Chapter 45:

Omar got discharged two weeks ago which meant that I happily moved in with a big smile plastered on my lips. It was all rainbows and sunshine, there really is a light at the end of this tunnel. I gladly take back my words on karma shipping me off to his world because now I want to be stuck there, forever.

"Morning your royal chubbiness." Omar comes into our bedroom holding a tray of pancakes with chocolate syrup, potatoes with cheese and hot cocoa. My eyes slide to his body, he's dressed in black tee and grey sweatpants. His long black hair is tied back in a little ponytail. He comes to my side and drops the tray on the bedside drawer. He faces me and plants a kiss on my lips, making my cheeks go all pink.

Damn Omar! A little kiss and you're blushing.

"Looks good, you made this?"

"Yup, this handsome husband of yours sure did." He says proudly making me to roll my eyes.

This whole breakfast in bed is cheesy, not that I'm complaining though. Sometimes you need a cheesy romance to make your morning amazing right?

"Why are you looking at me like that?" My brows crooks in question as he stares at me with a small smirk playing on his lips.

"You're not dressed." He wiggles his brows. I gasp in realisation and push him off the bed as he laughs.

"I'll leave you to that princess." He winks and leaves.

"Ugghhhh!" I groan and get into the bathroom. I perform ritual bath and do all the hygienic stuffs. Once I'm done, I stay in front of the bathroom mirror and stare at my body, accessing it. My boobs feel heavy and my nipples are dark. I think I've gotten a little fatter, I've been feeling dizzy lately and rushing to the toilet most times to vomit. I guess my period would be here soon. As if on cue, I feel a little push. Sitting back, I check my panty and light pinkish red spot confirms my suspicion.

I deliberate on calling Omar to help give me a tampon but calling him is calling Omar which we all know is a sweet disaster and I'm still sticking to my decision of not leaving the bathroom. I start screaming his name loudly till the door opens, revealing a smirking Omar.

"You know what you have to say, right?" He folds his hands stubbornly with a wicked boyish grin.

"Just give me or God so help you I'll smack you." I threaten.

"And how're you gonna do that princess?"

I narrow my eyes at him in annoyance. Oh yeah he's right about that.

"Okay please sweet husby."

"You missed handsome." He complains.

"Ugh, please sweet handsome husby."

He hands me the tampon as his smile widens. "Good girl."

I roll my eyes and wash my hands when I'm done. He later joins me in bed as we eat the meal together.

"Your stomach hurts?" He asks looking at my body unhappily.

"Nope." I'm fine.

I'm definitely a lucky person, Yasmin would be screaming and clutching her stomach in pain. Fortunately for me, I don't experience severe pain, just mood swings and irritation.

"I love you." He says, smiling dearly.

I roll my eyes at him in attempt to hide the heat radiating all over my body. "You said that ten seconds ago."

"Exactly why I have to say it again, I love you." I chuckle like some highschool lovesick teen. "I love you too."

My phone suddenly rings making us jump in surprise.

"Hey bee! How're you doing?"

"Alhamdulillah I'm good. No time to chit chat, come to the hospital. Yasmin is in labour." Abubakar says excitedly, cutting the call before I get the chance to say bye.

"Yasmin is about to give birth, get your things fast." I push him off the bed and wear a long blue Abaya and white headscarf. Immediately he grabs his key, I walk quickly to his car. I'm not the one giving birth but I'm so happy and nervous.

We get there in ten minutes and find Abubakar, Annabelle and Jake sitting. We exchange pleasantries and wait for the result. "I thought she was due next month?" I look at Annabelle who nods in approval. "So did I. Just a month earlier. May she deliver safely."

"Ameen."

"One day it's gonna be you." Omar teases with a smile.

"Stop." I playfully return the smile shyly.

We sit there for more than an hour, anxiously awaiting the results. The doctor comes out with a wide smile.

"Alhamdulillah, congratulations. She gave birth to twins."

"Alhamdulillah!" We smile in happiness.

"Can we go in now?" Jake asks hopefully, his eyes sparkling with joy. I can't even imagine the kind of happiness erupting in him.

The doctor nods and we thank her before going in.

