"what the fuck, I swear I'll kill whoever is responsible for this"
Mason and Emilia looked at each other then laughed.
"What's going on" Matteo asked.
"I have no idea" Mason said putting on a straight face.
Dante came storming into the living room. He looked furious, so much so that Emilia regretted doing it. "He looks really angry, you don't think he will do anything do you" she whispered to Mason.
"No he won't do a thing"
"I swear to god one of you better own up to it right now"
"Okay enough shouting, you're scaring Emilia" Mason said.
"Fine I'm going to dad about this" and Dante stormed back out.
Emilia looked at the door with fear. She had angered Dante and he was going to tell dad, he would probably be angry too. And then who knows what.
"Hey calm down, you were asleep remember, I did it by myself" Mason quietly reassured Emilia. He saw the fear and decided to fully take the blame as it was his fault anyway.
"But I did it too" she whispered.
"No. You were asleep Lia"
Suddenly Alesandro walked in with a smug Dante.
"Right children, one of you has done this so please come forward now" he spoke seriously but it was obvious he was trying not to laugh
"Sorry dad it was me, I thought it would be funny" Mason said.
"Yes well it wasnt funny was it. You shouldn't have done that" Alesandro scolded but he was smiling.
"Yes father I understand but on the positive side it cheered Lia up didn't it "
Emilia nodded "it did cheer me up, he looks less grumpy now too"
"See you cheered your sister up" Alesandro said to Dante who still looked pissed.
"You both better hope this washes off" he said and walked out.
Matteo and Mason were first to break and laughed. Even Alesandro chuckled slightly. "I hope you both didn't use permenant marker" Alesandro stated.
"It's not permenant"
"Good. Why don't you and Matteo put away the blankets and cushions, Emilia do you want to come help me make breakfast "
Emilia nodded and followed Alesandro out into the kitchen.
"I should be scolding you but his face was priceless, just no more messing with markers okay" Alesandro knew from the moment he walked into the living room Emilia and Mason had done it.
Emilia looked guilty and it was done with masons markers.
Emilia figured he knew it was her so didn't bother pretending she had nothing to do with it.
"Okay I won't do it again but in my defense Mason convinced me"
"I'm sure he did, it was quite funny, just a shame it wasn't on Damon"
"Speaking of Damon, why don't you go wake him up for breakfast" Alesandro added wanting to get them talking.
"He's back?"
"Yes, I'm sure he would like to see you too"
"Do I have to" Emilia couldn't bare to see the dark cold look in his eyes again, she didn't want to acknowledge the fact he probably hated her or believed she was dangerous.

"Well no you don't have to"
"I can't yet" Emilia muttered.
"Okay sweetheart that's fine. I'll go wake him up, but you must keep an eye on the food"
Emilia nodded.
Alesandro left the room. He was a little disappointed he couldn't get Emilia and Damon talking but it was okay because he would have them talking soon. Damon should be calm by now so he would be back to his usually moody self.
He knocked on the door and waited a few minutes when he decided Damon was still asleep so he entered quietly.
"What do you want" Damon asked not bothering to open his eyes. He had woken up when he heard the knocking, he was hoping if he ignored it long enough the person would go away. He was sprawled across the bed, his duvet covering the bottom half of him so all his tattoos could be seen on his upper body.
"Breakfast is almost ready" Alesandro said.
"Does it look like I want breakfast" Damon said still not opening his eyes.
"Not in the state your in that's why I figured I'd wake you up early so you could make yourself look at least human." Alesandro said and began opening his curtains.
"Close those fucking curtains or I swear to god..." Damon snapped.
" talk to me that way. We having breakfast and you be there" Alesandro replied darkly and with so much authority it had Damon complying "yes father " he anwsered.
"Great I'll leave you to get up" Alesandros voice changed back to its normal tone, warm and gentle.
He walked out of the room like nothing had happened.
Damon sat up pissed that he had been woken up. He knew not to disobey his father especially when he used that tone so he reluctantly got out of bed and got ready for the day. It was a Sunday so with no work he decided to ditch the suit and stick to a shirt and trousers. He was too tired to button his shirt up to the collar so he had a few top buttons left open, he was also too tired to sort his hair out so he left that as what he deemed a mess too.
When he finally got downstairs, his family were having breakfast. He noticed Dante had flowers on his cheeks and a joker smile.
Dante hadn't been able to fully wash it off.
"It's nice of you to finally join us Damon. Sit down, get some breakfast" Alesandro told his son in a some what snarky tone.
Damon sat down but it felt different, Emilia wasnt sat next to him, she was sat next to their dad
Alessandro Dante
Emilia Matteo
Mason. Damon
He glared a little at mason for stealing his spot but didn't say anything, he was irratable at the moment.
He grabbed a slice of toast and a few other stuff and began eating silently. He instantly noticed Matteo only had a slice of toast. He sent Alesandro a look when he caught his eyes and Alesandro who had already spotted this shook his head.

