Lucy watched Charles blink his eyes as she sat near him on the bed. The wolf raised his upper shirtless body and rubbed the back of his head, remembering the bump from his captors.

He glanced at Lucy and arched his eyebrows into a V. "Am I in heaven now?"

Lucy rolled her eyes. Apparently, the brain damage didn't change him much.

"Is that how you respond to your rescuer?" She asked with annoyance in her voice.

Charles glanced around with his eyes wide open. “I guess this isn’t heaven or the Undersea.”

Instead of slapping him, Lucy shuffled her knees toward him and hugged him tightly. He smelled like ash from a stinky swamp, but she didn’t care. “I’m so glad you are okay….. My heart told me you weren’t going to make it. But I kept my confidence high.”

Charles gave her a bright smile and rubbed his muzzle against her cheek. “I am very thank you, lass. Indeed, you are a fine pirate now.”

Lucy gazed into his eyes, feeling the heat flow around them. Before their lips touched, she turned around, remembering what she needed to ask him. “Uhhhhhhh, you better get some clothes on. There are some in the bath chamber.”

Charles shrugged and removed the sheets off his legs. “Alright. At least I do get some hospitality after the blasted cannibals almost ate me."

He walked straight into the next room and closed the door. Lucy stood next to the door so she could hear Charles’s voice. “Aren’t you happy we got the ship back?”

“Yes, I need a bath,” he said. “Those Black Dogs made me smell bad.”

Lucy crossed her arms.

“By the way, how did you get my ship back?” Charles asked while making scrubbing sounds in the water.

“Funny story. Tashina’s grandfather possessed Walton and did all the work for us,” Lucy explained. “Walton is still alive, though. I locked him in the brig, and Tashina trapped her grandfather inside a coconut. After we reclaimed the ship, we figured you escaped to Black Dog Island. The cannibals almost caught us, but Kiki ordered the crew to blast the cannons at them. Crazy, huh?”

Charles laughed. “You got the right crew, lass. But we still need to find Captain Flipper to get the map from him. Hopefully, he hasn't found the island yet.”

“That won’t be a problem.” Lucy grinned. “After Walton captured you, I spotted the penguin’s ship and sent the panther tribe to commandeer his vessel. I defeated him in a duel and used his ship to follow the Iron Maiden.”

“So you got the map?”

“Yes.”

The water splashed. Lucy stepped back as the door swung. Charles stood in front of her, nude. Soap dripped down his trenched gray furry body, covering his lower front. He looked athletic in clothes, but his body was well-muscled without anything on.

“Show me!” He exclaimed.

Lucy covered her eyes while her cheeks turned red. “You’re bloody naked!”

“I need to see!”

"Get back in the tub!" Lucy shut her eyes and pushed the wet nude wolf back into the tub. She closed the door before he got out.

“It’s very rude to stand naked in front of a lady!” Lucy cried.

“But I have fur!” Charles shouted back.

“I didn’t want to see your…..” She snored. “Just finish up, and then I will show you!”

Charles growled. “Fine!” Another splash in the tub. “Sorry about that. I do appreciate you getting the map. After my bath, we will plan our next move together.”

“Alright.” Lucy leaned her back against the door. “Charles, there is something I need to ask you.”

“Do you want to join me here? This tub has enough room for both of us.” Charles chuckled.

Lucy dropped her mouth. “Oh for bloody sake!”

She stomped away from the bath chamber door. She will ask him later when his attitude matures.
