《A Tale of an Amalgam》Chapter 23: The Gods in Ambrosia

Third Person POV
Centifolia, the new goddess of the universe after the death of the previous goddess Aurelisse centuries ago, looked down on her fellow gods as she sat on the Sanctified throne, with her chin propped on her two hands forming a triangle.
"So what is it?" She coldly asked, replacing her immature voice with a stern one. "What about her?"
"Your Divine Sanctity, please listen to our words!" One of the elderly-looking gods pleaded. "Pairing the Amalgam with him is dangerous!! He is too dangerous for such an important existence like the Amalgam! Please separate the two, Your Divine Sanctity!"
"Aren't I the Queen? Why do you keep questioning my decisions?"
"Centifolia, I'll kill him if you won't adhere to their words." Arcturus stepped in. "You know me, I can create war between their kingdoms just to separate the two."
"Are you threatening Centifolia-neesama?" Meerschaum defended his sister figure.
"I'm not," Arcturus shrugged. "I was just siding with these weak fools who thought of something right for once. Centifolia, why don't we just eliminate his existence?"
"Arcturus-sama!!"
"Enough!!" Centifolia chastised them. This hall is not for quabbles, it is built so we could decide what to do." She turned to Aristophane, the god of peace, and he assured her with a smile.
"Everyone, as the god of peace, I side with Centifolia. If the Amalgam could tame him, there's a zero chance that he would explode. Furthermore, Centifolia has already taken the Sanctified throne by the blessings of Aurelisse-sama even if Centifolia has half the blood of Pyrrho."
"Well, what he said is true..."
"He has a point..."
"Aurelisse-sama already gave her the throne..."
"Maybe we shouldn't interfere with this matter any longer..."

"Why are you already giving up?! Aren't you the ones who asked me to argue with her?! What's happening?!"
"Shut up already, Arcturus-sama!! Have you lost your respect for Aurelisse-sama? How blasphemous of you!!"--Meerschaum
"Kinda. She was the one who betrayed us by loving that demon Pyrrho, she even dared to birth this halfbreed Centifolia!!"--Arcturus
"I forbid you to proceed!!"--Aristophane
"How dare you sully her name, Arcturus!! You're just the god of war, you also befriended the same demon who okaasama loved!"--Centifolia
"Oh, so I sullied her name? How laughable!!"
"Didn't you ask Calliope, the goddess of love, to pair Aurelisse-sama and Pyrrho? Why are you acting like this knowing your actions caused this disarray in Ambrosia?!"
"Wha-What..? But Aurelisse was the one who asked me..! How is it my fault that I have to follow the Queen of Ambrosia's orders without hesitation?!"
"What?" Centifolia asked in confusion. "Calliope-sama would never interfere with okaasama's private affairs. How would a middle-god like you afford to mess another god's business, much less the supreme ruler of Ambrosia?"
*hohoho
"As you said, I'm just a middle god. What would happen if one of the three demon kings from Acheron asked Calliope instead?"
"What?!" Everyone except Arcturus exclaimed in shock.
"Pyrrho, the Demon King of Destruction, threatened me that he'll destroy half the population of every races if I didn't agree to match him with Aurelisse. What was I supposed to do? Should I just watch as many humans, dwarves, elves, fairies, dragons and spirits die?!"
"Do you mean that ottousama wanted to keep okaasama for himself?!"
"Well that's a possibility because after all, Pyrrho is the possessive type. For now, why don't you dismiss the meeting so we could properly do our jobs, hm Centifolia?"

"O-Of course, Arcturus-sama..."

