"And if love be madness,

May I never find sanity again."

Even as she walked towards the school building, her hands tightly wrapped around her bag, all she could think of was him. She felt a weird kind of warmness inside her. And she felt like butterflies were exploding inside her stomach.

Oh god, how happy she felt.

Why am I so crazy for him?

And she felt heat rush towards her cheeks.

Oh River. What are you even doing to me?

"Hey Faye, cute shoes." She looked up when she heard that voice and smiled warmly at the girl that stood in front of her.

Isabella.

"Hey. What's up?" Faye pulled her into a tight hug, earning a laugh from her.

"Forget about me. What's up with you? You seem to be glowing ." Isabella laughed, her eyes full of curiousity and excitement when they pulled away, both making their way to the lockers.

"Its... Its nothing."

"God, you're blushing like crazy. It cannot be just nothing." Isabella's eyes we're sparkling.

"I... just..."

"Its River, isn't it? Oh my God, did he finally ask you out?" The brunette found herself squealing as she jumped up and down, earning a laugh from Faye.

"He did not really ask me out. But-" Faye's ocean orbs made its way towards the floor, head hung low, she decided she did not want Isabella to see how much of a pathetic person she was. Then with incredible shyness that no one had ever witnessed on her, she continued, "But, he- he kissed me yesterday and, and, he said that he loves me, that he has always loved me."

"Oh my Gawd."

"And I don't know what I did to deserve him. He is so beautiful, so perfect. And he makes me so happy, Isa. He makes me want to die from happiness. I don't think I have ever been this happy in my life. I love him too, you know. With every atom in me. And I never really knew I was capable of loving someone like this."

And Isabella watched as Faye Lockwood talked about the guy who put the stars in her universe. God, how amusing it was to watch her. To watch the golden girl indeed fall for the golden boy. Hard.

She had seen people in love before. But Faye was a different case. A person they did not know was capable of falling for someone. Let alone, for him. A person who was wearing her heart on her sleeves and oh, how it made her smile that they had finally found each other.

Their home.

"- I am sorry, I got carried away, did not I?" Faye looked at Isabella as she finished, her eyes apologising.

"Of course not, you just made me smile like crazy. That also, on a school day. I am so happy for you, Faye. You guys have always been perfect for each other." Isabella grinned at her as they opened their lockers.

And Faye saw a bouquet of flowers laying inside her's.

A warm, big smile crept on her features as she held them, caressing those white lilies, her hands tracing through the petals. That's when a small card fell on the floor.

She picked it up and opened it.

"I love you a lily more each day. x"

"He's so cheesy." She wanted to sound irritated, she really did. But it came out breathless. Warm.

River. Oh, he was going to be the death of her.

Isabella found herself looking at Faye. And a smile crept in her features.

Sure the queen was falling hard, but her king was already there to catch her.

Everyone was looking at them. Their eyes big and their mouth opening and closing like a fish.

Everyone knew it was going to happen. Everyone knew River and Faye were ought to end up together. What they did not know was how shocking it would be to witness them.

They all watched as their hands intertwined, and as they talked to their friends like nothing was new and yet everything was. Their whole table in the cafeteria was bubbling with pure happiness.

All of their friends, Zach, Madeline, Aubree, Max, Isabella had this big smile on their face as they watched them both.

They watched as he kissed her cheeks from time to time and made her blush. They watched how contently they looked at one another when one of them talked. They watched their hands fitting perfectly. They watched it all.

Faye had already told Aubree and Madeline everything. And the first thing River did after coming back from her house the other day was barge into Zach's room and kiss him and Max who were playing video games, saying how much of good friends they were. And he had told them all.

"So, let me walk you to your class?" She whispered to him as the bell rang.

All of their friends had left the table, deciding that it was better to left them alone.

Aubree had said that she needed to visit the biology teacher and had pulled Madeline and Isabella with her. Zach and Max had said that they had to go to the art room to do a thing.

Liars.

It was all for them.

"Don't you think it should be the other way around?" River chuckled, his eyes on her.

"Eh, who likes clichés anyway?"

And she ran her eyes through the text one more time.

"Meet me at the terrace. x"

She looked around, her eyes watching the almost empty school building.

School had ended an hour ago and Faye was waiting in the parking area for Madeline and Aubree to come out.

