《the unwanted twin》chapter 15

It was the end of school. The younger siblings had gotten home whilst Mason, Damon and Alesandro were still at work.
Lexi reluctantly went and got started on her chores, Damon had given her a list of stuff Mary does after lecturing her about how doing this will make her more appreciative.
She wasn't happy at all.
1.Clean the hallways including upstairs
2.Change the bedding- the laundry had been done this morning as they each were responsible for putting their own laundry in the wash so all Lexi needed to do was put the bedding on the beds.
3.Put away hers and Emilias clothes- the laundry that had been put in this morning was items such as t-shirts and jeans. They were responsible for most of their own clothes when it came to washing.
4.Cook dinner.
Lexi smirked, she couldn't wait to get to Emilia's stuff.
After a while Lexi grew frustrated so she did the only thing she knew how to. She went and got Emilia who was busy doing her homework.
"You need to cook" she stated.
Emilia didn't respond.
"Fine I'll just tell Damon you didn't do it, he won't be very happy considering he told me to tell you to do it. Maybe he will stop letting you eat" Lexi said.
For some reason unknown to her, Emilia found the confidence to stand up for herself. She grabbed a piece of paper. Yes she still wouldn't dare talk but it was better than nothing.
Mary does the cooking, Damon gave you her jobs. Also Damon doesn't make decisions like that, Alesandro does.
"Yeah it's a good job he likes me more than he does you" Lexi muttered.
Just before Emilia could say anything there was a knock at her door.
Dante entered seconds after. He looked between the two twins, something was going on, he just didn't know what. "Aren't you suppose to be doing Mary's job" he asked.
Lexi nodded "yes I was just asking Emilia if I could come sort her stuff out just in case she's busy, I didn't want to disturb her" Lexi was a good liar and Dante believed her.
"Fine. Emilia can we talk" Dante asked.
Emilia didn't want to talk with Dante, he had started to suspect something.
She nodded and followed him out not wanting to get into trouble.
Whilst following him back to his room she couldn't help but think what if Lexi was telling the truth? What if Damon did want her to cook? He didn't like it when people didn't follow his instructions so he wouldn't be happy. What if he gets angry?

He clearly did something to Dante and he made sure Lexi did her jobs. What would he do to her?
"Are you listening"
Emilia blinked, she had heard none of that. God she was so worried about the what ifs that she had stopped listening, that would definitely get her in trouble.
"Well I just wanted to thank you for covering for me yesterday. I know you could have told Damon what I said but you didn't. Thank you"
Emilia put her hand in her pocket trying to find her phone but realized she left it on her desk.
"Here" Dante saw she was struggling so handed her some paper and a pen.
It's okay, is it okay to ask what happened between you two
Dantes gaze hardened "nothing, he just gave me one of his boring lectures" it was only half a truth. Damon had done more than just a lecture.
Dante decided to change the topic not wanting her to ask more questions "I do have to ask is your sister always so whiney"
Emilia couldn't help but pick on his word choices. 'your sister'.
She's your sister too
Dante read what she had written and rolled his eyes. He then sat lazily on the sofa, patting the place beside him so she could sit down.
"She is you're right but she's just so whiney. When you do eventually talk please don't be so whiney and cringey" Dante said as he picked up two gaming remotes. He handed Emilia one who stared at it, not knowing what to do.
No promises
Dante looked at it and then get expression to see if she was serious, to his relief she was messing.
"Here let me show you how to play"
The rest of the evening Dante taught Emilia how to play, she still found it difficult, she crashed many times. He wouldn't let her play anything that involved shooting so they were limited with what to play.
Emilia was so tempted to ask him about guns when he flat out refused to play any of those games.
Emilia had seen Dante in a new light.
Meanwhile Lexi was laughing to herself. She had put some fragrance stuff on Emilia's clothes, it wasn't her original idea but when she saw the ingredients in the fragrance stuff she knew she had too. Emilia was allergic to them. Not deadly allergic but she would get a rash.
She then cooked dinner making sure when she plated the food up to put alot of chilli powder in Emilia's portion.
Damon and Alesandro came back just as she finished. Alessandro went to change and Damon went to the kitchen.

