he tension between Nina and Tristan wasn't letting up. It's been a week since they actually talked about anything besides talking about taking care of Nadia or about how her grandmother was doing. It was strictly business between them, but Nina hated it.

It was her fault for telling Tristan that he was right and they only needed to be employee and employer.

Nina walked back into the house after taking Nadia to school. She walked into the kitchen to find Tristan still in his pajamas. The closer Nina got, she saw sweat across her brow. He let out a cough that was raspy.

Nina placed her hand against his forehead. It was warm to the touch and sweaty.

"Tristan, you have a fever."

Tristan gently removed her hand from his forehead, but he continued to hold her hand.

"I'm fine," he said, coughing again.

"No, you're not. Let's get you back to bed."

"Nina, I'm fine. I can't afford to not go to work. I have a lot on my plate."

"Tristan, you can't work like this. You're barely able to sit up."

Nina noticed how shaky he was.

"I'm really fine."

Tristan tried to stand up but stumbled. Nina helped him to sit back down.

"I'm calling Max to let him know what's going on," Nina said, grabbing her cell phone out of her pocket.

Tristan tried to grab her cell phone but Nina moved out of his reach.

Nina called Max to inform him of what was going. Max told her not to worry and that he would take care of everything.

Nina turned her attention back to Tristan wiping the sweat from his brow.

"Max said he would handle everything. Now, let's get you to bed."

Tristan realized Nina wasn't going to give up.

Nina helped Tristan to stand up by wrapping her hands around his waist while he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"I'm really fine," he mumbled, as they made their way up the stairs.

Nina chuckled. "Just let me help you."

Tristan sighed but allowed her to help him to bed. She asked him if he had a thermometer. He told her it was in a drawer in the bathroom.

After helping Tristan to bed, she went into his master bathroom. She grabbed a small towel and wet it with cold water. She also grabbed the thermometer.

Nina placed the cold water against his forehead.

"Let me take your temperature," she said, positioning the thermometer into Tristan's mouth.

"Nina I'm fine," he mumbled.

"We'll see," Nina said, watching the thermometer.

They sat in silence until the thermometer beeped.

Nina shook her head. "See, you're burning up. It says a hundred and one degrees."

"I'm fine," he said, closing his eyes.

Nina sighed. "Just rest for now. I'm going to make you some soup."

Before he could protest, Nina made her way down the stairs into the kitchen. Nina gathered the ingredients needed to make chicken noodle soup.

Nina cooked the chicken noodle soup for two hours all the while checking in on Tristan. He had fallen asleep but was now up when she came into the room with a tray of soup.

Nina waited for Tristan to sit up before she placed the tray in front of him.

"Nina, you didn't have to do this," he said, giving her a faint smile.

"Yes, I did. I also brought some medicine for you to take, so eat up and I'll give it to you later."

Tristan nodded. "Thank you."

Nina watched Tristan eat and her heart tightened inside her chest.

"Tristan..."

Tristan stopped eating to stare at her.

"What's wrong?"

Nina wanted to tell him that she really didn't mean what she said about wanting them to just be employer and employee but if she opened herself up to him wouldn't it just end up the same as her marriage.

Nina gave him a small smile. "I want you to take better care of yourself."

He chuckled. "I will."

"Eat some more."

Nina had helped Nadia with her homework and made sure she had her dinner and helped her to bed. She told her that Tristan was sick and he needed to rest. She did go in to see him for a little bit but Tristan didn't allow her to stay for too long since he was afraid she would get sick.

After taking care of her nightly hygiene, Nina gently knocked on his door.

"Come in," Tristan said.

Nina opened the door and closed it shut. Nina sat down on the bed and placed her hand against his forehead. His head wasn't as warm as before.

She also noticed he had his laptop on his lap. Nina shook her head and removed it from his lap.

"I wasn't done."

"You shouldn't be worrying about that when you're sick. Max said he would take care of it for you."

"I can't win with you."

"Not when it concerns your health."

Tristan chuckled.

"How are you feeling?" she asked.

Tristan grabbed her hand and placed a kiss against it.

"I feel better. How's Nadia?"

"She's fine. She was worried about you but I told her you would get better soon."

"Thank you."

"It's what I'm here for."

They stared at one another before Nina quickly glanced away.

"I should take your temperature."

Nina grabbed the thermometer and took his temperature. It dropped down two temperatures.

"It looks like your temperature dropped. That's a good sign."

"See, I told you I was feeling better," he said, with a cheeky smile.

Nina smiled. She was tired of holding back how she was really feeling for him. Every time he looked at her she felt like he really cared for her. Had she blown her chances with him when she told him she only wanted to be strictly professional?

She wanted more from him.

Nina found herself lightly grazing his cheek with her thumb.

Nina's eyes widened. "Sorry-"

Tristan grabbed her hand in mid-air. "Don't be. I love it when you touch me."

"You do?" Nina whispered.

Tristan leaned in closer. "I do."

"Tristan... I want to be more than just a nanny to you."

Nina glanced away from him and stared down at her lap.

Tristan grabbed her chin so that she was looking into his dark brown eyes.
