《Clementine x Male reader season 1》Chapter 37: The Sewers

Y/N Pov.
We had just barely managed to escape the ocean of undead that fell upon us and now we're in the sewer. A walker fell from the open manhole above and crashed to the ground, smashing its brain.
Lee: Clementine! Can you hear me?! If you can hear me, just get back to the house, okay? we'll meet you there!
Y/n: Yeah Clem, no worries!
We looked at the ladder and then the sewer hole entrance that had an ass-ton of walkers on top of it.
Lee: Shit.
Lee then turned to me.
Lee: Thanks for the help but it was dangerous, please don't hurt yourself trying to save me.
Y/n: No problem and I don't care if it was dangerous, I'm NOT letting you die.
Lee smiled and pats my head as we then start to walk through the sewer system.
We walk down the steps and through the sewers, and we reach a tunnel sloping down with sewage running through it. We start to carefully walk through it. As we were going down we accidentally slipped and fell but I managed to land on my feet but Lee landed in the nasty water.
Y/n: Gross *Chuckles* I think we're gonna need a shower when we get back.
I held out my hand and he smiled and took it.
Lee: *Chuckles* Yep, that's for sure.
Y/n: Half-eaten sewer rats. Walkers must be down here, too.
Lee: Yeah, we need to be cautious.
We continue to walk through the sewer, and we come across a group of walkers consuming a corpse. We enter the small passageway on the left.
Y/n: I wonder who they're munching?
Lee: I don't know but it's not about to be us.
I then point to a weird thing on the wall of the sewer.
Y/n: What's that?
Lee: Looks like some kind of drainage pipe.
Y/n: Think it still works?
Lee: Guess we're gonna find out.
Lee turns the green wheel of the pipe to the right. Water begins flowing from the pipe on the other side of the passageway grate, and the sound attracts the walkers.

Lee: Good thing we're out here and not in there. (looks at wheel) Hmm, seems loose.
A walker stood in front of the passageway.
Y/n: That's not good.
We take the wheel with us. We turn left and use the climbing axe to unlock the grate in front of the passageway. Lee opens it and we enter the area from earlier. He places the wheel on the drainage pipe and turns it to the right. Water flows through the grate near the pipe, and walkers stop eating and approach the sound.
Y/n: Here they come.
We return to the passageway and enter the area the walkers previously were. We notice that the partially consumed corpse is Chuck, his gun lying nearby.
Y/n: Jesus... I'm so sorry chuck...
Lee: Oh, my god. Chuck. He must've tried to hide out down here. The poor bastard. (picks up gun) No bullets. He must've saved the last one for himself. (puts gun away) You deserved better, old man.
3rd Pov.
Lee noticed that Y/n was feeling guilty about Chuck's death but he knew it wasn't his fault.
Lee: (Whispering) Hey kiddo it's okay, it wasn't your fault.
Y/n: (Whispering) But if it wasn't for me Chuck wouldn't have needed to save me and end up this way...
Lee: (Whispering) Look, he chose to save you because it was his decision, he knew what might happen but he didn't care. He chose to save you, it's not your fault.
Y/n felt a little better and Lee hugged him.
Y/n: (Whispering) Thanks Lee.
They pull from the hug.
Lee: (Whispering) No problem.
They started to walk again.
Lee and Y/n go to the end of the hallway; a single walker stands at the end of it, its back turned as it concentrates on the grate in front of it.
Lee and Y/n sneak toward the walker, planning to kill it with ice pick. Suddenly, a walker's hand reaches out from the grate on the floor and grab's Lee's leg. The first walker starts to approach Lee.
Y/n: I'll deal with the one ahead.
Y/n runs and sweeps the singular walkers Leg causing it to fall, then in one swift motion he takes out his knife and stabs it in the head. Lee takes care of his walker

