《the unwanted twin》chapter 18

It had been another week. The twins had been living there for almost two weeks now.
Everyone saw how Emilia was getting more and more confident, they hoped she would talk soon...well almost everyone. Lexi had to put an to it today.
Fortunately for Emilia her brothers had bought her so many clothes she hadn't gotten around to wearing the ones Lexi had laced with a laundry powder type thing.
At least until today. Lexi had been getting annoyed and had even snuck into her room to add more to her tops.
She was allergic to one of the ingredients and when Lexi saw Emilia come downstairs that morning she couldn't help smile. Her plan had worked and she had to split Dante and Emilia up, he was protective over her, maybe more so than Damon. Nothing could get past Damon and even if it did, no one could call Damon out on it simply because he was Damon so she chose Dante. She had hidden the powder in his room.
Her plan at first was to make Emilia have an allergic reaction, it would only be a mild one but a reaction all the same.
Then Dante interfered.
And she figured why not break Emilia's trust of him, then she would break and not trust any of them. Damon would be angry and Dante would be too stressed to get suspious of her. He always watched her movements whenever she was in the same room as Emilia, she couldn't get rid of him. But now she could. Damon wouldnt let her near him after today.
She wasn't oblivious to Damon and Dante's relationship. She had heard them argueing last week then again last night. It sounded bad last night, she could swear they were throwing stuff against the wall too, something must have happened but it all went silent when Alessandro shouted at them. She figured he had heard it and went to the location they were arguing and stopped it.
Dante passed Emilia her breakfast like every day. She simply nodded. It seemed the top was taking effects as she rubbed the back of her neck.
"You okay" Dante whispered so only she heard.
Emilia nodded and removed her hand from her neck.
"Did you sleep well tesoro" Damon asked.
Emilia nodded in response, looking down at the food.
Alessandro had noticed her habit at not eating until told well most of the time she wouldn't. He hated it and it concerned him greatly. It hadnt even been two weeks yet so he had decided to watch her habits until he spoke about it with her.
That being said she needed to eat, he didn't want to make it obvious so today he went with "bambina you really do have to try my omelettes they are amazing I promise" he didn't out right say it but Emilia knew what he meant and she slowly stopped playing with it and started to eat.
"They are so good" Matteo said as he ate them.

Alesandro decided he really should make his other kids breakfast and not just Emilia so he had cooked extra today.
"Thank you Matteo " Alesandro replied, but what he didn't say was I'd prefer that from Emilia, you are only eating them because I felt generous.
Emilia quickly wrote down
He's right, they are really good. You are a brilliant cook.
This made Alesandro smile.
"Keep stroking his ego and he will cook more for us" Matteo whispered to her.
"I think you mean he will cook more for her" Damon had heard what Matteo had said and decided to jump in on the conversation.
"I'll always cook for mia bambina, would you like some more" Alesandro said.
Emilia shook her head, she still couldn't manage big portions.
Alesandro nodded "that's okay". He loved all his kids the same, but he did have a soft spot more for Emilia. She was just so innocent and sweet. He wanted to protect her from the cruel world. He knew he should probably think the same about Lexi, she was his daughter and he loved her but she had a rude and disrespectful streak that Alesandro didn't like.
He also noticed that they never spent much time together alone. What he didn't know was the only alone time they had as when Lexi threatened Emilia.
He wanted to love all his children the same but right now it was obvious to everyone, Emilia was his favourite.
It suprised the boys since Lexi seemed to be his favourite when they first moved here and maybe she was but then again Alesandro could talk to her and at first he was frustrated because all he wanted was his daughter to talk to him.
"Hey what's wrong with your neck" Mason said
Everyone looked between the two "it's like the third time she's rubbed it now" Mason said mainly for his brothers benefit.
Slept on it funny
She didn't know why it was hurting it it was the only reasonable explanation.
The day went on and everyone did their stuff. Alesandro, Damon and mason went to work and the rest went to school.
It was almost lunch time and Emilia was in so much pain but she was taught to withstand it so she didn't let it show. At least until she collopsed in a coughing fit. She couldn't breath which caused her to sink to the floor, trying to breath but coughing at the same time.
Sophia who was with her freaked out. "Oh god,Emmy are you okay. Of course you're not okay" she said pulling out water.
She handed it Emilia as she scratched at her throat.
They were right next to the cafeteria.
"Ok I need to get one of your brother's I think" Sophia said when her cough worsened.
"Shit, okay just stay here" Sophia said not wanting to leave her but she needed to get help.
She ran into the hall, hoping Matteo was about, he seemed more approachable but of course he wasn't. Dante was sat with his friends as they enjoyed their break. He of course like most lunchtimes had a new girl clinging to him. His tattoos were visable making his appearance even more scarier.

