If my morning routines were as boring and uneventful as the average person beside me, I would never bother giving it a single thought, nor would I care to disclose a hint of it in this chapter. Lately, I've been having more fun than normal on the way to school, and there's a clear reason why.

"What's new in the world Nae?"

"I'm lovin' it!"

"Huh? What are you— nymphfufumb!" Without any warning, Nae managed to quickly shove a warm chicken nugget in my mouth as I spoke, forcing me to taste the goodness that are McDonald's chicken nuggets. While she lodged her fingers out of my mouth, I was forced to deal with this new situation.

Because of how wide my eyes became at the instant surprise, Nae just started laughing in a fit, primarily at my facial reaction. As weird as I found the moment, I decided it was best to just let her win and chew the food I was given. I realized only now that she was at it again, having fun with the many commercial slogans being pumped out on television. "Yeah, well, you want to know what I'm thinking?"

"No, shut up!"

As I gasped pretending to be distraught, Nae was at it again, enjoying my stupid reactions to our strange new way of passing time. I've never met anyone before who enjoyed making fun of popular commercial advertisements, but thanks to Nae, I've been doing much the same without understanding how I got there to begin with. "I see. You're more in a Snickers mood."

"I'm not me when I'm hungry."

"Who is?" I made myself comfortable, reminding myself how used to this I was. I sat in the same seat on the bus every time now, accepting all that wild energy next to me. If anything, it woke me up faster and got me into a better mood each morning. As I expected shortly after, it didn't take long for Nae to continue the silliness as she pulled out her City of Bones book, bookmark at the very end of the first series.

"How are you along with the reading?"

"Actually, I'm as caught up as you are. I have to say, I wasn't expecting so much to happen between Clorox and Juice." Nae started laughing uncontrollably again at my remarks.

No, I didn't misspeak just now. I know full well what the names of the characters are in this book, but ever since I mispronounced Sebastian in front of Nae, she's ever since made fun of me for it. I retaliated by mispronouncing every subsequent character since. Ever since I referred to Sebastian as "Seba-stain," I've since referred to Clary as "Clorox," (the cleaning product), Jace as "Juice," (since most girls find him juicy as hell), Valentine as "Valentine's Day Man," (because why not?), and Magnus Bane as "Magnum Opus!" I've had more fun reading it this way, more so when I get to talk to Nae about each of these characters. I sure didn't hold back, and anyone else listening in would be confused as heck.

"Juice and Clorox... Why do you keep calling them that?" Laughing as she spoke, Nae knew exactly why I referred to the combo as such. Juice and Clorox were the perfect combination of fluids representing their internal romance towards each other. Mixed together, one would get a tasty drink, the kind that could only be drank once since it's so toxic, but I won't spoil that ending.

"It's the law around here," I joked. "What good is life if we can't be silly about it every once in a while?" To that avail, I might as well be true to my word and apply the laws of silliness to everybody else around me too.

I started thinking about all the other characters around me in my life, of those I currently know or used to know. Let's see, Banarus could be Banana Peel, since lately, I've been slipping in and out of her acquaintance zone of trust. Malica could be a box of Poprocks; full disclosure, I don't like Poprocks at all. Laura could be a dangerous pit-bull chained to a leash, because I still can't wipe my memory of her once being Kaitlyn's guard dog. Zero can be the cute blue bowtie; I haven't found a single thing wrong with her yet. Then Ashly can be Sugar Cane, since I feel like she's always hyper on something.

I still had to wonder, what would that make me or Lumina? I can't call her an alien in this situation, since I'm an alien myself, if looking through her eyes anyway. It'd harder for me not to be serious about us, since every moment I'm with her is so intense. I could imagine Lumina as a super hero, but the truth is, she has all of the physical qualifications to be one already. Guess I can't see every aspect of life like it's a fun game.

Still, I'm glad I can at least try to take things less seriously. I feel like there are days where I just have no choice but to replace everything I see with a meme, and replace every person I meet with an inanimate object. It's an easy way to relive the stress of an otherwise boring and mundane experience. Plus, I have someone now who can appreciate me when I want to be silly. Lumina sometimes gets confused when I try that with her, but I'm working on it.

This is my life now! I might as well embrace it with open arms.