He was glad his son was eating the toast however he knew something was up, but here was not the place to have that conversation.
Damon respected his father's decision not to mention it at the table but he did slip some extra bacon and stuff onto his plate when the rest of them were talking.
Matteo looked down at the food Damon had put on his face with disgust, he then looked at Damon who didn't even glance his way.
Not long after, Emilia decided to ask the question that was on her mind.
"Where's Lexi"
Damons mood darkened further hearing her name. Everyone turned to him, they were all curious too.
"Probably sleeping still" Damon said with annoyance.
"Oh okay" Emilia focused back on her food. Damon didn't look happy and it was probably her fault.
He probably believed her.
Alesandro knew from what she said the other day, what she was thinking. He wished he could tell his son to stop the bullshit but he told Emilia he wouldn't tell him.
"
"Sorry about that bambina, we will go back to English so you can understand us" Alesandro said.
"It's okay" Emilia replied.
She glanced over at Damon and all she saw was darkness. It terrified her knowing the fun Damon wasnt there, she would never dare to call him a stalker now.
"So bambina what would you like to do today, anything you want" Alesandro asked.
"I don't really know" Emilia had no clue what she wanted to do.
"That's okay, well I need to go shopping at some point would you like to come with me, or you could do something with your brothers"
Emilia knew by brothers he meant Damon.
"How come Mary isn't doing the shopping " Dante asked.
"She's on holiday " Matteo said.
"Yes Matteo is right, so guys tell Emilia what you're doing today so she can decide what she wants to do"
"Well I'm going to be busy most of the day but I presume I'll just be gaming or something the rest of the day" Dante said
"I'll probably be helping Dante then I'm going out" Damon anwsered no emotion.
"Not a clue I might binge watch something " Mason said
"I might go have a nap or something" Matteo said.
Alesandro and Damon shared a look.
"Okay so your brother's are boring, let's forget them and we will go find something to do and on the way back we will go shopping"
"Okay" Emilia agreed
"Great go get ready" they had finished breakfast by now.
Everyone started to leave. Alesandro stopped Matteo "can we talk" he asked him.
"Sure what about"
"Let's go to my office" Alesandro said to avoid the others walking in.
So Alesandro took Matteo up to his office with Damon following.
"Am I in trouble? I swear I didn't do anything " Matteo said as soon as they entered.
"You aren't in trouble but we noticed your lack of eating" Alesandro said gently.
"Just not hungry must have been from all those snacks last night"
"Okay but Matteo remember what we talked about, you need to eat, it's not your fault, none of this is, we are worried about you. We love you and don't want anything bad to happen to you" Alesandro told him.
"It is my fault though. If I'd have walked the other way she wouldn't have been stabbed, if I hadn't have believed Lexi about them wanting some time alone. I just thought it was overwhelming for them both meeting everyone, so I left them to talk about it. It was my fault. I was suppose to be watching them. I did nothing and she nearly died. What if Damon hadn't have come back early, none of us even noticed, we weren't near the lake. She could have died twice because of me"
"Matteo it's not your fault you didn't know, you were doing what you thought was right" Alesandro said and hugged his son.
Once the hug was over, Damon who was stood silently watching with a blank expression stepped forward "we do not blame you Matteo, like father said, it isn't your fault. You couldn't have known these stuff. I was there and I did get her out, she's safe, she's okay" Damon reassured him but his last sentence was mainly self reassurance.
"You can come with us today you know" Alesandro said.
"But what if she blames me, besides dont you want some time just you two"
"She could never blame you and it's just as important that I spend my time with you too. So will you come with us"
"Fine but only if Emilia is okay with it"
"I'm sure she will be, but I'll ask her for you" Alesandro said already knowing she would want him to come.
"Okay" Matteo seemed a little better now.
"Great I just need a word alone with Damon then I'll ask" Alesandro said, Matteo took this as a cue to leave.
"If we keep an eye on him for a few days, let me know if you see anything when I'm not around. If nothing changes I'll get in touch with a doctor"
"He just needs reassurance it's not his fault then he should be okay once he believes us" Damon added.
"Either way I'd like a doctor's opinion if he doesn't get better. Now as for Alexia, she is never to step foot in those cells with those men in there. I am going to see if we can get her admitted to a psych hospital in a few days though"
"I thought I'd just torture her slowly and then kill her eventually"
"I don't want her dead Damon and if you dare kill her you will find yourself anwsering to me and I can assure you, you do not want that" again Alesandros tone had Damon complying "yes father "
"Oh and Damon I suggest you loose this whole attitude around Emilia, I don't think it's good being around her like this" he couldn't help himself, he kept his promise by not telling him how she felt but he couldn't keep letting him act like he was around her.

