[... up... wake up, you mortal!]

Hngg, five more minutes..!

[You slothful excuse of a mortal, wake up! Do you want to be struck by a holy lightning that much?]

I immediately sprung up from the succumbing softness of the pillow. I looked around to verify someone's presence but after confirming that I was alone, I focused on the voice in my head.

What? Can't you just give me a peace of sleep? Living a royal life is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you know!

[Silence! Do you know how hard the work of the gods is? We have to pacify the weak, punish the evil, aid the deserving ones to the path of success and victory, reincarnating people who play vital roles for the world, those kinds of things. And you expect me to give you time which is, in fact, something we almost never have. I don't even understand why mortals pursue the path of immortals.]

Okay, okay, jeez!

[Centifolia-neesama already sent a guide for you to continue walking the road of fate. Don't ever try to walk another path of destroying the current one, we don't know what'll happen if you do either. Anyways, be careful.]

Why? What for?

[As you know, you're the amalgam. The unique existence that hasn't appeared in a hundred-thousand years. The previous one was the saintess of ancient mortals, but further information is too complicated for you. Thus, I can only say this words... be careful, someone powerful has set his eyes on you. Well, that's not my fault.]

Then, can you tell me about why I died? I, at least, deserve to know why an acquaintance such as Kaichou would cause my death.

[Well, he remembered something he shouldn't have and then a tragedy happened. Then you were brought here by Centifolia-neesama.]

Ah, I see. Mataku, I would've smacked his head open if I knew this would happen. How dare he kill me mercilessly like that, even ending his life after.

[Oi, oi, what are you thinking? Honestly, you are normal, even among mortals. How did Centifolia-neesama even notice your existence? Even I, who is in-charge of mortals' and immortals' fate, didn't notice you. Is it because you-- nevermind. Farewell.]

Bye~

"Himesama, are you awake?" A familiar voice from yesterday said opposite the door that I froze.

Oh no! Well, let's go back what happened yesterday.

"Bitch!" I cursed at her.

"Y-You--!"

"Nereida-ojou, please restrain yourself! She's the only princess of Daemonorops, execution will be your end if you won't be careful with your words." The cutesy maid grabbed her arm but she removed it with ease.

"Shut up, you lowly peasant maid! How dare you, a commoner, tell me, the daughter of Marquis Tyrranis, what to do? Are you out of your mind?"

"N-Nereida-ojou..!"

"I told you to shut up!" She slapped her right cheek so hard that she fell to the floor. "Know your place, you filthy commoner!" She gazed at my direction. "And you," She pointed at me.

What is she thinking? I pointed at myself while looking at her in a bewildered expression that she facepalmed and nodded.

"Yes you, is there anyone else?" I shook my head.

"You lowlife of a princess, how dare you make me your maid when I'm the Lady of one of the most prominent families in Daemonorops? You're just a princess born mixed with the blood of a human!"

"I see." I coldly replied that she staggered. "What of it?"

"What?"

"I asked, what of it?"

"I-I..!"

"I'll tell ojisama on you, let's see if you get to your mansion alive with no missing limbs or organs..." I fluently spoke that a horrid look appeared on her face.

"You wouldn't..."

"I would, if I have to." I smiled at her smugly that she silently shrieked. "Never mention any insults against my parents, ever again. Or I'll torture you myself, got it?" I emphasized the last part to threaten her. "Hm?"

"Yes himesama."

"Louder!"

"Yes himesama!!"

"Good." I nodded to myself and kicked them out of the room. I went back to the embracing comforts of the soft furniture called bed and dozed off.

Now that's what happened!

"Himesama, shall I go in?"

*creak

The door creaked open and spat the cutesy maid called Imogen. She's so child-like in manner and speech that I'd mistaken her to be younger than me.

"Himesama, good morning! Are you looking forward with your breakfast with His Majesty?" I nodded and stood up. "Shall I prepare your bath, himesama?" I nodded my head again that she went straight to the bathroom; she called me after a while.

She bathed, massaged and donned me into a red long gown. There was also a matching red tiara.