Sophia forgot her fear, she couldn't let it effect her as she went up to his table.
"Looks like you are needed" one of Dante's friends pointed out
"The girl must be desperate she came running over"
Dante rolled his eyes and turned to see who it was. He was a little suprised to see his sister's friend.
He looked at their usual table, she wasn't there.
"Dante right?" Sophia said with urgency.
"What do you want" he asked not wanting to start a conversation with her.
"It's Emmy I mean Emilia, she just started coughing and struggling to breath, she's just outside the hall but we were alone and I had to get help so she's there now. I didn't know what to do" Sophia cried.
"Attention seeker" the girl on his arm mumbled.
Dante wasn't having this, he leaned in and whispered vile words to her before he got up and walked hurriedly out, Sophia was in front directing him to where Emilia was.
Emilia was breathing heavily when they reached her.
"Emilia it's okay, I'm here" Dante said kneeling down so he was eye level.
"Where does it hurt" he asked.
Emilia just grabbed her throat.
"Okay, we are going to take you to the nurse" he stood back up and picked her up.
He walked faster than his usual pace, so much so Sophia was running to keep up.
He didn't bother knocking, instead he walked straight in.
"My sister, she can't breath " he claimed.
The nurse quickly got to work "has she eaten anything, touched anything that she could be allergic too" the nurse asked.
"I don't think so"
"She's displaying symptoms of an allergic reaction " the nurse declared.
"She was rubbing her neck alot this morning " Dante said.
The nurse quickly had a look at the back of her neck and gasped. "Yeah she's having an allergic reaction"
"Bloody fix her then " Dante stressed.
The nurse quickly got to work. She was getting better, she could breathe proper again however it wasn't completely working though because her skin was in contact with the t-shirt.
"Where does it hurt " the nurse asked her noticing she was still in distress.
Emilia motioned to her upper body.
"Maybe something has come into contact with her skin" Sophia suggested.
"Emilia, I need you to think really hard and write down anything you could be allergic too" the nurse said and handed her paper and a pen.
Emilia didn't know she was allergic to anything. She started to think back to anything that had caused this reaction before.
She remembered one time Henry telling Alice to get a certain laundry product because she didn't like it. Maybe that's what was wrong. But then she hadn't had this reaction with her other clothes.
She could barely write but she quickly scribbled laundry product.
"Fuck, okay you need to get your clothes off" Dante said.
Emilia looked at him wide eyed.
"Could have worded that better" Sophia mumbled.
"I have my gym stuff she can change into them, they haven't been worn yet" Sophia then offered.
"And what if you use the same product " Dante said.
"Enough. Dante, Sophia she needs to be taken to the girls locker room, have her shower and have her change clothes. I'm case anything happens give her these. And then bring her back here" the nurse said.
Dante picked her up again, sophia followed, she grabbed her gym stuff from her locker. Once they were outside the locker room, Dante placed his sister down. "If anything happens you come get me" he ordered. Sophia nodded and they went inside, whilst Dante stood outside.
Whilst waiting he got out his phone and called their dad.
"Son is everything okay, you don't usually call" Alesandro picked up straight away.
"No. Dad you need to get over here right now. Em had an allergic reaction, she's in the locker room showers right now, could be a product we use in our laundry. It was so bad, she couldn't breath" Dante said, he didn't mean to show emotion but he was freaking out.
"Shit. Okay so I'm on my way"
Thankfully with the shower, a change of clothes and what the nurse have her, Emilia was recovering at a quicker rate. She was just exhausted. Sophia had to go back to class so Dante had been the one to stay with her. Matteo joined eventually.
They were now waiting in the reception for their father.
Alesandro stormed in, a worried expression on his face "Mia bambina, where is Mia bambina" he called. His eyes met Emilia's and he rushed over hugging her tight. "You're okay now. You're safe" he muttered but it was mainly for his benefit. "The nurse wants to speak with you" Dante said.
"Si let me hold my daughter a little longer though" Alesandro wasn't ready to let her go just yet.
Eventually he did and backed away "I shall go talk to her but I will be back. Have someone go fetch Lexi, no point us leaving without her"
He then left to go speak with the nurse, Emilia was exhausted and just wanted to go home. "Dante are you okay" Matteo asked as he noticed his brother was deep in thought.
"Yes of course I am, just you should have seen her, it was scary man "
Matteo nodded, he didn't know what he would have done if he was in Dante's position.
"Damons going to be pissed when he finds out isn't he" Matteo mumbled.
Dante shuddered "yeah real pissed" he still had a far of gaze as he thought about their last arguement.

Sometimes, when you close your eyes to sleep, you find yourself in a dream. You may not remember the dream, but for those precious moments, or perhaps seemingly years, that is your life. Yuclaus finds himself rocked to sleep while returning home on a public bus. As he falls into a deep slumber, his heart slowing down, he jerks awake. Where he finds himself is a world full of various creatures, races, mysteries, laws of physics, and creations so fantastical, it could only be a dream. Yet with every person he meets, with every encounter, he realizes how lifelike this world is. He starts subconsciously accepting this as his reality, but is that really wise? No matter how you look at it, this world could be nothing but a dream. Disclaimer: There is a profanity warning. If you are worried about swearing in every dialogue, fear not. In order to capture a character's reaction properly, I felt I needed them to swear. As of now there are three uses of profanity. There are also multiple times a swear word is started, but not finished. For example: "bi—".

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
