He looked at her

The way she needed to be looked at.

Like the whole world could crumble

And he wouldn't blink.

"Why the fuck am I such an idiot?" River grumbled under his breath as he looked at his now, messy room.

His eyes scanned the shopping bags for the hundredth time, just to meet up with disappointment.

He forgot to get a tie.

Grumbling, he looked at the mirror. His black shirt was tucked inside his black trousers and his hair was messy. He looked hot, damn hot.

Only if he could find a tie.

A knock on the door made him turn around. Letting out a frustrated sigh, he walked up to the door to open it.

And there stood Faye Lockwood, a smirk plastered on her face.

"What?" He asked, raising his eyebrow.

Faye extended her hand and pointed towards the bag that she was holding, motioning for him to take it.

He grabbed the package and instantly opened the box, just to find a black tie laying in it.

"How did you know?" He asked her, grinning.

"You always have the tendency to forget things, so, I thought that just in case you forget about the tie, you would have a backup plan. Well, looks like you really did forget about it, ha?" The smirk never left her face and she watched as his cheeks turned into a dark shade of red.

That is when her eyes fell on his physique and she froze, gulping hard. She found herself internally swooning as she shamelessly eyeraped him.

He looked hot, his shirt and trousers hugging his body perfectly. He looked so fucking edible that it made her breathing stop.

"Oh sunshine, take a picture, it will last longer." The smirk that made its way to his lips made her go all weak. She tried to look everywhere but his handsome face.

She did not know what was happening to her but she suddenly felt butterflies in her stomach. Her cheeks went all red and she tried to bit back with a comeback.

But it felt like she was having a really hard time in constructing a snarky remark.

"Well, you do know that I have a tendency to mess everything. Help me with the tie, will you?" And he pulled her inside the room.

Grumbling under her breath, she wrapped the tie around his neck, making him drew closer to her.

She pulled up his collar and started to fold the tie neatly. Everything would have gone right, everything would have gone right but, but River did the mistake of looking at her.

His breathing hitched as he ran his eyes through her beautiful face and suddenly he found himself pulling her closer. His hands rested on her hips and he continued staring.

Her long eyelashes, her pale skin, her slightly colored cheeks, her soft lips and her eyes, those eyes where River was already diving into. She was flawless for him, she was beautiful for him.

He did not know whether his love would ever be returned but he knew one thing for sure, he really did love her, he loved her to the sun and moon.

For him, she was his ray of hope, she was his cause of living.

How he wanted to kiss those pink full lips, how he wanted to whisper into her ears that he loved her and only her, how he wanted to hold her tightly in his arms, how he wanted to drown himself in her familiar scent, how he wanted to make her feel safe.

He loved Faye Lockwood, he has been loving her since the day he could remember.

He tugged a strand of blonde hair behind her ear unconciously and let out a trembling breath.

"River." Faye whispered, breathing heavily.

River Blake was making Faye Lockwood go weak on her knees.

River Blake was making her tremble.

She felt her legs go all jelly as soon as his hands touched her.

Fire was all over her body. She was burning under his touch and with every second it was getting hard for her to breath.

River Blake was beautiful.

River Blake was the only guy Faye had ever called beautiful.

His eyes, his warm hazel eyes were pulling her under a spell, his freckles complimented his face perfectly, his jaw was sharper than a knife and his hair, hell, they were too soft for their own good.

Faye was losing her mind, Faye was losing control.

And she did not seem to mind.

Hell, somewhere she loved the way all these were making her feel like.

Suddenly, River leaned to reach her level, breathing out and making her close her eyes. Next you know, they were just an inch away from each other.

Just an inch.

And hell, Faye was just a second away from closing the distance when someone cleared their throat, making them literally jump away from each other.

There stood Brenda George with a smirk on her face. She looked from River to Faye and then shook her head, "I am not Interrupting something, am I?"

They both colored deeply, looking like to deers caught in headlights.

"She, she was- helping me with the tie..." River said, stuttering.

"Oh, of course she was." The smirk was fresh visible on her face.

They remained like that for minutes, no one uttering a single word.

"Faye, do not you have to go and get ready?" River asked out of nowhere, not meeting her eyes.

Faye looked at him with confusion before nodding vigorously, "Oh yah, yah, I- I need to go." And then she excused herself from there, practically running out of the door.

And when River thought that the awkwardness was gone, his mom patted him in the back, whispering, "I need about five grandchildren."

"... hell, the chick was amazing in the bed." Xander ended with a smirk, making everyone laugh.

"Glad to hear that you and Connor have not changed a bit cause it feels like someone is quitting." Andrew said, nodding towards Xander before directing his growing smirk towards River.

"What do you mean?" Connor asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Why do not you ask River?" Andrew said, patting River's back, earning a hard glare from him.

"Yah River, what is he talking about?" Xander frowned.

"I do not know what he is talking about." River gritted out.

"When was the last time you slept with someone?" Andrew's gaze was suspecting.

"Well, ah... a year ago." River didn't dare to look at them.

Xander choked on his drink and Connor's eyes narrowed by a fraction, hell, even Andrew looked like he had seen a ghost.

"What do you mean a year? Are you turning into a saint?" Connor looked at him with a frown, not believing in his words.

"No. He is in love... and honestly, I do not blame him anymore." Andrew gasped as he looked at something behind River. Connor and Xander followed his gaze, their eyes narrowed slightly as they found what he was looking at.

River frowned at them before turning around.

And there stood Faye Lockwood, a warm smile embracing her beauty. Every man in the room was looking at her, awestruck, gasping and River was holding the urge to punch everyone in the face.

She looked beautiful.

She looked so so so beautiful.

So beautiful that River's eyes didn't leave her for a second as she walked down the stairs, no one's eyes left her as she walked up to River, smiling at him.

His breathing stopped.

She was wearing a burgundy colored gown, with full sleeves and a v–neckline which showed a little amount of cleavage, keeping it classy. The lower part of the dress had a high slit, making it look all sexy and elegant.

She looked perfect. She looked breathtakingly beautiful.

"Hi." She punched his shoulder lightly, smiling.

"Why are you doing this to me Faye? I am losing my mind, I look like a lost puppy around you. You are doing what autumn does to the leaves. I am falling Faye, hard."
