A bobcut-haired, blue-eyed girl in her school uniform ran towards another girl with silky, long auburn hair that reached her back, green eyes, modest nose, long and curvy lashes and pink kissable lips.

"Kuroha-chan, wait up!!" The latter turned around.

"Yukino-chan..?"

"Ah, stop walking..!" Kuroha chuckled at her friend's behavior. "Why are you laughing?"

"Oh, it's nothing. I just thought about the others' reaction if they saw you acting like that."

"Kuroha-chan!!"

"Well, the truth will always set you free..."

"I hate you!!"

"But you love me." Yukino pouted at Kuroha's words because what the latter said was true.

They recently got friends and Yukino already knew that Kuroha was very trustworthy, despite holding the admiration of many male students in their school. Kuroha is just a scholarship student but her overall aura could even beat Yukino's, and that's what she admires about her friend.

"You know Kuroha-chan, you're like the main character of a shoujo anime I'm currently watching..!"

"There you go again with your otaku nonsense..." Kuroha berated Yukino.

"But you also read light novels..!"

"But those are still different from those cartoons you wat--"

"No!!! Anime is not a cartoon, how many times do I have to tell you that?!!"

"Tell that to your parents..."

*hahahaha

Yukino got infuriated by Kuroha's teasing. She was just about to snap when Nobunaga Oda of the Student Council interrupted the pair. As always, his face was expressionless, but the two girls already got used to it.

"I finally found you Aizawa-san. Have you already finished your report about the finances of the kendo and chess clubs?" He asked in a monotone voice that Yukino flinched in terror.

"T-That... Kaichou..!" She stammered earning a seemingly deathly glare from Oda.

"I knew you haven't, and I think it's because of those 'cartoons' you've been watching lately. So I hereby ban you from it, and your parents have already agreed to it." He turned to Kuroha. "And you Takeda-san, I expect you to show up in the office so you can hand over your report about your class, is that clear?"

"I... etto..!"

"Is that clear?" He buried her with his intense glare that she slightly trembled in fear.

"Y-Yes..."

"Yes what?"

"Yes Kaichou." He quickly strided away that the two girls breathed in relief.

"Wahhh... that was exhausting..!" Kuroha nodded in agreement. "Here I thought I was gonna suffocate just locking eyes with him..!" Kuroha held both of her friend's shoulders.

"Are you really okay?" She soon regretted asking when Yukino slowly warped her lips while staring at Oda's retreating back. "Don't tell me, you--"

"I just fell for him all over again..!"

*hic

"Hey Yukino, are you sure you like that guy? He's like a fricking ice pole..!"

"Don't you know? That type of guys usually are the most possessive of their love interests, and my reference are many shoujo animes and mangas."

"Hah, what do I even do with my otaku friend..?" Kuroha asked as she held her temple. "I thought rich people like you think that 'animes' and 'mangas' are for commoners..?"

"Yeah, normal rich people does but remember!" Yukino placed her fist on her chest. "I'm not just anyone, I have a commoner mindset despite being rich! Isn't that why you befriended me? Because I'm different?"

"No, I befriended you because at first, I wanted to prove to you that I'm not interested in Kaichou at all!" Kuroha said. "But I realized, you're more than a rich brat. You're a friend that will last more than a lifetime."

"Thanks Kuroha-chan!"

"Hn."

When every student went home, Kuroha headed straight to the student council with Yukino trailing after her in secret.

'Let's see how the romance between Kuroha-chan and Kaichou unfold. Will she confess first or will he be aggresive and seduce her?'

Yukino rolled her eyes when she heard their conversation.

'What the heck are they doing? Shouldn't there be sparks between them? What is this bland conversation instead?'

She then widened her eyes when she heard how they referred each other by their first names.

'Oh, this is getting interesting... Hehehe, who would've thought that Kaichou's words could contain warmth when he speaks with Kuroha-chan? Our schoolmates will be so excited of this development!!'

*kyaaahhh

When Yukino heard an ear-piercing scream, she hurriedly slid the door open and her feet halted their steps when she heard his last words.

"Let's go back... Seraphine."

'Seraphine?? Why did Kaichou call her 'Seraphine'? And now that he mentioned it, he also said 'Coelacanth' earlier...

Why do those words sound familiar, like I've seen it somewhere..?

But before that, I should save them first!!'

She hurriedly called for an ambulance and checked their pulses by touching the sides of their neck. She stumbled back when she felt nothing, and dread could be seen in her expression.

"D-Dead..!" She stammered. "Kuroha-chan..! Kaichou..!"

*sniffle sniffle

Tears streamed down her delicate face as she placed her friend's corpse on her lap. She kept hugging it and her blood got smudged on her uniform.

"Kuroha-chan! Kuroha-chan!!" Her hands trembled when she touched Kuroha's pale face. "C-Come b-b-back..!"

*sniffle

"Kuroha-chan..?" Yukino caressed her dead friend's face as her tears dropped on her face. "Kuroha-chan!!"

'Why?! Why is this happening? They were only the two people in the room, so why did Kaichou stab her? And his last words...

Now I remember!! It's the human empire in the otome game, 'Hey Milord, Lemme Capture Your Heart!!'. Why does he know that? And he even called her 'Seraphine'.

Oh wait... Oh. My. God!!

Isn't that the heroine of the sequel?!!'

The ambulance finally arrived and moved the corpses on retractable beds. Yukino just watched with dull and empty eyes as they declared her friends dead.

'Why did these things even happen? Why did Kaichou kill her? Why did he mention 'Coelacanth' and 'Seraphine' before he died? What's the connection?

"Were you the one who called?" She quietly nodded. "What's your name? Did someone see this besides you?"

"Aizawa Yukino, and no. It's just me." She wryly smiled that the man who asked her pitied her in his heart.

"I'm so sorry for you to be witnessing this. I hope you'll be okay, so can I get you some tea?"

"Yes please..."

'One day, I'll find out the reasons for this..!'
