《Pathless Origin: Bane of the Gods》A Spiritual Computer

Anyone born on modern-day Earth knew how important a computer was, they were simply too important to daily life. The same applied to magic. If Microsoft and Apple were the giants of computers on modern-day earth, then the Medici Matrix was the ultimate computer matrix in existence. It had countless uses and applications that allowed someone to turn their knowledge into power. To first understand its value, one must know its history.
Gianluigi Medici was a famous Magic Theorist of the Coiling Dragon Empire. An empire on a world far away from Earth on another planet. A world which had no technology at all and relied solely on cultivators to survive. But some tried to break the mould like Medici.
He had created many spells and techniques, resulting in many theories, papers and the like, but none more well-known, or perhaps it would be more accurate to say none were more infamous than the Medici Conundrum.
What Medici proposed was simple to explain. Certain magical abilities put a strain on the mental and spiritual processing abilities that warriors and mages had. Hence his idea was to have the burden of knowledge processing, storage and transfer passed on to an intermediary spell. He was well respected due to his previous works, but alas this theory was disregarded.
Not only did Medici fail to create such a spell, but he also wasted too many years trying to complete it while neglecting his cultivation. He created four powerful magics meant to work with the computer matrix but without completing the core matrix it was all pointless. Medici had hoped that someone in future generations would complete his life's work, but the task proved to be too difficult. Medici himself disappeared toward the end of the Coiling Dragon Empire. The Medici Matrix, as the spell was known, gradually sunk into the annals of history.

The four powerful subsidiary spells were still quite useful, but the missing core matrix made them unusable, hence many theorists tried to create another matrix while some dared to improve upon what Medici left behind. But there was little success in this regard. Nevertheless, Magic Theorists did not give up and broke the Four Great Medici Spells down into smaller parts that resulted in thousands of weaker variations that still influenced modern magic. This is why The Medici Matrix is so valuable.
Four earth-shattering spells were rendered useless because of a lacking core matrix that could store, process and transfer large amounts of data. This was the Medici Conundrum.
Earth had five powerful protectors who stood above the others, but two were especially well known. The Solitary Sword Sovereign and The King of Titans. The King of Titans had the opportunity to traverse to the world were Medici was born. After he came across the Medici Conundrum he sought to solve it, by using Earth's knowledge of mathematics and programming and fusing it with the matrix.
The King of Titans looked at the Medici Matrix and realized a core aspect. The mathematics of that world was far too simple and crude. Not to mention that there was nothing that came even close to a computer. But on Earth things were different. Although The history of The King of Titans was somewhat unclear, he proclaimed Earth as his home and was a self-proclaimed theoretical physicist despite him being thousands of years old. Rumour had it that he could travel in time but there was no proof of this as time magic still bordered on the realm of fiction. Yet many had claimed that The King of Titans had solved the conundrum centuries before Tertullian was even born. This was one of the great mysteries surrounding that man. Time traveller or not, Integrating 21st-century knowledge from programming and maths with ancient spell matrices was as simple as pie for him. It might have been a great undertaking for others, but he had a habit of doing the impossible.

What was a great conundrum to others only required him to research and fuse two different systems. The Titan King proclaimed that he was able to accomplish this in a few hundred hours of research and effort. He used this spell to learn modify and use hundreds of thousands of spells. He was knowable as the Infinite Mage, because of his near-infinite collection of spells. Most of which he had either created or modified in some way.
The other hero of Earth, The Solitary Sword Sovereign, took the Medici Matrix in another direction. He used it more for martial arts techniques and this resulted in him being a powerhouse with multiple attributes. Hestia had shocked Artillian with how many elemental attributes she had, but the number of attributes, abilities and skills the Solitary Sword Sovereign had in his arsenal could even make Immortals freeze.
Hestia had revealed a crucial piece of news to Artillian, one which made him even more interested in using the Medici Matrix.
'The Solitary Sword Sovereign is a godslayer.'
The term good slayer was a popular phrase for beings who could use Anti-Divinity. According to Hestia, the Sovereign's ability to use swords, mental power, Anti divinity and water-type abilities were unmatched.
"Sword Born Soul, Peak level Water, Spirit, Metal and Space Attributes, Mastery of four of the five higher senses, countless custom techniques created for himself, anti divinity. These are merely some of his skills. The immortal path allows for one to have many attributes, while true freaks of that path are able to become jacks of all trades and masters of most. But he was only able to collectively use and train these families by using the Medici Matrix as the core." said an unusually solemn Hestia.
Becoming a jack of all trades and master of all was Artillian's current objective, so how could he refuse this? An opportunity to be like the Solitary Sword Sovereign? Who would say no to that?
Once the matrix was done embedding itself, the Medici Symbol appeared on his palm. Bastian smiled as he activated the Matrix. The three shapes of the Medici Symbol started to move. The circle and square rotated in opposite directions while the triangle vibrated in place. An orange light with a red tint spread from Bastian's hand and slowly encompassed the whole room.
Book after book within the various bookshelves started to burn, turning into small motes of light that entered the symbol on Bastian's palm. Bastian had his eyes closed during the process but he could not help but snicker. If he did not have the confidence to survive Ambevilius' death game before, he now had the confidence to destroy it, so long as he could reach the Fusion Realm. This was the confidence gained from possessing a Spiritual Computer.

Wander West, in Shadow
BOOK 1 COMPLETED A young wizard journeys west, through dark forests and dangerous lands, searching for something. Accompanied by a wild witch who has secrets of her own, they come across terrible creatures, hauntings, cursed villages, and memories from their past. Who else will they meet along their journey, and to find what he is looking for, how far will the wizard have to wander west? NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction. If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review! FORMERLY TITLED: THE GLIMMERLING This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change. Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story. To give some context on the setting: Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters. While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.

Skinwalker / War Chief
A System Apocalypse Fan Fiction I started reading Litrpg about two years ago. I fell in love with Tao Wong's System Apocalypse series. He is an excellent writer and I loved his world building, but when the second series arc went elsewhere It kind of lost me a little. I wanted to create a little parallel world that was very familiar to his fans but skewed off in a different, darker direction. If you haven't read Tao's work, you're missing out! Look him up on Amazon and read The System Apocalypse. One of the best in the genre.
