ristan sighed as he leaned back in his chair at his desk. He had just got out of a meeting and their numbers weren't looking that great. They were losing money due to not getting their advertising right.

Tristan didn't want to have to fire anyone, but he would do just that if his advertising manager didn't step his game up. He was an older man around his fifties, and Tristan suspected that the man didn't enjoy taking orders from someone younger than him.

Tristan closed his eyes when he heard a knock at his door. He didn't answer and only cracked one eye open when he smelt the familiar scent of his best friend and co-president Max smiling at him. They had been best friends since middle school, and their friendship was still going strong many years later.

Tristan groaned. "Why are you smiling so damn early in the morning?"

Max smiled even more showing his straight white teeth. All the women drooled over him at work, at the gym, grocery store it didn't matter. His best friend was handsome and with his dark-skinned skin tone with hazel eyes. He stood over six feet and was always being scouted by modeling agencies even at the age of thirty-three.

"You know I'm always in a good mood. Plus, I got laid last night."

Tristan scoffed as he replied to an urgent email.

"That's not anything new," he said, still typing.

Max laughed. "You would be happy too if you got laid every now and again."

Tristan pressed the send button on his screen and glared at his friend.

"I don't have time for that."

"So, you're being celibate. Don't do that shit. You'll get blue balls," he said, ducking when Tristan through a box of tissues at him.

"Don't worry about my sex life. We need to be worried about our sales dropping."

Max's face went from smiling to frowning.

"I'll look further into our advertising budget and see if we can move some things around," he said, still looking in deep thought.

"Do that? I'm thinking I may have to fire Carl," he said, referencing their advertising manager.

"I was thinking the same thing. He keeps saying that he will get us on the right track but we keep losing money."

"I'm glad we're on the same page. At the next meeting, if he doesn't deliver, I will have to let him go."

Max stood up and gave him a salute. "Understood boss."

Tristan smiled. "You work beside me, dummy."

Max shook his head. "You're better at all this business stuff though."

"You're just as good but don't take it too seriously," he said, looking at his watch for the time.

Max smirked. "Why should I take it seriously when I've got you?"

Tristan stood up and stretched. He made his way around his mahogany desk and towards the door.

"It's time for lunch. Where do you want to eat at?" Tristan asked.

"Let's get some fried rice," Max said, walking with him towards the elevators.

"Alright, but you're paying this time," he said, as they stepped into the elevators.

Tristan was shutting off his computer when his assistant Greg, who had also been with him since he started and who he considered a close friend as well stood in front of him.

Greg ran a hand through his shoulder-length wavy blonde hair and sighed. His blue eyes looked not only tired but frustrated at that current moment.

"What's wrong?" Tristan asked, grabbing his suitcase.

"Finding you a nanny for Nadia has been hell," he said, shaking his head.

Tristan laughed. "That bad," he said, as he walked with Greg towards the elevators. It was way past time for them to be off but Tristan usually stayed late.

"You're too critical," Greg said, pressing the floor for the parking garage.

"I can't have just anyone take care of Nadia," he said, loosening his red tie.

Greg sighed. "I know. I want the best for Nadia too."

"Don't worry. We'll find someone."

"Yeah, one of the maids contacted me to let me know one of her friends was interested in the position," he said, unbuttoning his blue suit jacket.

"What's her name?" he asked, stepping out of the elevator once it dinged open.

Greg followed him onto the elevator.

"Who? The maid or-"

"The one inquiring about the nanny position."

"Let me check," he said, pulling out his phone and using his index finger across the screen.

"She said her name was Nina."

"I want to be there when you interview her," he said, hitting the keypad to unlock his Mercedes Benz.

Greg stared at him with a quizzical brow. "You never come to the interviews."

Tristan nodded. "I know but since you said you're having such a hard time I think I should help out."

"Do you have the time?" he asked, smiling.

Tristan scoffed. "You're my assistant you should know."

"Right. I'll let you know once I move some meetings around for you."

Tristan patted his shoulder. "Thanks, man."

"No problem," he said, with a slight wave to Tristan.

Tristan got inside his car and pulled out of the parking space. He really hoped they could find a nanny for Nadia because he had to protect her at all costs.