They still had not.

She wondered where they were. They had promised her that they would go to her place after school to have a girl's night. But they were nowhere to be found.

Aubree's car was still in the parking lot and so she knew that they were inside, somewhere.

She wondered if they were okay and if River was calling her because something bad had happened.

"Please be okay." She whispered under her breath as she walked towards the building.

Almost no one was there in the passed floors, and all she could make out were the janitors and some students that were doing some extra work or were getting detention.

She nodded at few of the known faces as she took the last set of stairs of the 4 floored building, her legs hurting a little as she was wearing a new set of heels.

Slowly, she opened the door that led to the terrace, "Is everything, okay?" She asked, her eyes looking around.

"Hey."

And she instantly turned around to find no one but River Blake sitting on a metal chair.

A guitar sitting on the floor.

"Hey." She whispered, tugging a strand of blonde hair behind her hair, a small smile making its way to her lips.

"You see breathless, are you okay?" He asked, a sudden worry engulfing his features.

"Yah... everything is fine. I saw your text and thought something bad happened." She played with the hem of her skirt, not daring to look at him in the eye.

That's when she felt him walk towards her. He ran his hands through her hair, making her look up.

"Everything is fine. Better than it can ever be." He said, smiling.

His smile made her stomach sick and she felt her hands turn sweaty.

"Sit down. I have something for you." At that, she frowned, confused, but sat on the chair that she did not even know was there before.

"Remember, I took guitar lessons in middle school?" He asked, to which, she nodded, smiling.

"Well, I had to learn it all over again. Turns out, I forgot everything. Mind you, I just learned this song." And then he grabbed the guitar before tuning it.

"Faye-" He started, "You make me the happiest. You make me feel things that I never knew were there. I know how much you love this song. I am still shit at singing, but for you, my sunshine, I am gonna try..."

"You know I'd fall apart without you

I don't know how you do what you do

'Cause everything that don't make sense about me

Makes sense when I'm with you

Like everything that's green, girl, I need you

But it's more than one and one makes two

Put aside the math and the logic of it

You gotta know you're wanted too"

And he had his eyes on her. Only her.

'Cause I wanna wrap you up

Wanna kiss your lips

I wanna make you feel wanted

And I wanna call you mine

Wanna hold your hand forever

And never let you forget it

Yeah, I, I wanna make you feel wanted

Anyone can tell you you're pretty, yeah

And you get that all the time, I know you do

But your beauty's deeper than the make-up

And I wanna show you what I see today...

When I wrap you up

When I kiss your lips.

I wanna make you feel wanted

And I wanna call you mine

Wanna hold your hand forever

And never let you forget it

'Cause, baby, I, I wanna make you feel wanted'

Tears were streaming down from her eyes down, and she was grasping for air. She was no longer sitting, no, she was in front of him now, her hands on her mouth.

'As good as you make me feel

I wanna make you feel better

Better than your fairy tales

Better than your best dreams

You're more than everything I need

You're all I ever wanted

All I ever wanted

And I just wanna wrap you up

Wanna kiss your lips

I wanna make you feel wanted

And I wanna call you mine

Wanna hold your hand forever

And never let you forget it

Yeah, I wanna make you feel wanted

Baby, I wanna make you feel wanted

You'll always be wanted"

And when he ended, she was in his arms, and he was holding her, tightly.

River was not the best singer. God, no, others would have said that he couldn't not even compete with the locals. But he was the best for her. Her favorite.

"I love you so much, sunshine. I just want to spend my whole life with you, kissing you, holding you, just being there for you and with you." He whispered, kissing the top of her head, making her grab him a little tighter if it was even possible.

"Come here." And he led her to the end of the terrace.

"Look down." And she did.

There was the football field. And half of the school population was standing there, grinning at them.

She spotted that Aubree, Madeline and others were there too.

And as shown as River signaled them with a thumbs up, they rised up the cardboards that they were holding.

"Date this douchebag?"

That's what the cardboards said altogether and all of that made her heart swell.

And she chuckled, rubbing the small tears from the back of her hand.

"What's the catch?" She asked, earning a laugh from him.

"Random kisses, lots of cuddles, warm hugs, my sweatshirts?"

"I think I would like that." And grabbing him, she pressed her lips on his, with an intention of never letting go.
