Mia frowned when she caught sight of Brett. He walked past us—as if he doesn't know us and sauntered out of the hall.

"He changed," Mia whispered, but loud enough for me to hear.

Because he was hurt. I wanted to say.

I reached for Mia's hand and her gaze shifted to mine. I am relieved to know I was not the reason for her crying (though partly deep down, I have an idea why she's in glum). A wave of sympathy flashed over me as her eyes watered, but she looked up, restraining herself from crying again. "I miss him, Anna. I miss him so much that it hurts."

"Oh dear, you have no idea how much he adores you. I see it, Mia. You were just blinded by the idea of Ash that you put Brett in the cage of friendzone. All those years, he was chasing after you, why don't you do it this time? You will never lose your femininity if you will show your admiration to the man you like." I gave her an encouraging smile and added, "You got this."

I reached for his cheeks and wiped her tears. "Come on. It's now or never."

We exited the hall and butted in the throng of boisterous students. Mia, who was scurrying her way out bumped over Zonia, who just giving out free flowers. Zonia stumbled and her flowers toppled over her hands. I hurriedly scrunched down and helped her, muttering apologies on Mia's behalf.

"Brett!" Mia yelled.

Brett looked behind and a flying flip flop met his face. All the people in the corridors gasped in astonishment. My eyes widen in shock. Mia's brows furrowed as she was panting so heavily; her hands balled into fists at her side as if in any moment, she'll launch and strangle them with her bare hands. Dang, this girl's enraged.

"Mia what are you doing? This is not what I meant when I say fight for your love. Not literally. " I hissed at her but she's not listening.

"You," she pointed at the girl next to Brett. "Who the hell are you?"

"Me? I'm... I'm his girl— girl friend." The girl stammered.

Mia, who was not able to notice the pause between the girl and the friend, scoffed. Looking at the girl from head to toe, she said. "Girlfriend? You are out of his league."

"Mia, stop making a scene," Brett said, scratching his swollenforehead. Mia's nostrils flared.

"How dare you? I am a civilized individual who will never lay my pretty manicured nails on your filthy fish." She gritted.

Oh dear, that's so mean.

"And you," She's now glaring at him. "You have no right to hold her hand. It doesn't fit." She let out a heavy sigh and added, "But yours and mine do."

I snorted. The students on-site let out a loud hoot, but Brett was not able to hold a grip of Mia and let out an exasperated sigh.

"Mia not now. You're annoying when you're hungry. Go, eat and have fun with Ann." Brett said calmly despite him looking pissed off.

"Seriously? Hungry? Don't you get it? I don't want you with her!"

"Don't you get it? I told you not now." he fired back.

"I told you to drop her hand and stay away from her!

"Dammit, Brett. Are you dumb? Don't you feel it? Don't you see that I'm fucking jealous!"

I gulped. Silence engulfed upon us that you can hear the pin drop. Right, the bomb has been dropped. She finally said it. Brett cleared out his throat, a sly smile escaped his lips.

"I'm in a fucking handcuffs for jail booth, babe." Brett smiled at Mia, raising his hand and the girl.

Flabbergasted, she blinked. She opened her mouth, but no sound came out. As a flush of red spread across her cheeks, she realized what was going on. "Oh, so nothing is going on with you two?" she said shyly, looking away.

Brett shook his head.

"All right then... happy festival!" Mia walked out, flushed. I pouted at Brett as soon as she was out of sight, and he laughed.

"Nice acting skills," I said as I snatched the key from his pocket and set them free. I smiled as the girl waved goodbye while Brett thanked her for her participation.

Truly, everything was just a show. Last time, I said I wanted to help Brett to get a move with Mia. Brett needed to bear his intention in Mia's life; as well as to help Mia reassess what she felt towards our not-so-best boy. Hence I came up with a plan to make Mia jealous. I wanted to know if she has feelings for him. However, I had no idea Brett had decided to do it today. I thought Mia was upset because of the kiss. Nonetheless, I am glad how our plan turned out in the end.

"I thought she was crying because of me." I said as I nudged at him.

"Partly, she was crying because of you." He retorted lightly. "Fortunately your stupid plan seems to work."

I rolled my eyes. "What a very nice way of saying thank you."

He smiled then patted my head. We're now walking to the southwest wing hallway leading to the field.

"Thanks, Anna."

"Everything just to make you happy."

"That's so sweet." He cooed. "I want you to be happy as well."

I raised my brow.

Brett suddenly grabbed my hand from behind, clasping a cold metal on my wrist and the other next to the post. I stared at him in horror as he slid the handcuff's key into his back pocket and pulled out a silly thin tie. He tightly wrapped the tie around my waist to pin me, I tussled and tried to kick him in the shin.

"I'm just doing orders," he explained between breaths.

"You ungrateful lad!" I wailed.

"Your dearest knight will save you. If you have any." Brett spoke, his words fading in the distance.

"Great! Now I am jailed with a post."

I looked at the handcuffs in absolute despair. I tried jerking my hand downward, hoping to free my wrist, but it didn't work. I cursed under my breath. I'm going to pull Brett's hair until he's completely bald! I looked about, hoping to see some familiar faces, but there was no one. Seriously? My dearest knight will save me? Brett, you've got to be kidding me! I was about to give up when I heard footsteps from behind me.

I turned around and a sudden waft of air passed through me, my vision turning pitch black. I tried to reach for the person trying to blindfold me, but the other person gripped my shoulder to keep me still.

"Calm down, We're harmless." The person whispered, his voice sounds familiar. "Just doing orders."

Hearing the words for the second time, I asked irritably. "Ordered who?"

I heard shuffling from behind and I felt my wrist freed from the cuffs. They stuff something in my hair and pushed a smooth satin fabric over my head and arms. I felt a warm hand gently pushed me at the back and lead me to God knows who.
