Some examinees look at him with envy, others with annoyance, and others mocked him in their eyes! On the other hand, the examiners look at him with suspicion but they knew in their hearts that it is impossible to cheat since the examination is prepared by the Emperor and he will keep all of it until the night before the examination. Preparing a leakage and memorizing the answers and solutions for the whole night is simply impossible!

Zander King immediately went home after the imperial examination. For nine days, he was not able to see his beloved wife. He departed two days before the examination because it will take more than a day to travel from the General's Mansion to the place where the imperial examination will be held.

He missed her a lot but he will see her soon. He will tell her that the examination becomes so easy because of her and ask her how she was able to know what exactly are the questions and problems that will be asked in the examination as well as the answers and explanations. Hopefully, she will give him a definite answer.

Six months later, the impossible become possible when the examination result came out! There is someone who excelled in all seven-day imperial examinations! Usually, someone will be able to excel in four or five imperial examinations but never in all seven-day imperial examinations! This person named Zander King became a legend! Many people congratulated Zander King but more people congratulated General Ardor and Lady Andrea for having a genius son-in-law who made it possible!

When the result came out, Zander King immediately look for his wife! He happily informed her of the result but she only smiled and said:

"Is it not what we already expected? I told you that as long as you listen to me, your dreams will soon come true..." She happily reminds him. She walks closer and cupped his handsome face with both of her hands then look at him in the eyes. "This is only the beginning! I promise you will be a high-ranking official soon. Of course, you did a great job! Not all people could remember everything I discussed with you and know it by heart." She smiled happily.

He held her hand and said: "It is because my teacher put her heart into teaching me and I, your humble student, would like to receive the heart that you put into it."

"Would it not make me heartless then?" She teased him.

"Then I will gladly offer you mine to make it even." He seriously replied.

She laughed so hard then raised her hands as a gesture of surrendering.

Good! Good! Good!

"I really cannot win against you now. You became much better at flirting." She cannot stop laughing. "I better go in the meantime. I need to talk to Father about your appointment. Enjoy your victory, Lover Boy!" She teased and then leave him very sad and disappointed.

I wish we could exchange our hearts so you could understand...

One week later, Zander King became a rank two court official because first, he excelled in the imperial examination. Second, General Ardor endorsed him to the Emperor saying that his son-in-law is the perfect person for the job.

The Emperor thought for a moment:

This Zander King married General Ardor's daughter who is supposedly the future wife of one of my sons. Poor girl, she contracted that strange disease and so the betrothal must be canceled. I will just compensate by giving her husband a good opportunity. That way she will not suffer in the future. This is me giving her and her family some face!

And the third reason, the Emperor wants to compensate the Lamoreaux family for the broken marriage arrangement!

It is the first day that Zander King will report as a second-rank court official and attend a court meeting. Beatrix woke up early to help him prepare for his first day since the first impression is very important. She wants to make sure that he is presentable and dressed properly!

"Do you still remember what I told you last night?" She asked him while helping him wear his uniform by herself. She did not allow the maids to help her husband, not because of jealousy or suspicion but because she still has a lot of things to remind him. Everything must be perfect!

"That's great! You have to follow everything that I told you to get the best impression and earn their respect and approval soonest, especially the emperor..."

"I know and I understand." He assured her.

"Then you will be fine. Remember, it only takes one mistake to ruin a whole life's plan. Same thing with trust and relationship." She reminded him.