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

In short (pun intended!), ranging from a tidbit for those who just want to take a short break to a hearty breakfast for those who want a full-fledged 'short story', there is everything! Author's Note: Hello everyone! I actually wrote the part written below as a post-script in a pre-chapter author's note in the first chapter! I should have written it here! Well, here goes! I'll update a story every Mon, Wed and Fri...well, as many stories I have right now. If I write more (when I have the time since I have to devote time to my other fiction "A Student...Like You"), I'll post those new ones then!

Progenitor of Mana
Leo had always felt something was wrong with him. Hell, the world even confirmed this for him with the bundle of mental and physical health issues he had to battle his whole life. At least he always had his imaginary friend, The 'Voice', to guide him through his most troubling times. But what happens when the world comes to an end at the behest of something called 'The System'? And maybe The 'Voice' wasn't as imaginary as he thought as it had been telling him this day was coming for a year. This story is not for the light hearted, at least that is the direction I have it going.

Aeternalis
One born of nothingness. A world born of everything. To return all to nothing. Or surrender to everything. A man born into an infinite world, trying to find his path to the top. Trials and tribulations come from friends and foes alike until all bow before him. ------------------------------------- Author here! This is my 3rd story on RoyalRoad, the other two having long since been dropped years ago. They were a mess of ideas and had no real substanence to them, leading me to begin hating writing them and eventually just stop writing altogether for about a year and a half. Finally, after reading hundreds of thousands of pages of novels, from low fantasy to sci-fi litrpg's to thousands of pages long xianxias, I finally feel ready to write a real story that isn't a cesspool of ideas blended together. I plan to see this out to the end, as I already have the first few major arcs planned out unlike my other stories where I thought of ideas as I wrote. This story takes place in a world with a litrpg system, as per tags. This isn't a VRMMO or Reincarnation story. The main character exists in and is from said world. There are some differences from other litrpg's which will be explained in author notes in the few few chapters. I plan to publich 6-7 chapters a week, each 2-3k words long. If i fail to do so I will create a back-log I have to eventually make up but as of writing this it's the summer for me so I'll have plenty of time to write. Enjoy, and welcome to the world of Aeternalis.