Seraphine's POV
I woke up early, as usual. I pushed my worries last night to the back of my mind not wanting to worry Imogen-san and everyone else. When I heard the familiar knock on the door, a smile crept up on my face immediately.
"Come in."
*creak
"Good morning himesama!!" Imogen-san greeted me as she pushed a trolley of foods towards my bedside. She helped me sit up and placed a miniature table in front of me.
"Hn. I. Do. Myself." I was about to snatch the spoon from her hand when someone else did it before me. "Makkun!" I exclaimed in surprise. "Why. Here. You?"
"Aww Sese-chan, you went back to talking like that. Weren't you very fluent yesterday and the days before that?" He curiously asked with a pout that I balked. "Hm~?"
"T-That..!" I clamped my mouth shut.
"I get it, I get it..." He scooped a spoonful of porridge from the bowl. "Say 'ahh'..." My face heated up as he looked straight to my eyes.
*bathump bathump
Calm down, my beating heart!! What is happening to me?! Isn't Makkun that's in front of me right now a kid?! And if I add my age from my current life to my past, I'm approximately 22 years old so I'm 12 years older than him!! Oh my god, am I a shotacon?
"Makkun. No." I bashfully lowered my head. "I. Eat. Myself."
"Not gonna happen!" He grinned and I saw how his eyes glinted in mischief. I was mesmerized by it for a few seconds that my mouth gaped so he managed to put the spoon in. "There!"
"Mak--" He put another spoonful of my food. "Yo--" He did it again, for the third time.
"Sese-chan is so cute!!" He patted my head that warmth enveloped my chest. "Good girl!"
Wow, he suddenly looks so cool!
"I object!!!" Imogen shouted from behind that I choked. Makkun pulled my waist and tapped my back. "Sorry, Your Highness..!!"
*cough 4x
"Let it all out..."
*cough 3x
"I didn't mean for that to happen, himesama!! I swear, I'm really sorry!! Please punish me befitting of my blunder!!" She kowtowed to the ground. "You can execute me if you want, a lowly maid like me dared to put Your Highness in danger!! I deserve death!!" I waved my hands at her in dismissal that she looked at me, teary-eyed.
"Not. Imogen. Fault." I told her sincerely. "Please. Not. Request. Execute." I added.
"I will agree to what she said, but what about His Majesty?"
*gulp
My whole body trembled just imagining Imogen's bloody body that it filtered the scene of my death in my previous world and my parents' eight years ago.
"Sese-chan? Sese-chan!!"
"Himesama, wake up!!"
I lost consciousness.

The Woman In The Palace
Highest rank #1 in Historical He glared at me with irritation. "Come inside!" ...And I did. He pointed to the stack of books on the floor. "Pick them up and arrange them the way they're supposed to."With trembling hands, I did what he asked quickly. Fret in the way I moved, picking up the books into my arms and lap one by one only for them to fall back on the floor over and over. I was a mess, upset, and it was obvious. This wasn't the kind of first meeting I dreamed of.The second prince was mean, and he was irritable. He had no clue who I am which made me resent it even more.He scowled as he watched me made mistakes after mistakes and after a while, he grew frustrated and bent over, picking the books himself."Forgive me, I didn't mean to snarl at you the way I did. I'm not used to being distracted. No one ever walks in my office unless they have my permission. I don't even know how the guardsmen let you in." I wanted to say because unlike you, they recognized who I am. But I kept my mouth shut in fear of aggravating his anger. His voice took a lot gentler tone, I imagined he must've realized how upset I was and felt bad about it.I said nothing. When we're done, I rose up to my feet, couldn't wait to get out of this room. This man was so impolite to me that I couldn't wait to get away from him."I apologize, your highness. I didn't mean to distract you in your private office." I stepped back getting ready to leave when a sliver of sunlight struck highlighting my face. "Wait!" He murmured and I turned back to look at him."You're beautiful." He said breathlessly.I would have blushed, but he was so mean and rude to me that his compliment lost its impact long ago."I need to go," I told him."Wait." A wave of panic rose in the tide of his voice. The prince was afraid to lose me. "What's your name, girl?" He asked quickly. "Jasmine, my name is Jasmine, your highness.""My Jasmine?" He murmured hopeful.
