Contract Summoner
Earth. The planet many of us call home. Here we live our lives as normal as possible. For one human known as Mathew McGonald, he too, calls this place home. Specifially in the great state of Virginia. He currenly lives life as a divorce attorney, and is content with his life. One day, Mathew was leaving his office, a successful squabble ended, and his client kept most of his possessions from his ex-wife. When he went to step into the hallway, instead he ended up in a grey void with a blue box hovering in front of him. Earth now converted by an entity known as 'The System' must now defend its self from portals that lead to other wordly areas known as 'Dungeons'. As of 08OCT2020, this story is put on Hiatus due to lack of motivation to keep writting. I plan to write a new story, and the future might hold a continuation of this one, Thank you all to my readers, commenters, and reviewers for allowing me this oppurtinity. My Name is Keiren. Keiren Ignis. At least that was what IT told me. Now all I have to do is figure out everything else. No simple task when you're an amnesiac. Honestly, why do I know these words and what they mean, but I have no idea who or even what I am. Except for what IT told me. IT is whatever is causing the wierd pop-up screens that appear in my vision when I think about certain things. Seems like I'm going to have to play by ITs rules until I get a better understanding of everything else. This is my first attempt at writing anything. To be honest I'm not 100% sure as to what direction this will take. GLHF It became sci-fi. There will probably be a romantic subplot at some point. There will be some implied sexual content, but nothing more explicit than kissing will be written. Will try to release at least one chapter a week, but there could be none, or possibly 3 or 4.

What happens when one creates a story then leaves everything to chance? Thousands of paths stretch out endlessly that separate into even more, countless paths. And then, all but one is destroyed with a single roll of a twenty-sided die. The die becomes the true author while the writer just provides possibilities then takes a backseat and narrates. This story will be random. To save time, the characters and some of the events will be somewhat generic, but past that all bets are off. It will create tropes and then shatter them. Characters can and will die. Even the writer doesn’t know how this story will play out. The die is the god of this world that rolls and everything it says goes. I have had a technical error and have lost over 10k words and almost 4 chapters worth of work. I lost everything up to the middle of the chapter I last published. This has broken me to the point of no return and I will be dropping this story. My mind can not overcome this lost. I am sorry for those who enjoyed the story.
