《Teenage Dirtbag -South Park Creek》Shut up about a Boat Ride, Clyde

I sighed and firmly put my chin onto my hand. It was a boring day here at Tweek Bros. it was only about 9 in the morning though. The rush usually came in around 8 am and 12 pm. I looked out the window and the sun was already up pretty high. Which was weird for me since I usually don't see the sun on my days off and I've had a lot of days off recently.
I just started to wipe down the counters when I heard the door swing open and the little bell on top of the door chime.
It was Clyde, which wasn't surprising but he looked upset. That scared me a little bit.
He threw himself on top of the counter right in front of me with his arm draped over his eyes, dramatically.
"I was cleaning there" I told him
"Oh Tweek. My life's over"
"You ever notice that whenever you have a problem you come to me when I'm working?"
Clyde moves his arm and raised one eyebrow at me.
"Look don't be so dramatic" weird. People are usually telling me that. "Now what happened?"
Clyde turned himself over on the counter and looked at me
"I told Craig I like Kenny"
There was a long pause of silence from both of us. Then I sighed and put my hands over my eyes before laughing.
"That's what you're so upset about?" I asked "that you told Craig you like his ex?"
"Yes!"
"Clyde that's not that bad okay?" I reassured him "they broke up a long time ago and they only dated for like a month. You'll be fine"
Clyde groaned and started to fling himself around the table.
"You gotta move now, I have to clean"
Clyde scruffs and then says lame.

After finishing wiping down the counter I turn around and ask him if he wants the same dragonfruit drink I always make him. He says yes so I make it.
"So how did craig react?" I asked Clyde in order to pass time
"He just laughed at me!"
"Did he think you were joking or something?"
"I don't think so" Clyde says, sitting down at a table
Pretty normal day, nothing interesting really happens. Until Craig walks in.
I smirk and turn towards Clyde who gives me a look.
He sits down and our booth next to Clyde. Then he lays his head down in his lap and states "I'm bored"
"Mhm. Too bad I'm working" I say
"What!" Craig sits up "You're hanging out with Clyde right now!"
I smile "completely different. He is a paying customer" I say in an attempt to flirt, and also push his buttons.
"There's no way you paid for that" he said turning towards Clyde.
"And how is that strange sir?" He said, playing along "you have no idea who I am and how I make my hard earned cash"
"Don't be stupid, Clyde" Craig stated " I know how hard that must be"
"Sir, please don't harass my customers" push "this young fellow simply wants to enjoy his meal"
Craig's eyelids dropped "he has one dragon fruit tea"
I began laughing and got up from the booth "you want anything?"
Craig's cheeks flushed and turned white as he said "uhhhh"
He just kinda zoned out right in the middle of our conversation
"Hello?" I snapped in his face "hello? Earth to Craig?"
"Wh-What?"
"I asked you a question"
"What?"
"What do you want?"
He began to sweat "um"
"What drink do you want" Clyde leaned over and told him

"Oh! Okay, can I get, um," it's weird seeing Craig stutter like this "can I get a Uh raspberry tea?"
I turned towards the press machine and asked him "Why are you being weird?" Without looking up.
I mean he's being weirder than usual. I know I'm not really one to talk but his normal is not like this. He's never really normal but this isn't his normal. Does that make sense? I feel like I'm blabbering. In my defense when does he ever stutter?
"I'm not being weird. I'm completely normal. Just a normal guy"
I cringed inside. What the hell was that?
After I was finished with his drink I brought it over and set it down in front of him.
"I didn't know you liked sweet stuff"
"Huh?"
I blinked in confusion
"Your tea?"
"Oh!" He realized " Oh, Yeah Yeah Yeah, I like raspberries but I'm not really a fan of other artificial sweet stuff"
"Ah," I Said.
Clyde clicked his tongue in boredom.
"So!" He yelled "what do we do?"
"I still have a couple hours to work but you mean after my shift we should do something?" Clyde said yes so I responded with "I don't really know, we could go to the pond?"
Craig tried to say something but before he could Clyde jumped in with "That sounds great! You could go on a boat ride with Craig-o here!"
"Clyde No-"
"We'll see you later Tweekers!" Clyde said pushing Craig out the door despite his various protests "it's a date!"
Clyde finally got both him and Craig out the door and pushed him away.
I smiled a bit and said to myself "a date?"
I knew it wasn't an actual date since Craig didn't say a word about any of it besides him trying to talk Clyde's out of it. Plus Clyde was going to be there.
But the thought seemed really nice. Me and Craig, just us, out on the water together. It seems really corny, which it is, but I really wouldn't mind it. Hell I could be on a damn roller coaster with him as a first date and it'd be fantastic. I hate roller coasters.
I looked towards their table and sighed "they left their tea"
I picked up the two half empty plastic bottles and threw them out. Then I sat behind the counter and began to daydream about him. Me and him, on a picnic or something cheesy like that. My mind began to wonder from cheesy and corny to something more dirty.
I bit my bottom lip a little before being dragged back into consciousness.
"Sir! Sir!"
"Oh, um, yes ma'am?"
"I've been waiting here for three minutes can I please just order?"
"Yes ma'am, what would you like"

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above.