"Did you finish them" Damon asked.
Lexi nodded "yeah I've just finished making dinner now"
"Great, go fetch the others downstairs" Damon said.
Mason quickly joined his siblings and father as they all sat down to eat including Lexi, Alesandro drew the line at making her eat on her own.
"How was school" Alesandro asked his four youngest children.
"It was good" the three said in some way or form.
Emilia just nodded to what her three siblings had said.
Her thoughts went to Sofia's suggestions. She could ask. Now would be a good opportunity.
She quickly wrote down her question.
How was work
Alesandro smiled unaware of her intention, he was grateful she was trying to make a conversation.
"It was good, a lot of meetings and paperwork"
What do you all do
Everyone seemed to look at each other when they read that.
"Business " Damon said coldly.
"Yeah I heard from my friends that you guys have companies worth billions" Lexi added.
The seating had changed that night and Dante was sat next to Emilia. He leaned over to hear and whispered "gold digger much"
Emilia bit her lip not wanting to laugh. Laughing was never allowed with Henry or Alice. She dreaded to think how her father and brothers percieved it especially when they tell Dante off for his comments however she allowed herself a little smile.
What kind of business
Emilia asked to distract herself. She also wanted to test Sofia's idea.
"A bit of everything, nightclubs, restaurants, hotels, we buy alot of failed businesses and build them up.Why are you so interested tesoro" Damon anwsered bluntly.
Emilia could tell when someone was lying but it was too hard with Damon. She felt comfortable with him though so she took the risk and quickly wrote a reply.
Just wondering since you have the whole serial killer vibe going on
She was sat next to Damon so she only dared pass him the paper not wanting to get in trouble with the others.
Damon read it carefully, his siblings and father watched, all curious as to what would be said.
Damon looked at Emilia again. Perhaps she knew? He didn't think so though considering if she truly knew she wouldn't be so calm.
He was aware how scary he could be. That was probably why.
He read the words again and chuckled, You really have no idea how dangerous I am tesoro, he thought to himself.
He was still a little in shock she had said that. He knew that when they got her talking she would definitely be quite cheeky.
God her and Dante would be a nightmare together, especially since it seemed they were getting close. He thought to himself.
"What did she say" Matteo finally asked.
Damon glanced at Emilia and saw a glimpse of fear, he knew then that she wasn't comfortable enough for them to know. "Nothing that concerns you. Lets just eat"
They had still yet to eat.
When Emilia took a bite she started coughing. Dante patted her back causing her to flinch at the contact.
Everyone looked at her with concern so much so they didn't see the evil smirk Lexi had.
After recovering Emilia tried again but started coughing worse.
"My bambina" Alessandro exclaimed.
This really concerned Damon but he couldn't help himself when he leaned over and whispered "maybe it is because of the whole serial killer vibe I have"
Emilia looked at him in shock as she tried to stop coughing.
"Just kidding" he quickly said and handed her water.
Recovering and trying again a third time was when Damon took it seriously. He pushed the food away and gave her more water.
Alesandro was still fussing and he had taken the role of patting her back.
"It's okay, you're okay, deep breaths" Alesandro fussed.
Dante looked at Damon whos full attention was on Emilia but caught Dante's eyes. Dante gestured to the food and Damon nodded. They both were sat next to her so they both saw it with the food.
Dante tried the food. No poisen. It had a strong kick to it making Dante realized it must be too spicy for her.
Lexi had added a bit of chilli to everyone's food to make it more believable if this was to occur, it would just look Emilia had a more spicy version.
"It's fine, it's just a little to spicy for her I think" Dante said when he saw everyone watching for a anwser.
"Oh no. I didn't mean to add that much" Lexi quickly said.
"It's okay bambina, it's just spicy food, lets go make you something else yeah. Boys and Alexia, you can continue eating. My bambina and I will be in the kitchen " Alesandro fussed. He then held his hand out for Emilia who cautiously took it.
"Let's go see what we can make yeah? Anything you want bambina" Alessandro said gently so much so that Emilia was starting to trust him too.
