"Y/N!" He reached out for you as the two of you began falling off the cliff. Hanako caught himself just in time, grabbing a hold of the end of the cliff before he came tumbling down. You, on the other hand, fell off the cliff. You reached out to grab Hanako's hand, but you missed it, barely gracing your fingers against his as you continued falling.
With a loud splash, you fell into the ice cold water. Your breath caught in your throat as you began to sink deeper and deeper. You caught a glimpse of someone falling into the water after you. But, before you could make out any features, it all fell black.
It all was quiet, until you heard someone play something. The tune of a flute came through the thick void, breaking you out of your trance as you slowly opened your eyes. Sitting up, you looked around the place. It seemed to be a house of some sort, an old one at that. Pictures and paintings hung in the tall walls around you. Glancing down the long corridor, you saw a small child running at the end of it and into a big wooden door.
'No way,' you thought, 'I've seen enough horror movies for me to know that I ain't in no way, shape, or form following a small child into a big scary door at the end of a dark corridor. I may be a reckless dumbass, but I'm not that stupid.'
You slowly stood up and looked around; apart from the old paintings and picture frames, nothing seemed to stand out to you. Taking a small step backwards, you prepared yourself to run in the opposite direction of the kid, not wanting to follow them into another scary place.
But, once you turned around, you bumped into something- or rather, someone. Your breath hitched as you backed away from the person's chest, reaching behind you, but you noticed that neither your baseball bat or tennis bat was there. Your eyes widened once you realized that you were completely defenseless against the man in front of you.
But, instead of being a pussy, you faced him. Looking into the holes of his porcelain mask, you stared into his eyes. He was dressed in a black suit that made him look rather professional. His hair was black, slightly curled, and some of his locks were falling in front of the face of the mask. As you stared into his dark eyes, you began to feel a sense of familiarity, like you had seen them before. The mask was slightly ruined, a long crack following from one of its eyes to its mouth. The mask had human features, a nose, mouth and holes for the eyes.
"Hello there… How's it going…?" You awkwardly shuffled, taking another step backwards. The man tilted his head, and it was at this moment that you saw how tall he was compared to you, having to crane your neck to look into his eyes. The man took a step forward, and you countered with taking a step backwards. "You need something?"

The man stopped at your question, before giving you a curt nod. He reached into his suit's pocket, taking out a small notepad and pencil, before writing in it. Then, after reading over his words, he gave it to you, giving you another head tilt. You hesitantly took it from him, looking up into his eyes for a split second, before looking down at the notepad in your hands.
His handwriting was rather sloppy, but you didn't pay much attention to it. Looking up again, you saw that he was standing closer to you, and you could hear his heavy breaths from inside the mask. His green eyes were looking at you with an intense glare, making a small shiver run up your spine.
"Um…" you thought for a second. "What's this 'void' you're talking about?"
He let out what sounded like a huff and snatched the notepad out of your hands, jotting down something before returning it to you.
You became rather offended by his snarky remarks and you gave him a glare. Taking another step backwards, you threw the notepad into his hands.
"Okay, I may be stupid, but helping a random ass man with a creepy porcelain mask on tracking down a young kid is not really what I was signing up for when I woke up in this place." The man shook his head before looking into your eyes. "Don't look at me like that! And this 'void' your talking about sounds suspicious as fuck, ain't no way I'm helping you take away a kid to a place like that."
You could see that the man became angry at what you had just said. He shoved the notepad into his pocket and began to take fast steps towards you. You continued to back up, until your back hit the door that the kid had run into. You held your firm stare as you looked into his eyes. Black smoke began to appear behind him as he glared down at you, small screams erupting from the black cloud. Your eyes widened slightly, the quiet screeching from the smoke cloud ringing in your ears.
Then you heard something from inside the room.
The man's eyes widened and his anger disappeared in an instant, the black cloud evaporating completely. The man shoved you away from the wooden door, making you stumble over your feet as you tried to regain your balance. The man swiftly opened the door, and what you saw inside baffled you.