Lee: You okay?!
Y/n: I'm fine Lee, I'm okay.
Lee was reassured now.
We walk to the end of the hallway, where there is a manhole cover with no ladder leading up to it.
Y/n: Hm, No cover? Convenient.
Lee: Yeah...
Lee and I look at the sign and try to do what Molly does but it doesn't go as planned because the sign comes loose and we both fall.
Y/n: Okay, maybe we should try that on a solid surface next time.
Lee: Yeah, no kidding.
I then noticed that the sign had come loose and that there was what looked to be room behind it.
Y/n: Lee, Look!
Lee turned and looked at the sign and the room behind it.
Lee: What the...
Y/n: What is it?
Lee: Must've been one of those old nuclear fallout shelters.
Y/n: Yet instead of nuclear fallout we got dead people. Honestly we got lucky.
Lee just shrugged.
Lee: Look at all this. It's enough to keep people alive for months.
Y/n: Ooooo, Look trail mix and a jug of water.
Y/n picks up the bag of trail mix and puts it in his pocket, then looks at the big water jug, it's around five gallons.
Y/n: Think we should take it?
Lee: Not sure yet, lets see what's behind this door first but stay behind me.
Y/n: You got it.
Lee opens the door and enters the next room with Y/n behind him, where he finds a of survivors. of them shakily points a revolver at him, and Lee raises his hands.
Y/N Pov.
As I stood behind Lee I saw an old man pointing a gun at him and he looked terrified, I know he doesn't have what it takes to pull the trigger.
Old guy: Who are you?
Lee: It's alright. It's okay. I don't want any trouble.
Lee avoid using we to not alert that I was behind him, smart move...
Old guy: Neither do we. Which is why you'd do well to turn around and leave. Right now.
Lee: Look, I'm sorry I disturbed you folks. I'll just be going.
He stood in front of me so they couldn't see me.
Large Lady: You can't let him leave. He's from Crawford! If he goes back there and they find out we're down here...
Old guy: Are you from Crawford? Don't lie to me, I'll know.
Large Lady: Where else can he be from? Everywhere else around here is dead.
Old guy: I think you'd better start talking.
Lee: I came here with a small group, hoping to find a boat. We just want to get out of here. How about you just let me go?
Old guy: Ain't no boats around here. Crawford took everything.
Lee: Yeah, I heard.
I'm kinda surprised they haven't noticed me yet but Lee is standing in front of me and is avoiding using "We" and words like that, so I guess it's not to farfetched.
Large Lady: You can't trust him, Vernon. You can't let him leave.
So, the old guy is Vernon?
Vernon: What do you want me to do, shoot him in the head?
Large Lady: Why not? That'd be more of a mercy than anyone from Crawford ever showed us. Think, Vernon! what do you think they'll do if they find out we're down here, right under their feet?
Vernon: Damn it, you're right. I'm sorry, friend. Can't take the risk.
At that point I decided to speak up.
Y/n: Wait! Don't shoot Lee!
They were all surprised when I stepped out from behind Lee and Vernon looked at me.
Vernon: Wait, who are you?
Y/n: I'm Y/n, this is Lee, and He's telling the truth we're not from Crawford. We only got here a day ago.
Vernon lowered his gun and long story short he decided to help Lee and I make it back to our group after Lee told him about Clem.

Bobby likes Pabst Blue Ribbon, NASCAR races, and throwing fireballs. A through and through Georgia boy, raised down in the sticks but now working with all things mystic. He is, in other words, a magician. Not just any magician- but one bound by the most egregious of terms: business contracts. See, a long time ago, Bobby got himself involved with a dragon whose business was making magicians, and Bobby wanted magic to be his business. Both of them having common interest, Bobby agreed to sign over his services in exchange for phenomenal (draconic) magic. A pretty awesome deal, right? The contract put him at the top percentage of human magicians, on top of having the backing of a dragon patron, and a fantastic set of benefits befitting an esteemed contractor, so it'd be smooth sailing from then on, right? Not so. That kind of power isn't granted without strings attached, and Bobby's practically bound up in them. Following the esoteric laws set forth by magicians , juggling them with the mortal interests he still has to abide by, and finding himself at the beck and call of a fickle and opaque patron makes his life as a magician a rollercoaster of ups and downs. But when his patron sets him on a strange task- with stranger company, no less, even Bobby has to question what his mission really is. Delving into fantastic crimes and cracking open mysteries is just the least he can do, and he'll do it with the help of his gun, his wand, and his trusted allies both large and small. --- Cover art is of the Georgia Guidestones.
