Emilia looked around in confusion.

"Emilia do you remember who we are, who you are"

Emilia didn't say anything, She didn't nod or shake her head. She just looked at her arm, hooked up to a machine, then she looked at the machine.

Alesandro and Damon shared a look of concern.

"Mason go tell the doctors she's awake, Dante, Matteo, Lexi go wait in the waiting room" Alessandro told his children.

"But" Dante and Matteo tried simultaneously.

"I'm her twin, I should stay" Lexi said.

"Enough, and go wait outside" he told the three.

The three of them reluctantly left.

Mason was quick to get a doctor and he came back with one within seconds. Alesandro and Damon figured the doctor had been walking past or even on his way here.

"Ah miss Russo, you're finally awake, you took a nasty fall. Do you remember anything about the incident" the doctor said.

Emilia continued to stare at the floor.

"Do you remember anything, perhaps who these three men are" the doctor tried.

Still nothing.

"I know it's confusing but can you nod or shake your head please" the doctor tried.

"Emilia you need to anwser the doctor, it's just a few yes or no questions" Alesandro tried.

Still nothing.

The doctor took notes on this and her behaviour "miss Russo can I at least ask you to look up" the doctor tried.

Still nothing.

"Do you think she can hear us" Mason asked the question on everyone's mind.

"No she can hear" Damon said. He had plenty of experience with deaf people as he often made them deaf.

"Can I talk to her alone" Damon asked.

Knowing how close they were, Alesandro and Mason agreed, The doctor who was getting no where left too.

"Ok Emilia it's just us now, you don't have to speak or write, you don't even have to look at me but can you anwser these questions, all you need to do is nod or shake your head "

No response.

Damon decided to take a different approach.

"Okay how about we both sit in silence, I need to order some stalking equipment anyway " it was a joke, he already had surveillance equipment from mafia stuff.

"Of course I'm going to need to buy a drone so it can follow you around when I can't " he added.

He didn't even get a smile which concerned him.

Maybe she had forgotten. If that was the case he probably sounded creepy as fuck right now.

"Ok one question, do you remember us"

To Damon's suprise she responded, she didn't look up or speak, she just nodded.

"Oh thank god for a moment I thought I probably sound like a creep" he said dramatically.

"Mind you, I think your friends will start to refer to me as your creepy older brother, I'm going to have to start lurking in the shadows watching you" he joked, purposely making it sound really bad in hopes she would insult him like she normally would.

"Do you remember your friends too" he asked.

She nodded.

"Do you remember how you got here"

Emilia thought about it but her mind was blank she remembered pain and then she must have fell.

She shook her head.

"Okay, are you in any pain"

Emilia nodded and pointed to her arm, she already had a cast put on.

"Oh right, yes you broke it when you fell" Damon said.

Emilia then looked to her side near her ribs.

"Yeah do you remember what happened'

She shook her head.

"Well the theory is someone attacked you and you fell or was pushed down the stairs" Damon explained.

"Of course all that matters right now is getting you back to normal" Damon added. He wasn't worried about catching the person responsible, he had people on the job. His only concern was Emilia. Whoever did it just had a head start, the outcome would be the same, he would find them and make them pay.

"I'm going to get the doctor back now, he needs you to anwser him only nodding and shaking your head though" Damon said.

He then went and got the doctor, before entering again he made sure to tell the doctor she remembers everything but the attack.

The doctor said it was normal and they went back in.

"Hi Emilia, Your brother tells me you aren't suffering from memory loss apart from the incident. I need to run a few tests and you will need to stay over night for observation but if all is well you should be leaving tommorow " the doctor informed her. He then excused himself so he could go order the tests to be prepped.

"Isn't that great Emilia, just think from tommorow I can be stalking you 24/7" Damon tried wanting to get a smile out of her, but nothing.

"How about you rest" he suggested.

Emilia didn't respond but she laid back down, closing her eyes again.

Damon sighed, after a while of watching, making sure she was asleep, he approached her.

He pulled up the thin hospital blanket and placed it over her. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you" he whispered, he then silently walked out.

Everyone was watching him, waiting to here what he had to say.

"The doctor is running some tests" he simply said.

"Can I see her" Dante asked.

"Give her an hour or two shes resting at the moment" Damon said.

Dante nodded knowing Emilia needed to rest.

"Anyway boys, I think it's best you go home get some sleep" Alesandro said, he didn't want to kick them out especially now their sister had just woken up but he knew it was in Emilia's best interest. He saw how overwhelmed she was. "But she's just woken up" Matteo protested.

"I know and it's late no doubt she will sleep, the doctor will run tests and then she will go back to sleep. You guys need rest too. Damon and I will stay and if anything changes we will let you know" Alesandro explained.

"It's for the best, you can come first thing tomorrow, Mason bring her some clothes, if all goes well they are going to release her" Damon added.

Mason nodded, smiling at the possibility and hoping she would come home.

"What about me, you never mentioned me, only them" Lexi said.

Alesandro had forgotten about her, yet again.

"Right, yes you will go with the boys" he said.

Dante snickered knowing their father had forgotten about her.

Damon sent him a look but Dante couldn't help continue snickering. In the end Damon just rolled his eyes.

"Off you go boys and listen to Mason" Alesandro said. "And Alexia you go too" he quickly added.

It's not like he purposely forgot her. It was just he had his boys throughout their entire life, his bambina and then their was Alexia.

He hated how he felt when he forgot her, he felt like a bad parent. Even though he wasn't neglectful or abusive, he took care of them all even Lexi, he just prioritised his boys and Emilia because he saw she had trauma of some sort, and now because she was in the hospital. He was still a caring father to Lexi and treated her well.

The boys and Lexi left.

"God I feel awful, I keep forgetting her" Alesandro said.

Damon smirked "I don't know how you could forget how, she's constantly there wanting to be the centre of attention, she's a bit like a fly, always there, always making you look but you can't stop a fly from bothering you as it never leaves you alone"

"Don't be so harsh, I'm still pissed with you for how you have been treating her. She's just a kid Damon" Alesandro said harshly.

"Oh come on dad, you can't seriously be okay with her bitchy attitude "

"Of course I'm not okay with it"

"Then why don't you set some rules, when we were old enough you gave us rules and I clearly remember respect was your number one rule for us. Yet with her you do nothing" Damon said. Their father was big on respect, he must have spent an hour lecturing them on respect and how it works two ways.

"That's different, I've only just got the twins back" Alesandro tried.

"It's not different at all, I get it you don't want to loose them again but she needs to learn basic respect " Damon said. He got why his dad was so laid back when it came to Lexi. He had missed the twins, he wanted them to like him, to accept thrm as their father.

"If you ever have a daughter you will understand, until then I suggest you drop this"

"Fine" Damon said understanding not to push the subject.
