《the unwanted twin》chapter 3

They arrived at the house, Damon smiled as he looked back and saw Emilia was asleep.
She looked adorable curled up in a ball sleeping.
"I'll carry Emilia in" Damon said.
"She's my daughter, I'll carry her" Alessandro quickly said.
Lexi hated that they were arguing over Emilia, she wanted attention. "What about me" she asked.
"You have legs, you can walk in yourself" Damon said coldly.
"Damon don't speak to her like that"Alessandro scolded his son.
Damon nodded "I apologize father" Before his father could pick Emilia up, Damon had opened Emilias side and picked her up.
She stirred slightly "sshhh, go back to sleep Emilia" It seemed to work because Emilia drifted back to sleep.
"I'm taking her to her room" Damon told his father.
Lexi had a annoyed look which Damon catched, he chose to say nothing though. Lexi wasnt happy with how much attention Emilia was getting, she would have to do something about it.
Damon quickly took her to her room, wanting to get her laid down before the rest of their brothers make an appearance.
He placed her on the bed and looked around the room that the boys had sorted out for her, he knew Mason probably did the most as Dante was not happy being tasked with this and Matteo would only go all out. They wanted the rooms to look neutral so the girls could decide on how they want their rooms to fit their taste but they didn't want it look like a guest room. Mason obviously accomplished this as the room looked good with a grey theme.
"Sweet dreams' Damon whispered suprising himself, since when did he wish anyone sweet dreams? He shook his head at this thought and left.
It wasn't a big surprise to see Mason, Matteo and even Dante stood outside although Dante was trying to appear bored and unbothered.
"Is that her, is that my sister" Matteo asked with an excited grin on his face.
"It is but she is sleeping so no one disturbs her. If I find out she woke up because one of you foolishly went against my order then there will be trouble" Damon was back to being cold and emotionless.

"Could have just said don't disturb her" Matteo mumbled but quickly regretted it when he saw the sharp look Damon sent him.
"Your other sister is awake though so you can go meet her" Damon added.
Mason and Matteo had been waiting for their father and brother to get back with the twins and when they saw Damon carry one of them in, they immediately went to the room he had taken her to and waited outside, Dante followed, he wasn't as bothered but he wanted to meet his sister. They were so excited that they forgot about their other sister.
Alessandro accompanied Lexi inside, Lexi frowned when she saw that none of her brothers had bothered to greet her. She didn't like it one bit.
"Come on, I'll show you around. I'm sure the boys are around somewhere, they probably saw Damon with Emilia and followed him"
This annoyed Lexi, she really had to get rid of her.
"I would like to know, why doesn't your sister talk, is she physically unable or is it by choice" Alessandro asked.
Lexi put on a fake concerned look for her sister, she didn't want to raise suspicion on how she truly felt about her but then she realised this was the perfect opportunity to turn them against Lexi.
"I think it's by choice, she has always been so defiant, she always refused to anwser mum and Henry or listen to them" Lexi said acting upset, she thought of Henry as her father but for this to work she couldn't say that.
"Could you give an example of her being defiant" Alessandro asked, he certainly didn't want a defiant daughter, he demanded respect from all his children and his daughters weren't going to be an exception.
"Well she recently got a D on a maths test so they gave her extra chores as a punishment but she refused to do them" Lexi spun the story leaving out anything that put her in a bad light.
"I see, and how does she communicate with you guys" Alessandro asked, he already was making plans to talk to her about it and if need be get her a tutor. He expected good grades from all his children, so if she was struggling a tutor was essential.

He never had to worry about Damon, Damon had been a A+ student, being exceptionally smart and focused.
Mason had gotten a few Bs but was mostly As.
Dante who was currently a senior, had mostly Bs.
And Matteo had Bs.
His children were bright there was no doubt about it and so he expected just as good grades from the twins, he was well aware they might struggle in some subjects but as long as they gave it their everything.
"Well we try but she always ignores us, so we sorta just gave up, we still try but not as much" Lexi anwsered.
"Okay well I think your brothers are lurking in the hallway how about I introduce you to them" Alessandro said changing the subject.
He wasn't happy with the information he had discovered, if what Lexi said was true then he was pissed at Emilia, he did not like getting ignored.
Alessandro led Lexi out into the hallway where Mason and Matteo were hovering.
"Hi I'm Matteo but you can call me Matt if it's easier, I'm your brother, I'm 17 so we will be going to school together" Matteo was excited to meet his sister's and couldn't help but talk as soon as he spotted her.
Lexi grinned, Matteo would easily be the first she could influence into hating Emilia.
Mason rolled his eyes at how excited his younger brother was "and I am Mason, I'm 22, it's a pleasure to meet you Alexia" he spoke gently but formally.
"It's good to meet you too mason" Lexi couldn't help but flutter her eyes and use her innocent baby voice to speak.
"Speak normally or don't speak at all"
They all looked up and saw Dante watching from above.
"Dante do not use that tone or say such horrid things to your sister" Alessandro scolded.
Lexi couldn't help smile, she had Alessandro on her side already, soon she would have Matteo and then Mason. She knew Dante and Damon were probably going to be the hardest but as long as she had Alessandro on her side the others would fall into place. It was clear Damon followed his father's orders and if he did surely the rest would. All she had to do was influence her father.
"She should talk normally though" Dante commented.
"Don't be rude Dante or i swear you will face the consequences"
Lexi smirked, thinking that Alessandro would give out punishments similar to what Henry gave Emilia.
"Enough you are going to wake Emilia up" Damon appeared. He was stood next to Dante.
"Go downstairs and meet your sister or so god help me" Damon whispered menacingly. His tone left no room for arguement. Not even the devil himself would deny Damon.
Dante gulped and headed downstairs. Damon had a way of making everyone including his brothers do as they are told.
Dante headed downstairs, not wanting to risk defying his brother.
Staircase, Dante watching from above on the upper hallway)
The brothers all knew Damon to be brutal at times, he was harsher than their father at times so when Damon told you something, you listened.
"I'm Dante" Dante bluntly introduced himself.
"You could have been a bit more nice" Matteo said but quickly shut up when he received a glare from Dante.
"You will talk normally around me or don't bother talking to me at all" Dante pretty much ordered. Lexi gulped, Dante definitely was going to be hard to get on her side but then she realised, he will probably hate Emilia more.
"Don't speak to her like that" Alessandro said.
"I apologize" Dante said but he didn't really mean it and Lexi knew that too.
"How about you continue the tour with Matteo and Mason, I'm sure they would love to get to know you" Alessandro suggested.
Lexi nodded, she would have them on her side sooner this way.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
