bowl and headed up the stairs.
"What movie did you choose?" she asked, strolling into Tristan's bedroom.
"A classic," he said, patting the spot beside him.
Nina laid down beside him and handed him the bowl of popcorn. Nina laughed when she saw the movie was All About the Benjamins. Tristan smiled and hit play on the remote.
"I love this movie," she said, watching Mike Epps being goofy.
Tristan chuckled. "Me too. It's one of my favorites."
Nina snuggled in closer to Tristan. She realized that this may be one of the only moments he looked at her like he really loved her and she wanted to cherish this moment.
Tristan placed a kiss against her forehead and turned his attention back to the movie.
During the middle of the movie, her bladder was about to burst so she got up to use his bathroom.
"I'll be back," she said.
He glanced at her and nodded before he returned back to the movie and laughed at a scene where Mike Epps said something funny to Ice Cube.
Nina smiled and walked into the bathroom. She did her business and washed her hands. She stopped in her tracks when she saw Tristan looking down at her phone with a frown plastered on his face.
"Tristan?"
Tristan looked away from the phone and narrowed his eyes at her. "What the fuck is this?"

Sustentation: An Exsanguinate Novela
Kareem and Wesley are roommates who live entirely different lives. Kareem drifts through life with no goals or purpose besides finding his next drink of blood. Wesley is a devout Christian who seeks salvation for both he and Kareem. Both have their secrets and as the two are forced to spend more time together they learn more about each other and themselves. Together they come to qustion the meaning of power, Christianity, and how far the definition of humanity truly goes. Sustenation is the corner where nutrients meets addiction. Will Kareem and Wesley be able to separate the two? Note: I update my other fictions weekly, but I'm not sure what the schedule for this one will be. There's no real plan here. I just had an idea and decided to run with it. I usually plan excessively before I start a fiction, but I don't have a plan this time. It takes place in the same universe as the Exsanguinate fiction, but doesn't really have any links to the other books.

Fated Nirvana || Completed ✅
The Fated Series. Book #1. "A single minute without her in my arms and it felt like a lifetime." - Mateo Ramos My name is Mateo Adam Ramos. I was born into a family who's bleed for their reputation, and built us into being one of the most dangerous families to exist. You hear my name... you run. I for one am determined to continue upholding that reputation because that's in my blood. But things are never that simple, are they? Feeling and emotions got involved, and everything I thought I knew, vanished the second I met her. A soft souled, beautiful brown eyed girl who gleams with goodness found her way into my life. I shouldn't have played the good samaritan, that was my fault. I don't want to know goodness, and yet I'm drawn in like it's the light to cure my sins. This goodness has a name, and a face of salvation and I for one know I shouldn't get involved. Guess what I do? I get involved. Because even if I don't want too that's not really how fate works, is it? You don't pick and choose fates plan, you get slammed with it and good luck to your poor soul. This is my story, the kind that was written years before I was even born, and now I'm living it. Watch me make a mess of it too, because after all, I wasn't born to follow. P.S. This book is technically #1, but I have a book before this one that's about their parents. You learn more, and get a clue about their parents and why they are the way they are. Some of the conversations in this book would make more sense by knowing the past. It's not as well written, but if you can get thought it, I promise you'll love this one even more. Of course if you rather start here, then you do you! It will make sense either way! I tired to fill in all the gaps without it getting overbearing. You can always hop back to the book before this after.