The walls were scattered with various different coloured paint, swirls, triangles and stars were painted around the big room. The floor had games and stuffed animals on it, play things and drawings laying on the checkered flooring. The man sighed and began to take a few steps into the room, you following a couple of feet behind him. That's when you saw a small child sitting in the middle of the room, occupied with drawing with coloured crayons to notice you and the tall man. The child was humming an upbeat tune as they rocked their head from side to side, a big smile on their face as they laid on their belly, leaning their head in their unoccupied hand.

Stepping up from behind the man, now standing beside him, you could see the child's features more clearly. They had H/C hair and big, bright E/C eyes. If you had guessed, they were around the age of five. You saw a teddy bear sitting beside them, and you could only assume that it was the kids. Then they looked up, their eyes widening when they saw the man standing in front of them. But then they turned and looked at you, their smiles becoming brighter.
"N/N!" They exclaimed and jumped up from the floor, taking the teddy bear with them as they ran towards you. They hugged your legs and you awkwardly patted their head. "You're not supposed to be here yet, silly!'
"What do you mean?" You asked the kid, furrowing your eyebrows. The man only looked down at the two of you with a silent stare.
"Mister Aku said that you were supposed to come here in a couple of days! Not now," the kid answered and let go of you. Then they turned to look at the man beside you, who only tilted his head to the side. "Mister Aku! Y/N's not supposed to be here yet!" Then the child paused. "You didn't know that they were Y/N? But I gave you a very detailed drawing of them!"
The man looked to the side and at you, before taking out a crumpled piece of paper from his suit. He opened it and began to silently compare you to the stick figure on the paper. The man shook his head before putting it back into his pocket, looking down at the child again.
It was as if they were telepathically communicating with each other as you just stood there. The man then grabbed your arm and held you in front of him as he began to make dramatic hand gestures towards the child, holding you with one hand on your shoulder.
Then the child gasped and hugged their teddy bear tighter, "I do not suck at drawing!"
The man facepalmed and rolled his eyes. You began to look between the two and gave them a confused look, what the hell is happening?
"Um, excuse me, Mister?" You looked back at the man. He took his hand away from his face and gave you a small nod. Then you pointed at the kid in front of you, "Who are they?"
"I'm you!" The kid beamed.
"Me…?"
"Mhm!" The kid nodded as they hugged their teddy to their chest, "and this is Mister Aku!"
"Mister… Aku?" You turned your head to look at the man behind you. He brushed a hand through his hair and he gave you another nod, but he seemed to be sort of stressed. "Wait. You mean the death omen? And if you're me, and he's Aku, then what…" you paused, stopping your sentence midway. "What am I doing here?"
"Well, we were going to take you home, silly!" The smaller you smiled and began to walk back to their drawing that they'd abandoned. "See!"
They showed you the drawing they had been coloring when you and Aku had first walked in. It was you, and the younger version of you, holding hands with Aku. The two of you had smiles on your faces, while Aku had a drawn smile on his masked face. The drawing was one of a child's, all three of you were stick figures. The background was filled with flowers and green grass, a big yellow sun in the corner of the paper. A big castle was drawn behind you in gray and black. Then you saw a cloud of black smoke over the top of your heads as you inspected the drawing further. 'Home' was written in a childish manner under the three of you.
"Where is this?" You asked as you continued to stare at the childish drawing. Aku walked from behind you and stood together with the kid in front of you, tilting his head to the side.
"The void!" The child happily answered you, jumping up and down in their spot. "It's a place where nothing and everything can happen! Mister Aku said that he lives there, and that he wanted to take us home!"
"Home…?"
"Mhm!" The kid vigorously nodded their head before looking up at the man beside them, "Right, Mister Aku? You're going to take us home, right?"
The man nodded his head. You were pretty confused at the moment.
"But," the kid started, "we're going to stay here for a couple of days until the ceremony starts! Mister Aku can show you around if you want!"
"What ceremony?" You asked suspiciously.
"The sacrificing, silly!"
"Woah, woah, woah," you took a step back, letting the drawing fall to the floor. "What sacrificing?"
"Don't you remember?" The kid tilted their head. "After all, you should remember the day that Betty died, right?"