After she finished dolling me up, she lead me to the dining hall which took my breath away because of its massive size and beautiful decorations. The walls were made of white marble with black streaks while the fireflies were captured inside the transparent glass floor. It served as light for the room and at the farthest seat of the table, the draconic king sat.

"Good morning my dear Seraphine, did you have a good sleep?" He inquired with a grin so I nodded. "That's great, take a seat." I walked across the brittle floor and towards the seat next to him. When I looked around, many knights with horns and tails stood guard.

This silence is killing me! Ojisama, at least strike a conversation with me, that way I won't be uncomfortable. Jeez, please!!

*ahem

I turned to its direction and saw another man in his late 30s wearing a noble outfit. He has crimson hair and emerald eyes.

"Glory to Your Great Majesty!" He exclaimed in glee.

"Hello, Prime Minister. What brings you here when you have tons of paperwork in your office?" He winced at ojisama's words.

"Come on Your Majesty, I was just here because I was curious of the princess. Am I not allowed to see her?"

"Of course, I know you're planning to engage her with your son."

"Oh~ho~, as expected of Your Majesty. I promise you, I don't have a single intention of it."

I'm still here by the way!! And why do I feel like they're on a verbal war because of me?

"Your Majesty, may I join you for breakfast? I just wanna talk to her for a bit." The Prime Minister said with expectant eyes that ojisama sighed in defeat.

He sat down opposite to me that drew my discomfort. When the delicacies arrived, I tried to focus on my food but this annoying person, which is a Prime Minister, kept bugging me.

"Hime, nice to meet you." I nodded and took a bite of the steak. "Ah, excuse my rudeness." He added in panic that I finally made eye contact with him.

This annoying guy, can't he give me peace?! Can't he see that I'm clearly drawing my distance because of my discomfort?

"Prime Minister, shut your mouth if you must. My granddaughter doesn't talk to strangers." Ojisama said that I smiled at him. "Ahem!"

This king and his granddaughter complex!

From that warning, he stopped pestering me. As for me, I quietly enjoyed the food and put down the eating utensils after finishing.

"I'll be on my way Your Majesty, Your Highness." He said, winked at me and then left the premises.

*fwaahh

I heaved out a sigh and looked at the draconic king. He smiled amorously.

"Are you curious about something?" I nodded. "What is it about?"

"Location. Library." I replied that he loudly chuckled.

"Why is my granddaughter so cute? Don't worry, I'll take you there myself. It must've been hard on you back on the Snake Clan, they have no books." I nodded my head again.

"Nereida. Bad." I blurted out that caught his attention. He gave me a 'what-did-you-say' look. "Nereida. Bad. Seraphine."

Curse this inexperienced mouth. Oh right, I was the one who initiated it.

"She was bad to you? Oh~ho~, someone is courting death. Tell me, do you want her to be killed, imprisoned or tortured?"

*shudder

Is he seriously asking me, literally a kid, to decide on the fate of another human? I don't even know if she's human. Is she a dragon too?

"I changed my mind, I'll take care of her myself. Thanks for telling me, kiddo!" He patted my head. "Tell your other maid to bring you to the garden of the main palace an hour later, okay?"

"... why?"

"We're having teatime there." He said in excitement that I had no choice but to nod.

So ojisama is a dandere? Then what does that make me, a kuudere?

"I'll leave you for now, I have tons of work in my office. Have fun with what I prepared for you, Seraphine-chan."

"Ojisama. Library." I stated that he chuckled in amusement.

"Alright, sorry for forgetting. Let's go!" He princess-carried me all the way to the library with all the palace servants looking at us in amazement. They openly admired their king for doting on his granddaughter, which is me.

'His Majesty the King is so amazing!'

'I know right, especially how he's carrying Her Highness the Princess!'

'Agreed, even Her Highness is cute!!'

'Now that you mention it, she looks like a porcelain doll!'

'Yeah, she has silver hair! Silver hair!!'

'It's so beautiful, and her wide golden eyes! Ack, she's the most adorable girl in Daemonorops!!'

We're right here everyone, we're right here. How can they carelessly gossip with us present? Do they want us to hear them?
