《The Midnight Man》Chapter 12 - "Run, May!"

Madison, May and Keira sat around Cindy's dead body, crying their eyes out. They all turned around and gasped when The Midnight Man entered their room.
"Hello, girls," He said politely. They all just stared at him.
"Uhhh, hello," Madison said nervously
"Hi," May said
"Hello, sir," Keira said through tears. He smiled at them.
"None of you were at breakfast," He said. "Please, follow me" The Midnight Man walked out of the room as the girls all got up and followed him into the eerily silent hall.
"Where is everyone?" Madison asked
"Sleeping" The Midnight Man put simply
"Sleeping?" Keira questioned
"Yes," He replied, "Sleeping," Madison, May and Keira just looked at each other in concern. They kept walking until Keira's curiosity got the better of her. She walked over to one of the doors and pushed it open. Keira screamed when she saw five dead bodies lying on the floor, filled with candle wax and their chest sewed up messily with red thread.
"You've been a bad girl, Keira," she heard The Midnight Man say. Keira turned around slowly and couldn't stop another scream from leaving her mouth when she saw what The Midnight Man was holding - A knife, a candle and some red thread.
Suddenly he lunged forward and pushed Keira against a wall. She screamed again, so he grabbed the thread with a sewing needle tied on the end and started to sew her lips together, stopping her screams. Warm and salty tears fell from her eyes until The Midnight Man had finished sewing her mouth closed.
"Now," He said, "we begin the ritual..."
"Keira!" Madison shouted, "Keira, where are you?"
"Keira, it's not a game of hide and seek!" May shouted, "Just come out here!"

"Where is she?" The Midnight Man asked
"We have no idea," Madison said
"Why is that door half open?" May said, pointing at the door Keira's dead body was behind.
"I'm not sure," The Midnight Man said. "Let's close it," They all started walking towards the door. When they opened It, Madison fell to the floor.
"Get up!" The Midnight Man shouted
"No!"
"Madison, just do what he says!" May said through tears. She grabbed Madison's arm and tried to pull her up, but Madison was stubborn and wouldn't move.
"I'm not going to ask again, Madison. GET UP!" He shouted.
"No! She's my sister!"
"How unfortunate," The Midnight Man said as he grabbed the knife from Keira's side and held it tight. "Any last words?"
"Yes," Madison said, "Tell me who killed her."
The Midnight Man sighed deeply before saying, "It was one of my brothers. They killed everyone here. Cindy's son killed a Midnight Man, so now everyone will pay. We need to make a new Midnight Man to replace him, and we need bodies. Why do you think my father opened this orphanage in the first place? It's because he needed human bodies full of candle wax." He explained.
"Where are your brothers now?" Madison asked
"Thirty of them are on their way to the real orphanage; Ten are going to A block, ten to B block and ten to C block. Soon, we will have enough bodies to fulfil the ritual. We will have an army of Midnight Men to take over the world!" He boomed. Madison's face went pale, and he grabbed her by her neck and pinned her against the wall.
"Run, May!" She managed to choke out those last few words before The Midnight Man thrust the sharp metal knife into her stomach. He laid her on the floor and began scooping her guts out. May turned around and sprinted to the doors. To her surprise, they were unlocked. She made it out of the building and squinted at the bright sun. The light was blinding.

She had not stepped out of that building in years, and when she did, she turned back into an adult. May squealed in joy and jumped around as she remembered why she was there. She wanted a kid, so she went to the orphanage to adopt one; that's when she woke up in her bed just like Cindy had. She had woken up as a kid. But she was now an adult - a very hapy adult!
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The Midnight Man was coming; May had to hide.

On Tilt [in progress]
Going on tilt is like falling in love: both make you foolish and should be avoided at all costs. *BROOKEI hate Dean Hollis.I tell myself that every day. And some days, I almost believe it. Some days, I sell myself on at least a solid dislike of who he is and what he stands for.Like his stupid charming smile. His stupid sculpted forearms. And his stupid addictive cologne that leaves me light in the head and weak in the knees. He's a vintage blend of infuriating and intoxicating, all in one deceptively handsome bottle.Let's not forget his notoriety for emotional hit-and-runs. Dean is a bad decision just waiting to happen. I would know.Been there, done that... Literally.*DEANI remember the first time I saw Brooke Maccabe. My first thought was, holy shit. That's the hottest girl I've ever seen. I was trying to think of a good pickup line when she walked up to our door and gave Brendan a hug.My next thought was, fuck my life. Because that dime? She was my best friend's baby sister. And she was sixteen.Verboten. Off-limits. The Demilitarized Zone. She may as well have had a blinking red neon sign over her head that read, 'Look but don't touch: Violation punishable by death'.Problem is, I really wanted to touch. And the even bigger problem is, nine years later, I did.*18+ for explicit adult content