"Oh My God! Congrats dear." I squeal and rush to her side. Pecking her all over her face and going to my little angels. A nurse hands me one of the twins. I smile in awe at the little baby girl in my arms. Her little cute mouth opens yawning, I place a hand over her mouth as she tries to suck on it, making me giggle.

I pass the baby to the dad and pick the other. "Masha Allah. So beautiful."

"Alhamdulillah. May Allah bless you with His gift to you, and may you give thanks, may the child reach the maturity of years, and may you be granted its righteousness." Omar prays and congratulates Jake and Yasmin. Mum can't seem to stop smiling from cheek to cheek.

I spend the next few days with Yasmin at her home. They named the twins Hannah and Sa'eed.

"Do you know that in two weeks time, your deal with Omar will expire. What next?"

"I completely forgot about it. We aren't following the rules anymore. It's not just pretence anymore, he's my husband."

"That's so sweet." She smiles. "I would love to spend more time but I have to go. I have a case to work on. Tomorrow, Movies at mine?"

"Totally." I see her off before going to the kitchen. Omar appears from the backyard, encircling his hands round my waist as I prepare dinner. "Can you come upstairs with me. There's a rat."

I roll my eyes at him. "You scared of a rat?"

"Maybe."

I get a broomstick and go upstairs with the scared cat trailing behind me. Immediately I get into the room, I stop on my tracks, my eyes wondering round the room in happiness and surprise.

Little lights are everywhere. He drops vases of my favourite flower, lily everywhere. The bed is designed with rose petals and candles are set on the bedside tables and dresser. As I step further into the room, I mistakenly step on a dropped button. The lights suddenly turns off and little sparks in the balloons all around lights up. I go to the bed, tears staining my eyes. The petals on the bed are formed into words.

I turn back at Omar who is on one knee holding a little white box showing a little ring with Diamond in the middle.

"I don't really know what to say. Would you save me another seizure and please say 'yes?' I don't even know what I had do if you don't. Probably return to being a hot mess."

"Ugh! Can you not ruin the romantic moment?"

"I can't help it. But you do know my life would definitely suck without you. I want to be there for you, now and always. When I say I love you, I can't find a reason to. Perhaps, it's because you're the reason itself. When I saw Yasmin at the hospital, it made me wonder if I could be the one anxiously waiting in joy and nervousness. I have been dying to ask you since then. How about we tell our kids in the next twelve years how you said yes to my proposal, huh?"

This time my voice is shaking as the unwanted tears roll down my cheeks in joy. "Yes!" I reply and jump on him, hugging him tightly. He hugs me with the same force, maybe a little tighter.

"You have no idea how happy this makes me knowing that I asked the question, not my brother who I had to replace on the wedding day." He laughs and slips the ring through my finger that fits perfect.

"Dance?" He asks, taking my hand in his before I even reply.

He turns on the player, filling the room with slow song.

🎶You gave me a shoulder when I needed it

You showed me love when I wasn't feeling it

You helped me fight when I was giving in

And you made me laugh when I was losing it🎶

I rest my head on his chest, smiling as I take in the whole situation. His hands tighten around my waist, drawing me closer while my fingers play with the locks of his hair.

🎶'Cause you are, you are

The reason why I'm still hanging on

'Cause you are, you are

The reason why my head is still above water

And if I could I'd get you the moon

And give it to you

And if death was coming for you

I'd give my life for you🎶

I fell deeply in love with a man I so much wanted to get away from. Funny how life keeps you with the one person you couldn't stand for a reason. Allah does miraculous things in many ways. It took me months to realise what it's all about. Love is the chain connecting two souls even against their wills. Because deep down, the chain has always been there.

🎶'Cause you are, you are

The reason why I'm still hanging on

'Cause you are, you are

The reason why my head is still above water

And if I could I'd get you the moon

And give it to you

And if death was coming for you

I'd give my life for you🎶

I had do it all over again, if it means ending up in his arms. Life isn't perfect, it never is. And nothing is better than two imperfect souls being perfect for each other in this world of twisted imperfect connections.

🎶'Cause you are, you are

Oh, you are

Oh, you are

You ar🎶

Some highschool love don't die and our love is no exception.
